Stencil Sheet JNL was modeled from an antique brass stencil sign that was custom hand punched for the customer. Sets of punch dies were available for years that allowed rubber stamp shops and similar trades to make custom stencils out of sheets of zinc or brass.

A movie poster for the 1952 Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis comedy “Sailor Beware” had the text rendered in a casual style of brush lettering similar to that found on store show cards. This inspired Show Card Brush JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

I have upgraded my existing font software and also bought new font software to play around with. It takes some time getting used to working with it; the upgraded software feels similar to what I am used to, but handles things differently and the new software is intuitive, but comes with its own language and ways of doing things. I spend most days reading the handbooks and watching online tutorials, but I did manage to create a font. Steamed is a hand drawn all caps display font that comes with a whole bunch of accented glyphs (even Vietnamese) to play around with.

New Letter Gothic was designed for ParaType by Gayaneh Bagdasaryan based on monospaced Letter Gothic font by Roger Roberson, 1956–62. The name of the font is from the hilarious movie "21 Jump Street" - and that is where the similarity ends. While the movie is quite funny, it is also super goofy! I can't say the same about the font, because terms like organic and organic comes to my mind. Strange, yes! And I have really no good reason for this naming, other that its an odd way to tribute this one of my all time favourite comic movies! :)

Langston is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It’s part of a series of lettering experiments, manipulating body proportions, characteristic elements and spacing to achieve some dramatic visual effects. It is hard to characterize if Langston is an outline or inline font. The outline has the same thickness and proportions as the stems. And the inter-letter spacing is also visually similar. Teksi Teksi I saw you everywhere, I just had to have you. Teksi is a marker felt style font, I’ve seen various hand drawn styles of this typeface or something similar on taxis and vans all over the island of Penang.This hand drawn style is slowly being replaced with boring Arials and other Serif printed fonts, so I wanted to capture the charm of the original. A heavily weighted font which could work for comic styles and headlines. I hope you like it.

Cool Crayon is a nice typeface I created with the black crayola from my 3 year old son's crayola box. It was broken (because he tends to throw them around), but I managed to get the glyphs onto a sheet of paper. Cool Crayon is similar to Crayon Crumble, but is rounder and thicker.
