“Victoria Underwood” was found within the pages of the 1923 American Type Founders specimen book. I arrived this concept as a means to fulfil a need for a simple yet radical semi-sans with rounded terminals. My concept called for a modular approach so a single weight font family resulted, the monoline stroke weights being one-eighth of the cap height and the x-height five-eights, the descent two units. Within these constraints I found it was simple to devise an alphabet which met my need for quirkiness whilst retaining its legibility. As for the outline, shadow and contour variants - well they just seem to work. Fette Deutsche Schrift also known as Koch-Fraktur or Kochschrift was created by Rudolf Koch for Klingspor foundry between 1908 and 1910. The basis of this font is a publication in the magazine “Das Plakat” of September 1921. Gardner Sans is a humanist sans serif with a range of weights, italics, small caps stylistics alternates and a set of decorative ornaments. The light and regular faces work at smaller sizes and the heavier weights are good for display lettering. It is inspired by a few historical sources including Stephenson Blakes' Granby, Gill Sans, as well as some old hand-done lettering for sales tickets. The name (and the basis for the small caps) derives in-particular from the Roy Gardner collection of sales tickets from early 20th century that can be found on spitalfieldslife.com The heavier weights were particularly influenced by a later cut of Gill Sans, Extra Bold 321. The italic is more of a contemporary mix of humanist styles.

The idea of symmetry came to me when I was lookig for a geometric sans font. None of the things that I found did have the mathematically perfect symmetry. So, I went ahead and created one. I have used complex mathematical equations to get the perfect angle in every letter. Diameter comes with two styles square corner and rounded corner, each with regular and bold weights.

An old set of brass stencils spotted for sale on eBay were the inspiration for this font from Jeff Levine. Redrawn completely from scratch, Jeff retained the narrow "M" and angled corners found in the original.
