Linotype Dharma is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of the International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. G. Jakob and J. Meißner designed this font with an ornamental character, for example, with diagonal slashes as umlauts or dots on the i and j and the triangular serifs on the upper left of both letters and numerals. Such details make for a restless font, best used for short headlines in large point sizes.

Borrowdale is a valley and civil parish in the English Lake District. In the 16th century a major deposit of graphite was discovered near Seathwaite, which kickstarted the pencil industry. Borrowdale font was made with one of my son's coloring pencils (which probably does not contain a single molecule of graphite). It is a very legible and easy-on-the-eye font, ideal for children's books, texts and product packaging. Comes with a mother lode of diacritics.

The 'Alzheimer' font has a shape in which parts of the font have been erased as if memories are being erased. The remaining letters, which are minimal enough to be distinguished from other letters, create a different feeling, like an alien language. It is useful for creating titles or logos rather than expressing text. It was produced thinking of all of us adults whose memories are slowly disappearing. May they be full of health and love.

Clone Rounded is a retrofuturist typeface by Lasko Džurovski from Macedonia, fusing the vintage look of CRT monospaced forms with the organic mutability of a multi-weight, proportional family fit for reading. This lovechild of cyber-culture and genetic font modification takes inspiration from coding, technology, and architecture. Its quasi-monospaced design gives a nod to the quirkiness of engineered fonts but bends enough to never sacrifice a natural reading experience. Biomechanical morphology augmenting a laboratory-built frame.

Another tip of the hat to master draftsman Samuel Welo. His famous Studio Handbook was hand-lettered throughout, and provided the inspirations for many of Nick's favorite fonts. This little number is based on the unnamed style Mr. Welo used for much of his paragraph text. Use it when you want to convey homespun warmth and a handmade feel. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

Haggard Nova is the new edition of Haggard fonts (designed in 2011). The new typeface is an upgraded version of an old wedge serif font, with careful refinements to glyph shapes, and the extension of glyph amounts which enabled support of more Latin languages. Haggard Nova is released in eight styles with small caps, and true italics, and contains OpenType features. This typeface can be used for editorials and print designs, as well as text and headlines.

Victualia - casual, hand drawn (Wacom, illustrator) brush font. "Ligatures" have been created for some double letters to enhance the illusion of handwritten text. (TT, tt, ff, oo, OO, mm, MM, ll & LL - open type version of the font and open type compatible layout application required). Victualia was initially created in 2005 as part of a course that I attended to At Berghs , but has now been given a face lift as well as a full set of special characters.

The pattern for this font was found in the 1906 specimen book for the Keystone Type Foundry under the name Ancient Gothic, which is a pretty accurate description of the particular appeal of this typeface. Use it liberally anytime you want to add an air of mystery or menace...or simply some quaint charm. Both versions of the font include complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1524 character sets, with localization for Moldovan, Romanian and Turkish.

The Shinokai is a sans serif of two weights that is both dynamic and consequent. Originally concepted as a font for application letters by Lukas Schiltknecht it quickly became a more sophisticated piece of work. This Typeface is inspired by some of his favorite fonts the FF DIN and the ITC Officina. It is made to suit a variety of uses like advertising and packaging, film and tv, editorial and publishing as well as posters and billboards.

Sheet music from the 1921 edition of the Ziegfeld Follies provided the blueprint for this sparkly, sprightly font. Upper and lowercase characters are identical, with the exception of the letter s, which offers a version of the letter with a big caboose rather than an overbite. Named for David Bowie’s 1972 breakthrough album. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Cunaeus is intended primarily for use in running text. It brings together the types of two renowned sixteenth-century punchcutters: the roman is an interpretation of a pica font cut by Ameet Tavernier (c.1522–1570), and the italic that of a pica font of Robert Granjon (1513–1589/90). Granjon’s italics have inspired a number of revivals in the past, but usually of his more slanted styles; the present digitization features the lesser slant of his so-called ‘droit’ style typical of the mid 1560s. Cunaeus provides wide support for west, central, and east European languages that use the roman alphabet. Among its OpenType features are ligatures, small caps, several sets of numerals, contextual alternates, intelligent implementation of long ‘s’, and fractions. Steinweiss Script began its journey towards daylight when Michael Doret was asked by Taschen Publishing to do cover lettering for the huge commemorative edition they were putting together on the work of Alex Steinweiss—“The Inventor of the Modern Album Cover”. The lettering was to be created to appear similar to the famous “Steinweiss Scrawl” the calligraphy that Steinweiss had used on countless album covers. While designing this piece of lettering, Michael realized that there was great potential for a font that was designed in the spirit of that famous “scrawl”. Through his contacts at Taschen Publishing, he was fortunate enough to be able to contact the Steinweiss family, and get the official Steinweiss approval to proceed with his “Steinweiss Script” project. Michael decided that in addition to giving the font his name as an homage, that he would donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this font to the man himself: Alex Steinweiss. Additionally, within each weight there are three variations: Simple, Fancy, and Titling. These variations relate to the size/ratio of the caps to the lowercase, the complexity of those caps, and the size of the ascenders/descenders on the lowercase characters. These variations add usefulness to the font, making it accessible not just for headlines, but for longer passages of text as well. Teksi Teksi I saw you everywhere, I just had to have you. Teksi is a marker felt style font, I’ve seen various hand drawn styles of this typeface or something similar on taxis and vans all over the island of Penang.This hand drawn style is slowly being replaced with boring Arials and other Serif printed fonts, so I wanted to capture the charm of the original.
