In the early days of printing everything had to be worked out from scratch. This set of lettering is based on section headings used by the Printer Lucas Brandis (no known relation), the first printer to operate in the city of Lübeck around 1473. They remind me of a medieval version of the spray paint graffiti so often seen on the sides of trains. A bit on the crude side, but also and importantly extremely noticeable. So whether you use it for creating old styled printing or some wild modern eye grabbing text item, its robust and sturdy shapes will be certain to grab the eye.

This is my first fontrelease in 2021, and it's one of those "things will get better soon" kinda fonts (Here I am thinking about 2020, which was a year I am glad we just left!) Anyway, the first thing I ate in 2021 (not counting the "kransekage" after midnight) was a delicious and lovely tuna sandwich - or as I called it: Party Toast! Heh-heh! :) Well, it is a playful font with it's jumpy and slightly quirky letters. I've added 5 different versions of each letter and they automatically cycles as you type. Ribbon Cursive was developed largely from Mercator's Italic Hand, which originated from Italy, during the Renaissance. Ribbon Cursive is fancy, legible, and luxurious text. Kuppa is a yummy display unicase with a lot of attitude. Two styles within the Kuppa family a like brothers — look alike and still completely different. Found within the pages of the 1934 edition of the American Type Foundry’s “Book of American Type” is a sans serif design with rounded terminals that emulates a typewriter face. “Jumbo Typewriter” is reminiscent of the type of lettering formerly found on teletype news copy. “Teletype” was a division of Western Electric (part of AT&T), and the machines utilized telephone lines to electronically type and send (as well as receive) messages worldwide. Many folks will remember the sound of teletype machines in the background when radio stations had their news breaks. Now available digitally as News Copy JNL, it is available in both regular and oblique versions.

100.000 years ago years ago, a group of mad scientists from the far away planet ZyrXX, encountered the earth and just waited to conquer the planet. Their masterplan was to use electronic brain waves to manipulate our minds. Sounds cheesy and comic, right? Well, that is the true story about this font. The font was built using a grid (hence the name!) and all I had in mind, was a mixture of old sci-fi movies and computer graphics from the 80ies. I did my best to recall and re-create this - I will let you be the judge to decide whether I succeeded! :)

Ok, so many of you are now probably wondering if I am a teenager. Nope. But I was once, and I had alot of pent up angst like alot of other teens, and maybe this typeface is my outlet for what is left of those teenage days of mine. The origin of AM Floriana is already several decades ago. At a time when there was no photo set and the choice of metal type fonts was still very manageable, Alois Menacher received an order to design a custom business logo from a flower shop. He then created a hand-drawn lettering based on the form of leaves and plants. Now Alois Menacher professionally designed and developed AM Floriana on the basis of this lettering. AM Floriana is ideally suited for packaging design, as well as for display design and logo design. AM Floriana is available as a Bold version and will soon be complemented by further cuts.

Bovary is an elegant, stylized and expressive script font inspired by those beautiful calligraphies of yesteryear, but in a modern point of view. Bovary is full of personality! When I designed it, I started from the Clauques Script. Therefore, Bovary can be perfectly combined with Clauques Sans. Bovary includes almost 900 glyphs with many stylistic variations, swashes, ending and initial forms, catchwords and ligatures for both uppercase and lowercase, assuring almost infinite combination possibilities. In addition, the font includes a set of very useful ornaments to combine and give an ornamental aspect to the calligraphic text. All our fonts are carefully controlled and tested in both aspects: readability and technical aspects. We deal with the kerning pairs, optimization of hinting information to avoid pixel grid, and the precise programming of the OpenType features; as well as drawing smooth curves points and the final touch of each glyph. Remember that to access to all additional characters, you must use software that is truly compatible with OpenType, such as Adobe CS applications, or we recommend using the Glyphs palette.

The Comic-Script by ingoFonts In the past cartoons used to be lettered by hand. Hardly anyone does this today. The reason is, because hardly anyone has nice handwriting these days, so there are practical advantages in having a special font. However the font should still look like it’s been written by hand. Well, most script fonts don’t meet this requirement. The LeDrôle Lettering is a computer font, but closely resembles genuine handwriting. The model for the LeDrôle Lettering is my personal handwriting, as can be seen on the example of the Biró Script, which is also an ingoFont. The habit of capitalization comes from the Romanic and Anglo-Saxon countries. Depending on the purpose they are designed in three significantly bolder weights. In order for the typeface to actually look handwritten, it needs to have clearly visible irregularities. These are not found only in the shapes of the individual letters. Even though LeDrôle Lettering is all in capital letters, the characters of uppercase and lowercase letters are clearly different. Additionally, many alternative shapes are used, which are automatically applied when the OpenType “Ligatures” feature is activated. Thus, there are no identical double letters or numerals, and many character combinations are defined as ligatures with alternative forms.
