SPECX Stencil This is my #11/12 Font a slabserif typeface. In fact it’s a very, very basic and extreme strong typeface! We gave this new Font a special touch by adding an extra family-member: a stencil-version of the SPECX. My inspiration for the SPECX is based on the cover of a 1955 French School-Notebook. Mark van Bronkhorst’s MVB Sacre Bleu was inspired by an example of French handwriting from the 1930s. Framboisier means ‘Rasberry Bush’ in French. Even though it’s early spring, I already spotted raspberries at the greengrocers, so I figured a nice raspberry-related name would suit this font just fine. Framboisier is a hand painted script font. It’s a little messy, a little shaky, but legible and cute as well. Comes with all the diacritics and a whole bunch of alternate glyphs.

Spur Wide JNL was modeled from an example of hand lettering from the antique French alphabet book L'Art du Tracé Rationnel de la Lettre. Heavy Roman style letters with spurs (often referred to as Latin) were most popular with sign painters and show card writers in the early part of the 20th century. Spur Wide JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Prismatiq JNL was modeled from lettering found in a French alphabet book from the turn of the last century - the type sample appearing online at an image sharing site. All of the imperfections of hand-lettering were left intact. This is a limited character set comprising A-Z, 1-0, basic punctuation, forward slash and dollar and cents signs, and is best used in large headline applications.

This font was inspired by the hand-written 1648 Munster peace treatise signed by French King Louis XIV and German emperor Ferdinand II. It is a Cancellaresca font style, meticulously written and almost legible. This script font was inspired by a lot of manuscripts, notes and drafts, written by the famous french novelist Émile Zola (1840-1902). Specially, letters and notes from the period he was writting "Germinal" one of his very famous novel (published in 1884-1885) depicting the french minor's life in the past middle of eighteens. It is an elegant pen written type, sometimes connected, sometimes disrupted, but always regular and legible, with many variants, ligatures and contextual alternate glyphs specialy numerous in the OTF version. It is used as variously as web-site titles, posters and fliers design or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, menus, certificates, letters. This font, in spite of its small size, supports very strong enlargements as well as small sizes ( the original size was about 22 to 30 pts ). When printed, it remain perfectly legible and elegant from 12/14 pts even if using an ordinary inkjet printer.

The name “Parchemin” is derived from the word in old English for “parchment.” Our modern word “parchment” changed its spelling to conform with French spelling practices during the French occupation of England. The font was created to suggest an informal but antique form of handwriting written on parchment with a quill pen. The scratchiness of the old quill pen is conveyed in the roughness of the characters. The font was loosely based on the font Queen. Use this font whenever you want to suggest rough informality or antique handwriting. The characters have been letter-spaced and kerned in such a way that they join perfectly with one another giving a completely convincing imitation of genuine handwriting. The font is fully professional in terms of its character set. In 1066, William, duke of Normandy, was invading England. He was demanding the crown for himself, against King Harold the Saxon. He killed Harold and reached the crown at Hastings, the well-known battlefield. A few years later, in Bayeux (Normandy, French)was displayed a large tapestry (almost 70 m long) who was telling the story of the conquest. Along the tapestry was written a comment in Latin, using Roman capitals influenced a little by English or Scandinavian style (as it is visible in the Eth character). We have created the font, inspired from this design, adapted for contemporary users, making difference between U and V, I and J, which has not any relevance for ancient Latin scribes, and naturally with Thorn, Oslash, Lslash... and usual accented characters did not exist at the time. We also have reconstructed the K, German double s and Z, always using patterns of the time. We have scrupulously respected the poetic irregular and distressed original forms with two or three alternate for each characters, including reconstructed numerals.

When the Adventures of Max Faraday began in the pages of Wildstorm Comics' DIVINE RIGHT in the mid-'90s, this chapter title font materialized, eventually reappearing on the covers of WOLVERINE. Delicately crafted by Mister Fontastic himself, John Roshell claims this font was the product of Divine Inspiration. When told he'd been looking at the work of too many French Poster Artists, he dismissed such allegations as Mucha do about nothing.

The origin of this family is the classic French-Belgian comics. The screams and onomatopoeia of these comics have so much personality that I needed to create a typeface family that would allow the designer to really replicate them.
