This typeface has its roots in the Egyptienne-family which became popular in the beginning of the 19th Century. To make the family more unique and personal, ”twists” have been crafted throughout the design. All together a family of 6 weights, including: Medium, Medium Italic, Bold, Bold Italic, Black and Black Italic.

Design System is a great type system consisted of 5X7X2=70 font styles from 70s-style simple square sans to the widest style of all time that are best for titles, logo and text. Their simple form does not limit the target of design and can be used for any creative work. Additionally they all have been designed not to provide a feeling of strangeness when they are used in mixture each others.

This font was inspired by the Latin script used in European monasteries from circa the 5th to 8th centuries, before the Carolingian “Caroline” (look at our 825 Karolus). It was a regular script, rounded, written slowly, used mainly for specially meticulous books, with a few ligatures, legible, but only with lowercase. The capitals consisted of enlarged lower cases, but here, we have preferred to use two slightly different patterns. Our lower cases are a synthesis from a lot of variants (mainly from the “First Bible” of Charles The Bald), the upper cases were mainly inspired from a 700’s manuscript from the abbey of Fécamp (France). We have adapted the font for contemporary users, differentiating between U and V, I and J, which has no relevance for ancient Latin scribes, and naturally with Thorn, Oslash, Lslash, K, W... punctuation and the usual accented characters which did not exist at the time. It can be used with 799 Insular Title.

In 1905 the Parisian typefounders Peignot & Cie. issued their Série 16. This clear roman with a large x-height and an italics soon enjoyed a great popularity. Coen Hofmann’s drawings made for the Seizième follow the original Peignot Série 16 as close as possible. The regular font has the original small caps, while all members of the family are enhanced, next to the ranging ones, with old style figures. Also superior and inferior figures are available. The original series did not have a bold version. This was, however, carefully drawn for this digital rendition. The Série 16 and its versions for the composing machines were much used for the type setting of scientific publications. That is why a comprehensive set of mathematical and sundry characters are added to the Seizième fonts. Next to the accented characters for the several West and East European languages the Seizième was also enhanced with a Cyrillic, also available in regular, italic and bold versions.

Capital is a multifunctional super family with modernist roots. It is comprised of two distinct subfamilies: Gothic and Serif. The Roundup family was inspired by fonts from the late 19th century, though it is not based on any one of them. Roundup-Caps was the first of the group to be constructed. It has two sets of upper-case letters that have minor differences. It has reverse contrast, that is, the verticals are thinner than the horizontals. Unlike most of the "Old-West" fonts with reverse contrast, the serifs are not square but have an odd, rounded shape. Roundup-Regular replaced the second set of caps with lower-case letters. A bold style strengthens the vertical elements so that it no longer has reverse contrast. Both the regular and bold styles have matching oblique styles. Finally, there is a hollow version with a shadow to the lower right. This shadowed style has had its inside taken out, creating RoundUp-ShadowInside. The spacing is the same as RoundUpShadowed so it can be layered over RoundUpShadowed to easily create two-colored lettering.

By twisting and weaving separate strands of rope together, a stronger TWINE is created. The distinctive “valleys” that give the twine its twisted and wavy appearance is the result of the twining process. "Qualta" was initially designed in 2017 as a submission for a type design assignment while at typography school, originally launched under Alt-A Foundry, "PGF Qualta" was developed specially for Publishing Agency under the supervision of Peggo Fonts Foundry, now with a complete Small Caps set, classic and old style numeric figures, lining and tabular forms, scientific and fractional notation set, arrows set, light parenthesis set. Set on producing a geometric sans, it started with the circular form drawn from a 50s television screen. The bloated shape gave an illusion of protrusion and so much open space to the rounded letters. A broken stem was then added to the lowercase to provide a notch that allowed the typeface legibility in smaller sizes. The typeface was then developed into eight cuts with their corresponding italics. The lower case g includes a variation with a transitional link derived from the upper case Q’s tangent tail. Qualta’s original concept was designed by Isabel Gatuslao and was developed by Pedro Gonzalez.

Buddy is the new companion sans for Contenu, the book font family designed for my book on font design design. Originally, I called it Compagnon, but that seemed to pompous. Then I called it Aide, but that was too formal and dry. It's a loose, free, easy to read sans, so when my wife suggested Buddy, it clicked. This is the 4-font Buddy family of Regular, Italic, Bold, & Bold Italic. I made a new, more limited feature set for these fonts due to their designed usage, but there are still small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, numerators, and denominators. The bold is closer to a black, and the italics are only slightly slanted obliques. If you need a strong black in caps, use the small caps of the bold.

Pistol Twelve JNL is a novelty version of Jeff Levine's Twelve Oaks JNL wood type font, with the addition of random bullet holes in the upper case characters. The font design was suggested by fellow type designer Ray Larabie. Pistol Twelve JNL is a two-fold pun. Initially, this conveys the obvious fact that the design is a variation of Twelve Oaks JNL with bullet holes... but the name is also a play on an old, old joke.
