The typeface is exceedingly lively, diversified and distinct thanks to more than 300 different ligatures, i.e. letter combinations. In addition to the letter combinations in Conté Script, there are also double letters and figures included (aa, ff, AA, MM, 22, 66…) as ligatures with stylistic alternates. Type set in Conté Script appears remarkably similar to a text actually handwritten with a pencil. The typical style of the pencil — crumbliness where pressure lessens and the deep darkness where the pressure of the graphite in it's fullest denseness smudges — is another earmark of Conté Script. The font appears to be written quickly, fleetingly, casually, as if not really to be taken seriously, and as if it would be written one minute and erased the next. When work started on the design of Gelica, there wasn't the same glut of retro-ish soft serifs there is today, and if I'd managed to complete it quicker, it might have been more trendsetter than bandwagon jumper, but that's the way it goes sometimes! I still think it's useful and unique enough to be a worthwhile addition to your typographic arsenal. Although obviously influenced by Cooper, it actually owes more to the lesser known Goudy Heavyface and Ludlow Black, particularly in the concave serifs. I wanted the family to be friendly and approachable, but not overly cutesy, and usability was always the prime concern. A nice weight range with matching italics was a must, along with useful OpenType features, and various figure styles. This is a display family first and foremost, but is also comfortable at smaller sizes for longer copy, and so works well in a supporting role to a more exuberant titling font.

DM PopCap is the third typeface released by DM Founts. It was created to accompany a 2013 LEGO-based project, which itself was inspired by the music video for Scream by Michael and Janet Jackson. I had to create the typeface in order to make title cards, as no such typeface appeared to exist. Although the resulting typeface looks similar to the text appearing in the music video, I also set myself the challenge of creating the remaining characters of the alphabet, as well as others that some would find useful. As suggested by the music video, the typeface would be ideal for a futuristic or technological setting, particularly concerning space travel. In the project I had paired this typeface with Myriad Pro. As with my other offerings, this font is intended for use heading or standalone title use - but it also appears to work on its own for small paragraphs of text.

We want to create a different feel for the stencil font style. Usually stencil fonts are synonymous with military, retro and bold characters, but here we created the Kronaby font with an elegant and attractive stencil style for a modern design, combined with a subtle swash. Peachi is a serif typeface loosely based on Morris Fuller Benton’s Souvenir forms and some other serif fonts designed in the early 1900s. It has a soft look - round corners, slightly curved legs of capital K, R, V and W; and lowercase k, v, w and y. My eldest son Sam always wanted to visit Japan and he has been saving up for a ticket for years now. We should have traveled there this year, but due to the pandemic, that was impossible. We’re now trying to go next year. Sam and I did make some kind of itinerary and I told him how we were going to get around, as I have been to Japan many times. I told him about the Shinkansen trains, the cute Tram in Nagasaki and the immense subway system in Tokyo. One of the lines in Tokyo is the so-called Yamanote Circle Line, which I have used on numerous occasions. A new font name was born and it stuck to this particular font! Subway Circle is a 100% handmade font. It is rounded, slightly slanted and comes with a sunny disposition. I am sure that, when you use it, you will find your 生きがい… ;-)
