A comprehensive and faithful rendition of one of the finest metal typefaces of the 20th century. Rudolf Koch designed Wilhelm Klingspor Schrift (initially conceived as “Missal Schrift”, and later referred to also as “Wilhelm Klingspor Gotisch”) between 1919 and 1925 for the Gebr. Klingspor Type Foundry in Offenbach am Main. It is an impressive textura typeface, being sharp, elegant, spiky, sensitive and noble at the same time. Some of its most notable features have to do with the delicate decorations, the thin but subtly swelling lines that parallel or bridge strokes in the capitals, the hairline endings that terminate each stroke in both the capitals and the lowercase letters, the subtle joining of hairlines to thicker strokes, and the tension of some of the transitional curves. Koch’s original design included two sets of capitals (normal and condensed); alternates for a, d, e, r, s and z, plus long s; short and long flourished finial forms for f and t; thirty-five ligatures; and eighteen decorative pieces (Zierstücke). All of these features, plus several additional ones for modern use (including the usual standard characters for typesetting in modern Western languages, additional alternates and ligatures, plus carefully coded Opentype features), have been thoroughly implemented to the highest and most lively level of detail in the present font, in the hope that the past greatness of Wilhelm Klingspor Schrift will finally step into the modern OpenType realm. The main sources used during the font design process were several pages from a specimen book issued by the Gebr. Klingspor Type Foundry in 1927. Other sources were as follows: Bain, P., and Shaw, P. (Eds.) (1998), Blackletter: Type and National Identity, New York: Princeton Architectural Press (p. 43); Hendlmeier, W. (1994), Kunstwerke der Schrift, Hannover: Bund für Deutsche Schrift und Sprache (pp. 56-7); Kapr, A. (1983), Schriftkunst, Dresden: VEB Verlag der Kunst (p. 453); Kapr, A. The 1957 French publication “La Letra Dans La Peinture et la Publicite” (“The Letter tn the Painting and Advertising”) had an illustration of split-serif letters and numbers with a decidedly Western feel. This is now available as Horse Thief JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Visual Fantasy is a great, all caps display font. It was based on an old font of mine called Plakkaat, which was made using a flat brush and acrylic paint. Visual Fantasy is great for poster work, book covers and product packaging. Comes with extensive language support.

Created in Minneapolis in 1996, Chunder is inspired by the hand-painted cursive signage of urban boutiques where a shopkeeper can't afford to hire a very good sign painter. Kinda clunky, kinda flowery. Like beer spilled on a daffodil. "It's not pretty, but it's mine," says Chank.

Fela family was designed for books and posters for young children to gain high readability and nice feeling. Every glyph was hand drawn and shaped for better result. This typeface consists of different alternate glyphs with special automatic script, many special characters for different languages and pictograms.

The opening title sequence for the 1958 film “The Long, Hot Summer” was hand lettered in a free-form style as if painted with loose paintbrush strokes. This served as the model and inspiration for Summertime Breeze JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Wild and carefree, the MardiKrewe Family is filled with spunk and personality. MardiKrewe started as a digitization of a film typeface called MardiGras by Lettergraphics. From there, this lively typeface was fleshed out to a full character set and expanded to a family of 5 widths: Extra Narrow, Narrow, Regular, Wide, and Extra Wide to fit a variety of funktastic needs.

Originally designed by Les Usherwood for a famous European car company, Elston Pro has been completely redrawn and remastered by Steve Jackaman and Ashley Muir. The new Elston Pro family has been fleshed out with a glyph set that is over 40% larger than the original Elston release, and contains all the high-end features expected in a quality OpenType Pro font.

MardiParty is a totally wild latin typestyle with inlines that grow out of it. Inspired by hand-lettering from a 1950's Haiti travel brochure, where the original lettering was just the word "Haiti", this font proved a fun challenge to flesh out. The end result, a funktastical tribute to its origins, perfect for any celebration themed invitations, logotypes, or outlandish branding.

Cookogram is a package of 50 pictograms which have been drawn in two styles - outline & solid. The pictogram set consists of cooking and eating utensils, pots, pans, glasses, bottles and crockery.

"Fibula" has a surprising and lively effect? The design is based on the form of a safety-pin. Fibula display font offers designers creative alternatives to create brands, packaging and titles.

I will spare you the long-winded description this time and all of the motivations and witty innuendoes. Quite frankly, I forgot about creating this typeface and it sat on my hard drive for almost a year. Luckily, my daughter Isobel saw the initial drawings one day and ask me about those pretty letters and I remembered… yep, that happened. That said, time made this a better typeface… with fresh eyes and time, much was redrawn, retooled and expanded to something I truly enjoy playing with. Shameless makes extensive use of Contextual alternates to create a proper ebb and flow from letter to letter. Interestingly, there are only a handful of ligatures… instead many special combinations are accounted for solely by relying on Contextual Alts. Mix in Stylistic Alts, Swashes, responsive Titling Alts, numerous Style Sets, etc and you can have a lot of fun. I created 2 versions. A ‘Standard’ version that has 2200+ characters and a ‘Deluxe’ version that has 2400+ characters and an interesting caveat… I plan on expanding the Deluxe version any time I have an idea to add to the typeface… and as such, buyers will receive all of those updates at no charge (with updates going directly to the distributors). You get what you pay for… no insane discounts. Oh, and if you are wondering… Shameless is based on my handwriting using Kuretake Zig CocoIro pens. I love these pens.

The hand lettered credits from the 1950 Humphrey Bogart film “In a Lonely Place” inspired the digital version called Screenwriter JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The font was named after the profession of the main character (Dixon Steele) who was a Hollywood screenwriter.
