A friend once jokingly told me that what I really do is mine extinct arts for parts to use in modern things, like going to the scrapyard to pick up bumpers, quarter-panels and dashboards off of Datsuns and Ponies to build a shiny new Ferrari. I still kind of grin at that, but I certainly do spend a lot of time looking at old things and imagining ways they would work today. This shiny new Ferrari here is called Bibliophile, and it contains scrap heap parts from various pages by Louis Prang, the Prussian-American printer and publisher who inspired my Prangs fonts. This is my second engagement with the late 19th century man, and it’s quite a bit more intricate than just an italic Didone with a connected lowercase. Bibliophile marries Round Hand calligraphy with Italian capitals, two styles not often relayed in the same alphabet, but work together beautifully when combined well. When you combine them well with a few long-practised tricks of the trade, then mix in a few trusted features from my previous work over the years, you get my usual crazy exuberance, like 17 different shapes for the d, 21 different forms for the y, endings, beginnings, swashes, ornaments, and so on. It’s no secret that I can get carried away when I’m so consumed by an idea. — Bibliophile comes in 2 weights, each of them with over 900 glyphs covering all the latin languages. Bibliophile also comes with a bold weight, something I’m always reluctant to do with something as adventurous and complex as the structure of this historical mashup. But I couldn’t chase away the idea of increasing the contrast while maintaining the hairlines in a lowercase this narrow. Part of it was the curiosity about the outcome, and part was the sheer challenge of it. I think it turned out OK. Words set in either weight will show delicateness and elegance, and the more time you spend inside the font and micro-manage the setting, the more ways you will find to magnify either. Bibliophile can be as muted or luxurious as you want it to be. This is the kind of alphabet that fits well in fashion marketing and high-end packaging, from the very subdued to the super-exquisite. Cyberglass JNL is a throwback design to the Techno rage of the 1980s, when everything seemed to be typeset in lettering that represented something to do with computers, electronics or outer space.

Delator font is a display typeface, inverted contrast, and condensed. Inspired by the personal experience of the designer who, with resilience and daily struggle, managed to get ahead. Its name is linked to the song of an Argentine rock artist called "Corazón delator", this means that it is a typeface that does not go unnoticed, it attracts attention for its shapes and its way of being and above all, when it is present, it automatically "gives itself away".

Lewis F. Day, in his book Alphabets Old and New, offered this typeface as an example from sixteenth-century England of lettering incised in wood. The font is essentially monocase, but there several lowercase letters are alternate letterforms. Please note that, due to the ornate nature of the letterforms, this font does not contain math operators, fractions or superior numbers. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin and 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan) character sets.

Kanna Aoki had fairy tales in mind when she designed MVB Greymantle. She drew dots with a felt pen to build up the forms, giving them their particular rough character. The “Extras” font contains a set of whimsical illustrations, including a portrait of Greymantle—her 18-pound cat, a set of curly initial caps, and border parts.  MVB Greymantle has been spotted on numerous children's books, in magazines, in salad dressing advertisements, and on food packaging.

[D]ONLINE is the first font family designed by Don Citarella for his blog, [D]ONLINE, and was created to provide a signature feel for its namesake. It combines a strong, medium stroke with arching end caps to embue the typeface with a futuristic curvilinear feel. This display font is best used for headlines, identities, wordmarks and other instances involving minimal copy and maximal whitespace The typeface includes 300 characters, including 45 accented glyphs and 30 ligatures.

You may already have guessed it...Litter Funk is experimental typography. Some letters are fat blocks, others have stars, stripes or dots, some are funny and funky while others are plain weird - but all in all, they leave a really nice confusing effect when used. Due to the contextual alternates, each letter comes in 5 different versions, and automatically cycle as you type. Well, the font was fun to make - I hope you have fun using it! :)

Momotarō is a Japanese legend about a boy who came to earth inside a giant peach. He was found by a childless woman and grew up to be a hero. I'm in a Japanese mood - mainly because lately I have been working with brushes and ink a lot. Momotaro font is a very detailed brush font. It doesn't come with a hero inside a giant peach, but it does give your design work that extra oomph, ahh and wow.

At the end of the 1931 gangster film “The Public Enemy” a hand lettered card offers up an afterword on the demise of Tom Powers (James Cagney’s character in the film) and how a “public enemy” is neither a man nor a character but a problem society must deal with. The text is in an Art-Deco influenced sans serif, and has been digitally recreated as Afterword JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Linotype Dharma is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of the International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. G. Jakob and J. Meißner designed this font with an ornamental character, for example, with diagonal slashes as umlauts or dots on the i and j and the triangular serifs on the upper left of both letters and numerals. Such details make for a restless font, best used for short headlines in large point sizes.

Borrowdale is a valley and civil parish in the English Lake District. In the 16th century a major deposit of graphite was discovered near Seathwaite, which kickstarted the pencil industry. Borrowdale font was made with one of my son's coloring pencils (which probably does not contain a single molecule of graphite). It is a very legible and easy-on-the-eye font, ideal for children's books, texts and product packaging. Comes with a mother lode of diacritics.

Today has been a busy day. I managed to take the dog for a walk, go for a run, empty the dishwasher, clean the car, vacuum the entire apartment AND make this font! :) The Busy Day font is all about fun and games: it’s playful, whimsical and legible at the same time. I’ve added an Outline version, Inside and the Regular version. They all work well together or as individual fonts - and they all have multilingual support!

This font has been developed based on the engraving by the German artist Daniel Hopfer (1470-1536) listing the Latin ABC. While creating the font I tried to preserve the archaism and certain imperfection characteristic for the prototype to accentuate its charm. Fanciful convolution on the serif make it a bit fairy-tale like and cheerful. The font is also available with decorated dots as in the original version. All the letters in the font are capital.

Brak is the dutch word for ‘brackish’, the mix of fresh and salten sea water found in river deltas and estuaries. Brak is also VetteLetters’ straightforward display font with straight lines and rounded ends, and comes in two weights. It does really well in sea food dishes like fish, lobster, mussels and shrimps. Brak doesn't beat around the bush, it is an all-caps typeface with alternative capital letterforms assigned to the lowercase positions, for a variety of combinations.

Kuroneko in Japanese means ‘ Black Cat’. I was working on a Japan itinerary for a friend and I told him about the luggage forwarding service by a company with a black cat in its logo. Wait: Black Cat? What’s that in Japanese? Cool name for a font! Kuroneko font will not forward your luggage, nor was it made in Japan. But it IS a very versatile font family - even if you’re more of a dog person.

1955 Is a fresh grotesque interpretation. Any detail too historically referenced is replaced by strong geometry and idiosyncratic features. Round dots and punctuation, curved “l” foot, single storey “g” etc. all these details make 1955 a very contemporary typeface (unlike the name suggests!). With a range of weights going from Thin to Black including Italics, OpenType Features, extended character-set, tailored for print and digital, 1955 has everything to become your new go-to typeface for every project!

CTM Sans is a typeface of the grotesk category, it is designed based on a previous Herokid typeface, but with greater freedom to creative tastes and at the same time with more rebellion and errors (quite a few, but well-intentioned) than its predecessor. This makes Bellavista a somewhat messy clone, for the grotesk style. This font does not seek to be a correct typography, but rather fun and useful for the designer. I hope you like it

Stonecrop is a font unified by bold, imposing lines as well as its use of rounded rectangles as the central stylistic shape. Stonecrop loosely conforms to the monospaced font style, with near-equal widths for all letters and numbers (but not all symbols/punctuation), however it does incorporate kerning for all types of glyphs where appropriate to aid in legibility. A perfect font for usages that demand consistency and precision, while still maintaining a quirky and stylized handwritten effect.

In a much needed break from complex scripts and polished packaging fonts, Koziupa and Paul decide to show their playful side. Chicle is bold, stretchable, kid-proof, pet-resistant letters. This font is made to take the abuse of software used to put together the elaborate, attention-scrambling artwork of candy, cereal, and toy packaging, or whatever boxed obscenity contains cat and dog treats. Chicle is Spanish for bubble gum. It's a definite sugar fix — no substitutes.

Fido Pro is the official font of dog owners everywhere. Woof! When the original Fido font was published in 2009, it became an instant hit with cartoon channels, comic book artists, toy makers, cereal packagers and game developers. Now, more than a decade later, we decided to pick it up and give it the Pro treatment. This new version boasts more than 800 glyphs, including 117 interlocking ligatures, plenty of alternate glyphs, and and Pan-European language support.

Artù ! Strano ma vero, strange but true. A beautiful, intelligent and lively Italian dog and a great friend, unfortunately no longer among us ... but his memory lingers. A typeface designed in Rosennano (Tuscany), its Italian, but executed in Amsterdam. This monospace typeface might prove to be extremely useful for household products like washing powder or any anything like that. Just use it in your designs, let it live! Euroque is the 23rd font family from Cozyfonts Foundry, a California Foundry established in 2012 by designer and typographic illustrator Tom Nikosey Euroque began with pencil sketches, as all my fonts trace their beginnings. Influenced by European poster art of the 1920s and 1930s Euroque takes its name almost literally, European Style. These fonts are designed as a Small Caps Family, where the lower case mirrors the Upper case in design but its weights are compatible and consistent.

Hi, introducing a smooth vintage font - Pinup New. It has a nice tasty shape with a tiny separate accents. Pinup New font supports most of the european languages and also has ukrainian cyrillic characters. Pinup New consists of three fonts with separate accents for more convenient manipulating and recoloring. I love riding English double decker buses! I haven’t been on one lately, but for some reason I had an image of a red double decker bus in my head when I made this font. Doubledecker is a bold, cartoon-like, handmade font. It comes in regular and dots, plus a bonus doodle font called Doubledecker Stuff. Use it for any design that needs a tad of loud, a pinch of unusual and a wee bit of polka.

Herb is based on 16th century cursive broken scripts and printing types. Originally designed by Tim Ahrens in the MA Typeface Design course at the University of Reading, it was further refined and extended in 2010. The idea for Herb was to develop a typeface that has the positive properties of blackletter but does not evoke the same negative connotations – a type that has the complex, humane character of fraktur without looking conservative, aggressive or intolerant.
