Neuro X is a narrow sans serif typeface consisting of three weights with additional rounded versions and matching italics. It was first drawn as an exploration for a headline font and later expanded on to become a full typeface family. Neuro X explores the extremities of narrow proportions whilst also allowing for eccentric cuts. The typeface has been tightly monospaced and intended for use at larger sizes as a display but can also work at smaller scales for the more courageous among us. In 1525, Albrecht Dürer, the well known German great artist, was publishing the so-called “Underweysung der Messung mit dem Zirckel und Richtscheyt”, printed in Nuremberg. This handbook explained with numeral figures how to draw with a compass and ruler. A large part is devoted to the drawing of Roman characters, which can be used as decorative initials. We are offering two complete historical initial sets and also have entirely redrawn the missing letters: J, U and W, Eth, Lslash, Thorn and Oslash in the two forms, using the Dürer style. Jochen Schuss, the Biedenkopf, Germany, designer who was most recently responsible for ITC Vino Bianco, has created in ITC Whiskey a condensed display face that's both angular and soft at the same time. While the letterforms of Whiskey are clearly roman, there's a slight reminiscence of blackletter in the face's narrow proportions, its dark weight, and its persistent internal angle - not quite the 45 degrees common in a classic German textura, but a gentler angle of 25 or 30 degrees.
