Beauvoir is based on a sample of Art Nouveau period hand-drawn poster lettering designed by Chicago designer Frank Atkinson. The original sample was limited, so we extrapolated from it and added new characters and character variations to make the final result more interesting.

The origins of the font Versailles go back to the 19th century in France when, with the introduction of lithography, alphabets could contain freer forms. The basic forms are Modern Face with triangular serifs. The direct influence for Versailles was the writing on the back of the memorial to Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris Opera. Versailles is a classic font for advertisements, perfect for shorter texts and titles/headlines and it makes an impression of elegance and strength.

This font set is based on Frank Lloyd Wright's hand-lettering found on the Chicago Midway Gardens working drawings from 1913. This type of architectural lettering is a bit more casual than standard lettering found on most blueprints. It evokes the personality of Frank Lloyd Wright and complements the other fonts in the P22 FLW font series. Midway One and Midway Two can be used interchangeably to give a more naturalistic feeling of hand lettering. Vasili Vasilyevich Radlof or Wilhelm Radloff (Russian: Василий Васильевич Радлов; German: Wilhelm Radloff; 17 January 1837 - 12 May 1918) was a German-born Russian orientalist and founder of Turcology. Radloff is a German-born Russian Turcologist who researches the Turkish world from different perspectives, opens a new era in the history of Turkology by bringing them to light, and devoted 60 years of his 81-year life to these studies. He published his work known as Radloff's Atlas with a runic font specially developed for the Old Turkish Runic Alphabet. I made the Turkish Runic Font using Radloff's Atlas. I developed this Anglo Saxon Futhark font based on this font and adapted it to Anglo Saxon script.

Papillon Woodcuts is a digital revival of an ornate alphabet by French engraver Jean Michel Papillon dating back to 1760, when engraving was very fashionable in France. In the 1904 book “Letters & Lettering” by Frank C. Brown is a page of Roman style upper case letters entitled “Modern American Capitals – after Will Brady”. A new design inspired by the various mastheads used in children’s comic books in the United Kingdom, published by D.C. Thomson of Dundee, Scotland.

The 1955 British edition of the sheet music for Frank Sinatra's hit "I'm Walking Behind You" had its title hand lettered in a sans serif design straight out of the Art Deco era. This bold, condensed type style is now available as Top Tune JNL; in both regular and oblique versions.

This script font was inspired by the “Ronde” French script. It was in use from 1700s to 1900s (until 1960s in special circumstances) for registers, legal documents and texts, certificates, labels and other documents that must be particularly legible. Today in France, it is still being used for menus, advertising, and labels. The present version is a late 19th Century pattern. This font supports very strong enlargements as well as small sizes. When printed, it remains perfectly legible and elegant from 9/11 pts even if using an ordinary inkjet printer.

Burdigala is a clean-cut, modern yet classic typeface inspired by Didones and Aicher’s Rotis family. The Semi Serif is ideal for larger amounts of (printed) texts in brochures, magazines and books. It is slighty narrow in order to conserve space, but spacious enough to faciliate reading and overall clarity. PT Petroglyph™ was designed by Ekaterina Kulagina and licensed by ParaType in 2002. The type was created on the basis of petroglyphs (rock-carvings) that are known in 77 countries. They remained in a form of geometrical drawings in the caves of North Spain and France. Scientists claim that the radial spread-out of circles or center-pointed circles that are usually depicted show the development of solar symbolism at that period of time. We know for sure that such mysterious signs as drawings carved on rocks already existed 40 centuries ago.

Languedoc is a former province of France. Most of its territory lies in what is now the Occitanie region. My family and I love camping there and I figured I’d name a font after it! Languedoc is a beautiful and useful typeface: it is a handmade serif that is a bit rough around the edges, but very legible and fun to use. Saint Malo... etc. an historic guidebook for a journey through a part of (French) Brittany in 1820, and many other books. The present version contains 1820 Modern Normal and Italic, 1820 Modern Large Normal and 1820 Modern Narrow Normal, each style with small caps. This font may be used together with 1906 French News and/or 1906 Titrage.

In the 1921 work Letters and Lettering by Frank Chouteau Brown, these letterforms were offered as examples of typical medieval English fare. The font is all caps, but there are variant letterforms in all the lowercase positions. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

ITC Schizoid, from designer Frank Marciuliano, displays a stroke contrast which could not be larger, abrupt and uncompromising. Fine strokes turn into thick bars and create angular, consciously awkward forms. Nervous, unbalanced and amusing, Schizoid is an appropriate name for this font. The experimental ITC Schizoid is best used for headlines in print.

Basic Commercial is a family of fonts based on historical designs from the hot metal type era. First appearing around 1900, these designs were created by type designers whose names have not been recorded, but whose skills cannot be overlooked. These typefaces were popular among groups and movements as diverse as the Bauhaus, Dadaism, and the masters of Swiss/International-Style typography. They influenced a variety of later grotesque fonts, such as Helvetica and Univers. Basic Commercial was distributed for many years in the United States under the name Standard Series. The typeface worked its way into many aspects of daily life and culture; for instance, it became the face chosen for use in the New York City subway system’s signage. The Basic Commercial family members have a clear and objective design. Their forms exhibit almost nothing unusual, but remain both lively and legible nonetheless. Perhaps for this reason, Basic Commercial’s design has been popular with graphic designers for decades.
