Most of the characters in this font were drawn on a napkin with a felt marker, and the resulting ragged texture was very suitable to the Halloween subject matter. JH Lea cursive is a school kids typeface; it is designed based on cursive handwriting , typical for children books, first hand calligraphy experience.

After studying the originals of Morris Fuller Benton and the existing versions, this font was designed with all new thin weights.
