Empire State Gothic is, from basement to spire, an exultant, soaring skyscraper of a font, distinguished by its high arches, steel-framed construction and the glory and pride of Comicraft's fine woodwork and stonework! You might find it surprising, then, that this tall, lanky font was something of a loner during its teenage years, mingling with others of its kind in the shadowy corners of coffeehouses, nurturing feelings of belittlement while craving attention it may not have rightly deserved.

CA Recape is a weird and beautiful vintage script family with two styles. It’s an excellent choice for creating logotypes, headlines, signs, poster and any design that requires a custom-made feeling. The basic inspiration for CA Recape comes from American 50s lettering. But instead of reviving one special style, it is a kind of “Best of”-Remix. It takes the weirdest and most beautiful letterforms of a weird and beautiful time and merges them into one font. The outcome is a charming bastard. Guess what it looks like: Weird and beautiful. CA Recape is packed with a lot of OpenType features like underlining swashes, Stylistic, Discretionary, Titling and Contextual Alternates and Ligatures for use in OpenType savvy programs. It also comes with some nice Ornaments. Derived from the original typeface, Cape Arcona Type Foundry also offers a Raw style that has the distressed look of a poorly printed raw font. Our main purpose while developing this typeface was to reconstruct, in the most precise way, the first ten plates of the “Arte de Escribir”, in a chapter named “Enseñanza de la letra italiana, y sus principales variaciones, autores, sistemas, &c.”, dedicated to the analysis of the Italian Script. We decided by this plates because those are the few that don’t refer, directly or indirectly, to any author in particular. We strongly believe that these plates reflect the freedom of his very own calligraphy and are closely related to the calligraphic style that was a success among the spanish calligraphers: the Spanish Bastarda.

Lanvier is an all capital display face, inspired by the thirties streamline era look. The family is offered in four style, Regular, Oblique, Double Oblique and Reverse Oblique, as well as two weights, Regular and bold. Bring the thirties back to life in all their chromium plated, streamlined and fast moving glory with the Lanvier family.

Visum means Visa in Dutch. The name was inspired by Dutch soccer club Vitesse's rather sad decision to leave Israeli player Dan Mori behind, after he was refused a UAE visa because of his nationality. Visum font is a tall and proud all caps typeface. It comes with alternates for the lower case letters, some ligatures and an impressive language support. Of course, upper and lower case glyphs can be freely interchanged.

Darka is a splendid, mysterious dark lady reincarnated in digital vectors as an original blackletter font. Her gothic, medieval, nocturnal attributes take the form of sharp terminals, seductive curves, calligraphic flair and complex character. Darka blends the balance of Textura, the flow of Fraktur and the elegant lowercase-to-uppercase ratio of Bâtarde into a stylish, inventive typeface with a Mexican soul. Starting as a personal, calligraphic hand, Darka slowly evolved into digital type, developing alternate glyphs, flourishes and special signs to preserve its hand-written origins and delicate tension, making it an excellent display typeface and, surprisingly, even a distinctive, crisp font for short texts. Darka received an Award of Excellence at the Type Directors Club of New York annual competition.

Getman is a light Gothic typeface. It made all the rules and traditions of classic Gothic typeface, but it has lightweight shapes, making it easy to read and understood. Getman is based on the works of type masters 1910s. This font has all 104 European alphabets, all Slavic alphabets, OpenType features (ligatures, oldstyle numerals, fistorical forms, localized forms, fractions, ordinals and others). Getman has an historic beauty of the medieval Germanic national script. Glory to the Germans!

Blue Goblet is a script developed for the pending illustrated children’s book from Portland Studios, The Blue Goblet. The font has grown to a comprehensive system, with a wide array of ornaments available. Blue Goblet is usable in a wide range of settings, and includes a full complement of OpenType features and a more playful alternate. Blue Goblet is a collaboration between Portland Studios and insigne. It was designed by Cory Godbey and digitized by Jeremy Dooley.

Alna is an All Caps Display typeface born with a daily calligraphic sketch exploration focused on recurrent diagonal stroke and reverse contrast inspired by Bastarda and 16th century French Caractères de Civilités forebears St Augustine Civilité. The customised retail typeface offers a stable but full of life feeling. Equiped with a bag full of ligatures for reading optimisation, Alna owns whimsical personality and rhythmic shines at large sizes. Technical use: For optimised readibility, Alna uses ligatures features (liga) to replace (by default) sequences of characters with a single ligature glyph. The longest ligature sequence is three letters. Some combinations can induce problems, especially with long words.

Giacinta is developed as a fresh alternate take on the traditional black-letter style. Rather than simply reproducing the standard uncial or Old English style, Luke William Turvey followed the tradition of Bastarda, making up his own scripted style with the Latin standards in mind. This style was conjured purely from imagination, so while it bares a resemblance to the standards, keeps its own original flavor. Giacinta is extended, containing the full West European diacritics & a full set of ligatures, making it suitable for multilingual environments & publications. Use Giacinta for medieval themed projects, certificates, awards, diplomas, anything that you want to look old fashioned and stately.

The Combi collection includes Sans, Sans Oblique, a true Italic, Serif, Serif Oblique and a set of Openface capitals. Boris Mahovac has adapted a friend’s handwriting in this new font called Kloi (pronounced Chlo – ee). It has a very casual feel and includes alternative swash glyphs of some key characters as well as some extra ligatures. Taking advantage of the ligature and contextual swash features in OpenType, the alternate glyphs automatically replace the standard glyphs when appropriate, creating a very unique look. Available in PostScript OpenType format, Kloi’s extended glyph set covers the Western and Central European, Baltic and Turkish languages.

Egory castle was inspired from the history of the medieval age. The idea was to make us interested to explore in the aspect of art and decorative letters forms. Lots of studies that we have learned from history in middle age and inspiration from many different sources make very valuable references for us to develop a new idea in the development of this typeface.

"Grunge Typography? I invented it!" claims Chank Diesel. Badoni was created in 1993 for use in CAKE, a fanzine that reveled in grunge music. As creative director of CAKE, Chank wanted the magazine's design to reflect the music it glorified. Kurt Cobain was alive and miserable. Soundgarden had long hair. Seattle was everywhere. Chank's answer was Badoni, a gritty and distressed typeface that is a sign of the grunge glory years.

Diocletian fortiter in re, suaviter in modo Diocletian typeface captures the essence and glory of the Diocletian’s palace, one of the most imposing heritages of the late Roman empire. Bocksay Mira is a text font family inspired by the manuscript Mira Caligraphiae Monumenta created between 1561 and 1596 by Georg Bocskay and Joris Hoefnagel for the Holy Roman Emperor. All shapes were taken from the original records in both regular and italic style: lower case (p. 5, 72), uppercase (p. 47, 121), small caps (p. 122, 7). The high contrast forms and the wide spacing makes this family suitable for long texts but also for titling uses, having always that calligraphic and stylish look. Find the original script here

This font is dedicated to the glorious flag of the U.S.A., "Old Glory". The family consists of two versions: a base and one called "composable" composed from a set of glyph (characters) that they can be inserted to pairs. One of blue color and one red for to obtain one glyph to two colors. As an example inserting "Aa" with a red 'A' and the a blue 'a' will produce a single letter 'A' colored to white stars in a blue field and white stipes in a red field, thus producing the most impact.

The letterforms of this face represent a "subtraction" of two different faces by weight, style, and shape -- one from another. The shapes of TM Miniature Italic are subtracted from FreeSet Bold with subsequent deconstruction. Though the spots may look amorphous they create images of both external and internal. At the same time none of them is explicit. The alphabet is lower case only. Designed by Boris Popov and licensed by ParaType in 2002 .

Mezalia is a one of a kind typeface. Its shapes were strongly influenced by bastarda scripts of high medieval times. Unlike most fonts sharing similar origin, Mezalia is not just another blackletter but a fully functional text typeface, blending medieval poise and character with modern sensibilities. Stroke widths, imitating a broad nibbed pen of a scribe, fluctuate constantly giving paragraphs a characteristic vibrating texture. Wittingau is the original German expression for “Třeboň”, which is a beautiful town near my studio in South Bohemia. I love it for its calm and inspiring atmosphere and rich cultural past dating from the 12th century. The present typeface family is released as homage to Třeboň in the style of its greatest glory – Gothic Revival with classicistic decorativeness. Wittingau is excellent for music covers, book and catalogue jackets, invitations and posters. Contains many ornaments for creating decorative wallpapers.

This font is dedicated to the glory of the human spirit and honor. Osovec is a fortress of World War I. On the 6 August 1915, the defenders of the fortress, the Russian soldiers, against whom the enemy had used poison gas; though half-dead, were able to rise to the counter. Thus it was that 60 Russian soldiers routed the 2 thousand strong enemy army. This heroic episode has gone down in history as"Attack of the dead". Linotype Finerliner is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest. The American artist Gary Munch, from whom we also have Linotype Ergo and Ergo Sketch, designed Linotype Finerliner as a handwriting font with calligraphic influences. The small, regularly formed lower case letters contrast nicely with the generous, sweeping capitals. The font is available in a light and medium weight and displays no stroke contrast. The lighter weight, micro, is best used for shorter texts in point sizes 18 or larger and the medium weight, macro, is mainly intended for headlines in larger point sizes.

A storm has been brewing. It’s Hurricane. A complete redesign of a popular style. New flair and excitement abounds with this fast moving spirited brush script. Magreb is a classic serif font inspired by Garamond and Venetian Serif Styles, accentuating softness and conveying luxury. This family of four weights and their corresponding italics is an old style construction and bridges the glory of the past with the elegance of the present. The process of making this fonts starting with an ellipse brush with a certain slope so that it resembles calligraphy pen strokes. followed by creating the basic serif elements, refining the vectors and softening each joint so that it looks natural. These six faces are interpreted from examples shown in Rob Roy Kelly's "American Wood Types" They are not merely scanned copies, but have been redrawn from scratch with various optical adjustments. Kelly points out that the true glory of the American Wood Types are the negative spaces, which are, in their dynamic active forms, the antithesis of the anemic flimsy letters produced by type foundries in the 19th century. The Alphabets Wood Types are designed with digital manipulation in mind. Stretch, curve and distort at will! These designs were released prior to similar revivals from Adobe. Each font has two full alphabets (one full height, one smaller) and numerals. However, certain points and accents will not be found.
