Gorodets is a symbol font based on traditional wood-painting style from the town Gorodets on Volga river, Russia. The main motifs of it are decorative flowers, birds, horses and even people, drawn in special way and painted in black, red, blue and green. The Gorodets typeface consists of 60 manually traced images divided into two parts: filled and empty ones. Retail Script was designed by Vince Whitlock in 1987. It is a font with strong, dynamic base forms and very small ascenders and descenders, which makes a closed, solid overall image. Grotesca Negra is a charming sans serif with a flirt towards the Jugend era. Still its modern enough not to feel outdated. It is briefly inspired by a local typeface named Grotesca chupada negra, found in a Spanish edition of a type specimen book from the German Bauer type foundry. It has an angle on the horisontal strokes on many of the letters. It is one of many display face derived from book cover designs. Intended to work as a display typeface.

This face is a bit of a time traveler. It combines the lowercase from a font called simply Square Gothic from the 1888 James Conner’s Sons specimen book with the uppercase of Morris Fuller Benton’s 1932 monocase masterwork Agency Gothic, resulting in a high-tech typeface right at home in the twenty-first Century. Brick Lane is an picture font consisting of 52 detailed, hand drawn illustrations of people seen on Brick Lane, a street in the heart of the Bangladeshi community in the East End of London. It has over the last few years become the home of parts of the creative industries in London, mainly media, fashion and graphics. All illustrations are based on photographs taken on location over a period of time. The photographs are then hand traced to create high quality, detailed silhouettes.

Artscript was Sol Hess's "attempt to convert into rigid metal the graceful penmanship of the ancient scribe". This type of script is more common in digital from but when originally released in 1948, it required special handling to avoid breakage. Extensive alternates were added based on original Hess drawings and additional sources. Both versions are combined into the Opentype version along with an expanded Central European character set as well as ligatures, Swash/Alternates, fractions, superior/inferior numerals and ornaments.

Gábor Kóthay in Hungary has developed an archaic identity largely based upon lettering from a rare Type Specimen of the Jesuit Academy Press of Tyrnavia (1773). They have developed many baroque style typefaces of Hungarian derivation. Gábor wanted an authentic handwriting revival from that age as well. La Danse is a 'facsimile' font, based on the manuscript of an inventory found in the original Tyrnavia specimen. The manuscript was written in an archaic Latin alphabet therefore some modern interpretations have been inserted.

The lowercase ascenders and descenders of the Binner Gothic font are cut at an angle. Binner Gothic is a display face particularly useful where space is at a premium.

A sans-serif face in which the circular elements have become almost square, NewNerdish resembles a number of typefaces which have become associated with a modernistic, computer look. There is little or no variation in the weight of horizontals, diagonals, and verticals. It comes in two widths each with five weights and each weight has an oblique version, which has the same letter shapes as the upright version. The ShadowedInside style is designed to be used in a layer with the Shadowed style.

“Tsubu” (つぶ) means something small and round, like a fruit seed or a grain of rice in Japanese. All characters are completely geometric, consisting of no more than 5 x 12 dots, with a few exceptions. And proportional and monospace styles are available. It is recommended that letter spacing be set to 0 to maintain dot pitch. When the line height is set to 100%, the dot pitch is aligned horizontally and vertically, resulting in a beautiful geometric display.

Nantua is inspired by the Russian Constructivism from the early 1920s. Artists like Aleksandr Rodchenko used typography as forms. Nantua can be used with that very same principal. It's a very geometrical display font with hard edges. Used in big sizes it is very 'in your face'. Used in small sizes it tends to work like a compact background pattern. With very small inner forms, Nantua needs to be used in big sizes to be legible. It's preferably seen on posters or flyers.

The tale of Pumpkinseed began with a bit of hand-printing I noticed on the dinner menu at a local restaurant. I took a menu home for future reference. Several months later, some similar hand-lettering on another dinner menu caught my eye. I became a sort of connoisseur of hand-done menu lettering. After tweaking and adjusting a few of these menu-inspired (uppercase) characters, I placed them -- along with some other designs -- in an online Type in Progress survey. They won. So I finished the caps, drew out the lower case from scratch, created three weights and oblique styles. The result: Pumpkinseed, a full-featured casual hand-lettering face. Comes in Light, Medium, and Heavy.

Straight Line is essentially an outline Modern, but drawn without any curves whatsoever. Country Western is a revival of the classic William Page font known as Clarendon Ornamented originally designed in 1859 and again in 1877 by Vanderburgh & Wells. This version combines the best of both versions and adds something new. New to this font are the lowercase, italic, swash and script versions plus Greek and Cyrillic character sets. Keeping with the original theme from 1859 Fill fonts are available for the Ornamented and Open faced versions of this font. The Handel Gothic? typeface has been a mainstay of graphic communication for over 40 years - all the while looking as current as tomorrow. Designer Steven Skaggs wanted a versatile uncial typeface that was not simply decorative. Traditionally, a true uncial is a majuscule form, entirely lacking in ascenders and descenders. However, by designing Rieven Uncial, Skaggs found a way to use the true uncial as inspiration but retained a lowercase look and feel. Typically, uncials do not have italic forms but in order for Rieven to be a truly versatile face, it was imperative that it should be accompanied by an italic. The italic form owes much to the historical roots in the letra antigua cursiva of the 15th century humanist masters. Rieven Uncial was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design in the 2010 TDC2.

LoveDuets is a family of two novelty fonts that have letters on hearts. There are at least five other font families on myfonts that have have letters on hearts but LoveDuets differs from them because it uses the OpenType feature of Contextual Alternatives (calt) to put two letters on each heart, one on the left side and a second on the right side. The two styles in the family can be used in layers to increase color possibilities. The brace characters have empty half hearts that can be used to replace spaces or to complete hearts at ends of lines. LoveDuets can be used when hearts are appropriate such as for Valentines Day, anniversaries, and weddings.

Qi is a display sans-serif inspired, in part, by the art deco typefaces sometimes seen on old signs along rural American backroads. Unlike these signs, Qi is new, fresh, a little bit quirky, and not at all in need of repair or a fresh coat of paint. The family is comprised of six distinct fonts with more on the way. Jochen Schuss, the Biedenkopf, Germany, designer who was most recently responsible for ITC Vino Bianco, has created in ITC Whiskey a condensed display face that's both angular and soft at the same time. While the letterforms of Whiskey are clearly roman, there's a slight reminiscence of blackletter in the face's narrow proportions, its dark weight, and its persistent internal angle - not quite the 45 degrees common in a classic German textura, but a gentler angle of 25 or 30 degrees. And the counters are all rounded, as are the ends of all the strokes, giving Whiskey a comfortable friendliness despite its severe structure. The character set includes an alternate z" and an "ft" ligature."
