Trovoada Mono is a monospaced font for use in print (but also looks great on display). Hand-drawing glyph by glyph, my intention was to get that old manual typewriter look, with uneven inks, but with a totally up-to-date, emotional and admittedly humorous attitude. Trovoada Mono borrows from classics like Courier and Letter Gothic, reinventing serifs here and there. The result is a font that is both familiar and unusual. As I love Greek typography, I made sure to include a full polytonic alphabet, in the same vintage spirit: the text looks very legible and matches the Latin characters. The font has no kerning, obviously, and no ligatures (this is a typewriter, my friend!), but it has important OpenType features: fractions, subscripts/superscripts, slashed zero and stylistic alternatives for some characters. The italics are 11 degrees, which brings a strong personality. Some characters have true italics, giving the text an overall texture different from the upright type. All that is missing is that nervous typewriter noise. Enjoy!

Geometron has its origin in a custom typeface that I was commissioned to design for an architectural project. The concept was a "back to basics", minimalist typeface constructed mainly with straight lines and circles or circular arcs, but without departing from the classical style of Roman & Greek lettering. Notable requirements were: an extensive character set needed for multi-language documentation, as well as a full collection of symbols and alternate glyph forms (e.g. superiors & inferiors) for scientific use. Special care was taken to obviate the almost identical similarities that were prone to appear between letters like uppercase "i" and lowercase "L" or between Latin and Greek letters such as "a" and "alpha". This was also a prerequisite for scientific notation where ambiguity is not acceptable. All in all, the font would have to blend a modern design with a wealth of functional features. Consequently, all of these were made possible by choosing the OpenType format for development, resulting in a comprehensive and feature-rich font family specifically targeted for use in high-end design/typesetting applications.

Melodi is the result of years of working with hand made types on my designs. Every time I draw the letters and words that I need for every design piece. One day I decided to go serious and make a real type of it and “Melodi” is the result of this work. It’s a calligraphic font, built using a regular stroke, and carefully crafted to have nice joins between all the letters. It has some playful but stylish capitals that brings lot of personality to the font. It work super nice either in lowercase writing as in all-caps texts. It looks specially good on lists of words or small sentences. Melodi is a playful but very versatile font, it can be used in lots of different scenarios. One of the most unusual sets of antique stencils spotted for sale online comprises a set of twenty-four classic logos of early 20th Century automobile companies. For whatever purpose that is now lost to time, these stencils represented the logos of many of America's finest auto manufacturers; most now just historical memories. The logos were painstakingly redrawn, maintaining the distinctive look of the hand made cutting, although it was an exacting process - some of the images were taken at an angle, and a bit of artistic license had to be used as a compensatory factor. Labyrindo is inspired on the classic Labyrinth. The oldest known labyrinth is 3200 years old and is to be found in Greece. The mythological king Minos held the monstrous son of his wife ‘Minotaurus’ prison in a labyrinth. Much later the labyrinth made his appearance in the medieval churches, this time as a pattern on the church floor. During the Italian renaissance the multiple gate labyrinth came in fashion. Paths led trough green hedges in beautiful palace gardens. These hedges where perfectly cut in rectangular shapes. Mainly meant as an aesthetic statement. Besides the origin of the physic labyrinth, it has always been a great source of story-telling and myths. I mention a few personal favourites (film) like, Pan’s Labyrinth (a journey to the underworld), Labyrinth (with David Bowie) and the Shining with Jack Nicholson (where a horrific scene takes place in a labyrinth). Not the most cheerful stories but fascinating and intriguing. A Labyrinth is mind boggling and mysterious but wonderful. I made graphic translation in this typeface.

Isabel SemiCondensed, together with Isabel condensed and Isabel were made out of necessity to create a new font for children and teenagers, that could be enough friendly and versatile for text in words or even easy-to- read long texts. The purpose of Isabel is to combine all the nice and friendly features of the simple letters that the teachers teach to the pupils at primary school, as they starting to learn to read, together with the normal editorial fonts we read every day. In this way it generates a very joyful serif font, or even friendly font, with some conservative aspects. In other words, Isabel is a font that, despite of being a “classic features” typography, is proud to show its innocent and ingenuous elements, this gives to the font a new point of view. VTC Bloke is a revival of Miller & Richard’s classic metal typeface, ‘Egyptian Expanded’, including the three-dimensional, ‘Open’ style that was later introduced to the family. The roots of this typeface stem from the UK, where William Miller and his son-in-law Richard had their initial foundry in Edinburgh, Scotland. In addition to the beautiful and timeless type designs, the foundry gained a reputation for offering super small type sizes, designed for Bibles, dictionaries, documents, etc. Slab Serifs (or Egyptian Serifs) started to gain popularity in the early 19th century. It’s around this time, due to emerging industrial technologies, and an ever-expanding advertising industry, that type designers started to really experiment with letterforms that could help their clients distinguish themselves from the competitor, and catch people's eyes. The size of posters and advertising space was getting bigger, and bigger, and so was the type. All original letterforms have been re-drawn and cleaned up, with some more modern glyphs and characters added in. VTC Bloke supports Adobe Latin 1 Language Support.
