Spiggie is a sans-serif, whose name came to me on a Shetland beach. The beach traces a tight curve between the shoreline and the sea paralleled in the fonts controlled yet smooth character. The design language reaches back to the art deco period and the 1920s, yet retains a distinct modern flavor.

With packaging in the back of my mind I created Crema only in one specific weight. But there are 3 styles from the connected Forte to the quiet Piano. You can see Schoko the other packaging scripts I designed everywhere in the supermarkets. And I am looking forward to see Crema as well.

One good pun is worth a simple description… Nondescript JNL… 'Non' - not. 'de' - of, in Spanish. script - a cursive (handwritten) letter form. So… while nondescript generally means lacking any defining description, in this case it also means "not of a script"… which is precisely what a typeface such as this one is!

Well, I recently heard the song "Even flow" by Pearl Jam and took a trip down memory lane - back to my early twenties. I remember how the lyrics affected me, and had an impact on how my life changed the years to follow. Maybe the style of the font does not reflect the inner meaning of the song, but it does reflect a look back in time for me - and the change that took place.
