Yana Klink is an illustrator at Art. Lebedev Studio, whose works are often accompanied by lines of fancy text written in her own recognizable manner with long strokes and “beauty spots.” Once we needed to apply that style to a number of pieces of text, we decided to design a decorative script called Klinkopis. It comes in one weight (regular). Text set in Klinkopis looks best when arranged in waves, like the original. It is recommended to use large sizes—from 24 pt and up—and have no more than just a couple of lines that become an essential part of the artwork. Klinkopis is designed to use OpenType Contextual Alternates. To beautify your project even further, some characters can be manually replaced with their more intricate or plainer variations depending on the neighboring letters. Klinkopis features long descenders and ascenders, which requires large leading to avoid congestion.

The major focus of my life and ministry at this point is book design. In the brave new world of 21st century self-publishing a new paradigm has arisen: the indie small shop. One of the problems is that all books are published as ebooks, and many books are published only as ebooks. There are two problems with this: character availability and licensing. The licensing problem is solved by including an ebook license with all of the Librum E fonts. The character availability is the core of the design. OpenType features do not work yet with ePUBs [though it is in the spec, if I understand correctly]. Kerning doesn't work, and so on. So these five fonts have only the 256-character [or less] ASCII set. A separate small caps is included. It has lining figures {proportional} and small caps instead of the graphics. The other four fonts have graphics to give bullet choices in lists, oldstyle figures {proportional}, and care given to character shapes so they will work better without kerning. Isabel was made out of necessity to create a new font for children and teenagers, that could be enough friendly and versatile for text in words or even easy-to- read long texts. The purpose of Isabel is to combine all the nice and friendly features of the simple letters that the teachers teach to the pupils at primary school, as they starting to learn to read, together with the normal editorial fonts we read every day. In this way it generates a very joyful serif font, or even friendly font, with some conservative aspects. Stylish, elegant, and alluring, Sekhmet got its name from the lion-headed war goddess of ancient Egypt. And the typeface does possess a kind of feline, forward-directed energy - a result of its calligraphic detailing combined with a very slight slope in the roman. Sekhmet is essentially a display face; still, it's as carefully crafted as any of the designer's text fonts and so also works well in reasonably large text blocks, especially at larger point sizes.
