The Balistine font, a combination of modern and slightly taking elements of 80s era in some lowercase curves such as "a b d q w and there are several alternative letters found in Balistine. By carrying a weight of 20 Balistine can easily be used for wider exploration. Let's start design.

Here’s a jaunty little Art Deco sans serif type design inspired by the headline of a feature article on Carole Lombard found in the August, 1937 issue of Hollywood magazine. This served as the inspirational model for Movie Star Deco JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Monotype Hei3 PRC is a modulated and transitional Chinese design with structure, diǎn, piē and nà carry Song style, while horizontal & vertical strokes are relatively simple. This mix of ancient and modern elements with low contrast is something that you can find in wood carving: rigid while balanced with softness

Illuminations Woodcut is inspired by the decorated initial capitals of Medieval manuscripts… and an old book of clip art in which they were found. Try decomposing them in Adobe Illustrator and coloring the pieces or dropping color into them in Photoshop: you can get some stunning results. Caps and TrueType only.

In the 1960 edition of Sam Welo’s “Studio Handbook – Letter and Design for Artists and Advertisers” you’ll find a bold, hand lettered Art Deco sans serif typeface designed by Welo with a decidedly 1930s-1940s look. This is now available as Pastry Shop JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

This font was inspired by Arts and Crafts lettering found on the cover of the Austrian journal Ver Sacrum (Sacred Spring), 1898. Primarily an uppercase-only font, there are several variants in lowercase positions. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Authentic copy of the original, with a couple of minor changes to the caps, making them fit better. Although made for the American market by an American typefounder, we found this font in a York, England printshop when we went on a second visit to the famous DeLittle Wood Type factory.

Redrawn from lettering found on a British publication circa the 1930s, Retail Price JNL is an extra bold display inline sans that’s great for catchy headlines, price cards, banners or any other attention-getters. According to the two most popular statistics companies in England and North America, eight out of every ten people like to dance. Talk about useless information! But with such a market statistic, we thought there would be some collections of dingbats out there with dancers in them. And surprise, surprise; we found not even one! So this was our opportunity to be the first to issue such a collection, and we are very pleased with the results. Dancebats is a font of 75 silhouettes of people dancing. All kinds of dancing. Ballet, techno, slam, rock, swing, aerobic, hip hop, jump, lounge, and much more. Take a close look at the silhouettes and find out why these are shapes that belong on every party design, bar none. Amitale (A-mi-tah'-lay) is the union of Amitale Book and Amitale Wide into a new 8-font book family in my continuing objective of designing a better font family for readability in booklets. My goal here is for a full range of styles from light, regular, bold, and black without the plugged counters and clunky feel of most bold fonts. In my use, personally. I do not use Amitale Book Bold. I use Wide for the bold and Wide-Bold for the black style. In many ways, Amitale is Brinar with bracketed serifs. Many people find Brinar to be an exceptionally readable and beautiful humanist sans. This new serif font family has many of the same characteristics. This is also the debut of my new OpenType features set for 2009. There are more and more ligatures for your fun and enjoyment: bb gg ff fi fl ffi ffl ffy fj ft tt ty Wh Th and more. Like all of my fonts, there are: caps, lowercase, small caps, proportional lining figures, proportional oldstyle figures, & small cap figures, plus numerators, denominators, superiors, inferiors, and a complete set of ordinals 1st through infinity.

Lunanic is a geometric novelty typeface family with a touch of graffiti. The letters are formed from a circle with a notch or nick taken out, a shape that reminds me of a partial lunar eclipse. Half of the family have the nick on the left and half on the right. The faces are monospaced and so tightly spaced that there is no space between most of the letters so the filled styles cannot be used alone without tweaking. There are several ways to tweak them to make them readable: adjacent letters can be colored differently, the characters spacing can be increased, or an outlined style can be layered on top of the filled letters. The family does not have a true lower case. Most of the characters in the lower-case slots are alternates for those on the upper-case keys and they can be mixed in whatever way the user finds best. The family has twelve members: two orientations with three weights each and each of these six has an outline style to go with it. Lunanic is fun, bizarre, weird, and obviously a decorative display font.
