Gemsbuck 01 is a typeface that was designed by Atok Khoiruding in 2022. It is a sans-serif font known for its bold and geometric design. Twentieth Century was designed for the cover of 20th Century French Poetry and was drawn with pure geometric shapes. It is the distillation of a broad variety of styles loosely known as Art Deco but, also categorized under such terms as Moderne, Streamline, Machine Age, Futurist, 70s Art Deco, Memphis among others. If there were a source in particular that I would cite as my inspiration, however, it would definitely be the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. I mean, look at the "W" for cryin' out loud!

The Neology fonts also include both plain constituents, Neology Deco (1920s-style minimalist geometric) and Neology Grotesque (similar to Helvetica etc., but with a small x-height). Jasmin is a tribute to the ancient stories of The Thousand and One Nights, in which a main story serves as a connection for a series of other stories, just like all the other glyphs are derived from one of Jasmin's letters or from a sign. A graphic path in which we tried to combine the calligraphy designed with a quill with geometric research. Among the glyphs there is one referring to a letter from a famous font by Paul Renner, made by Fonderia Bauer in 1927.

The Aspasia is a decorative low contrast sans serif type family suited both for editorial and corporate design, available in five weights, ranging from Thin to Black. In the spirit of the perestroika changes and following the collapse of the Soviet Union, a group of Russian type designers quit the state-owned Polygraphmash foundry to establish ParaType, the first, and now largest Russian digital type foundry. Since their first appearance as Italians on the pages of the 1821 William Caslon type specimens, reverse contrast typefaces have been typography's best loved quirky outcasts. Subverting the traditional relationship between thick verticals and thin horizontals made them perfect for eye-catching advertisements. The unexpected contrasts and the thick slabs produced by reverse-contrast serifs became ubiquitous in period posters, and synonymous with wild west and circus iconography. Albiona Inked is a vintage distressed version of Albiona that evokes the urgency of teletext printers, typewriter ribbons and authentic hot-metal type on rougher paper. A contemporary slab-serif, it revisits aspects of Robert Besley’s classic Clarendon, designed around 1842 for Thorowgood and Co. and named after the Clarendon Press in Oxford. Subsequently extended by Stephenson Blake in the 1950s, Albiona adds the inwardly-curved stroke terminals of the same foundry ’s Grotesque series, and includes italics and old-style and tabular numerals. The original Clarendon’s ball serifs and calligraphic eccentricities have been rationalised and streamlined for functional contemporary uses. The family consists of five weights plus italics and a stencil, and its clean readable style is perfect for both extended text as well as headline setting. The DIN Neue Roman adds something new to the established concept of the DIN 1451 type’s technical origin. As a serif counterpart it leaves its static appeal to bring some friendliness into this industrial idea. With more contrast than a slab serif and the dynamic stroke of transitional type DIN Neue Roman defies all conventions, but keeps its legibility. To have enough resources for diverse and complex typography this type family offers 7 weights with italics, small caps and all kind of opentype features. Type designer Philip Lammert likes to play with the great potential of contradictions. That brought him to this design combining two essentially different classics. DIN Neue Roman is part of his 2015’s master thesis at the HAW Hamburg which was supervised by Prof. Jovica Veljovic.

The publication of this more mature design is the result of a previous 1-style project which was developed in 2010. Rita, the new design, has increased from one single style to a full font family, with a strong personality, ideal for short text for high impact designs. Rita is a slab serif typeface that offers a wide range of weights and widths—from a thin, ultra condensed font to a heavy variant for poster design. Its variety of weights and widths allows users to create a number of different compositions such as titles and text for impact or high impact graphics. Rita comes in 10 styles and includes a set of 400 characters that support over 200 languages. Rita was designed by Daniel Hernández with the collaboration of Rodrigo Fuenzalida.

The new OpenType font Shrub feels like a printed, textural typestyle, influenced by the great slab-serif fonts of the 20th century and organic, messy effects of old Xerox copiers. Cowhand is a display typeface designed by Toshi Omagari to keep words at one specific width. Words of one letter will have one very wide character, words of two letters will have characters of half that width and so forth. At the maximum of 20-letter words, characters become very tightly compressed. The design of the Cowhand typeface is inspired by western style block printing with reverse stress that is characterised by chunky slab serifs. This Lite version of the typeface was designed as part of a font marathon over the course of 3.5 days in Monotype’s NY office. Please Note: these "Lite" fonts are offered with a limited character set. Monotype is proud to support Room to Read’s work in literacy and girls’ education through our font marathon initiative.

Maribor is a slab serif font with nice shapes, they are both soft and angular. It is perceived calmly and with a twist. Maribor means "Mara`s pinery". The energy of the Universe, reflecting the modification, renewal and change for the better is called Mara; Ancient wise ancestors called it so. Today it is known as the goddess Mara in the Vedic worldview of the Slavic-Aryan peoples. Maribor is a multilingual font, it contains characters for 104 Latin languages and all Slavic, including all capitals for them. There are all major currency signs, including the ruble and the Euro. Many OpenType features allow you to make a variety of compositions; as well as to see the font from the new side thanks to the stylistic sets for the Slavic alphabets.

We decided to explore the concept of fitness, but from a more natural perspective. With so many people drinking detox drinks and eating raw food, we were inspired to create a font that mixes the ‘strength’ of sports and the organic nature of natural products. The result is ‘Matcha’: a strong and energetic typeface that also flows at the same time. Zin Serif is a contemporary typeface designed for various situations of typographic usage. Hudson NY is a display font that gives you strong and bold typography with three different styles that make up the family, a regular, serif and slab serif. Hudson NY is an adaptation and progression of Roper Font, and like Roper font it comes in regular and a press versions, giving the user some cool options when creating artwork. The golden thread that ties this family together is its American sports and college styling, it gives Hudson NY an authentic look but at the same time there is a modern approach to the character set. Museo... it all started with my love for the letter ‘U’. This uppercase letter just came to me as an image in a daydream. The top of both stems bent into semi-slab serifs. From this principle I worked out the rest of the uppercase letters. My first intention was to make it an all-caps display font, but after a while, I changed my mind. I wanted it to be a bit more versatile, so I decided to add lowercase and adjust spacing and kerning to increase legibility. This OpenType font family comes in five weights, and each weight comes with support for CE languages, even Esperanto. Besides ligatures, contextual alternatives, stylistic alternates, fractions and proportional/tabular figures, Museo has a ‘case’ feature for case-sensitive forms.

This delicate condensed typeface evokes a distant 1930s style with its pointed and sloping capital letters. The splayed capital M gives the design a very a definite retro flavor. But deco quickly becomes modern day with the use of slab serifs. The thick body of Kingsbury Condensed is neatly anchored to long thin serifs giving the face an unusual and at the same time contemporary appearance. Great for book covers and large capital letter assignments where a modern revivalist look is appropriate. Kingsbury Condensed Book is also available in the OpenType Std format. Telemark is a monolinear slab serif influenced by the wide serif typefaces of the 19th century. The name refers to the vintage form of skiing which was introduced in Norway at the same period of time and allowed more fluid turns. After the Telemark style was replaced by newer techniques in the Alpine countries it has experienced a rise in popularity in recent years. The Telemark type family features the three weights in an additional label style which allows an uncomplicated creation of editable pointers, banners and cartouches. Different combinations of end pieces result in a great variety of designs. Telemark is suitable for headlines and logotypes and complements script typefaces as well as any neutral grotesque.
