I bought a few new pencils and I tried them out using Chinese ink and quality French watercolor paper. The result is Brush Crush - a very nice brush font. The design of Concert Series JNL is based on hand-lettering for a 1930s-era WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster for the Federal Music Project of New York City’s symphony concerts. Held every Sunday at the Theater of Music [located at 254 West 54th Street], the admission in those Depression-era days was 25 cents and 60 cents, with all seats reserved.

A little Compacta, a little Impact, a little photolettering from the 70s, all rolled into one make for a unique headline face that commands attention. Although this font is primarily unicase, the lowercase positions feature stylistic alternates, so can can mix things up and pack them in. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Steve Jackaman & Ashley Muir. Packard Old Style is based on lettering drawn by Oswald Cooper for the Packard Motor Company (ATF 1913). Hello! Let me introduce Cohen – a handwritten font named in memory of the great poet and singer Leonard Cohen. On the day he passed away I did my routine calligraphy practice and wrote a part of his song 'Night Comes On'. You may see this work in presentation pictures, and after time I designed a font based on this calligraphy. Cohen signature font is perfect for logos, branding, web, blog headlines, invitations, magazine and book design, product packaging – or for any text on postcards and on your favorite photos. Cohen includes: a standard set of characters with wide multilingual support: Western-, Central- and Eastern-European, Baltic, Turkish, Latin-type Africans, and Asian (94 languages in total) two additional character sets: lowercase letters with alternates shapes and lowercase letters with a little end-swash - for the position at the end of a word 39 ligatures for double letters and frequent combinations Cohen has a large number of embedded context-dependent auto-replacement features that give the text a natural, handwritten look and correct inharmonious combinations of letters. The popular Geogrotesque family becomes an extended system with the inclusion of three new members to the family; Geogrotesque Condensed, Geogrotesque Compressed and Geogrotesque Extra Compressed. The Superior Marking Equipment Company was originally located in Chicago, Illinois and over the years produced a line of both commercial and toy rubber stamp printing sets which were used for making signs, posters, tickets and other printed items. Rough Print JNL reproduces the scanned images printed from one of the toy rubber stamp sets. The sample characters were smaller than one half inch in height and were further reduced during scanning. This gives the end result of a typeface which looks like rubber stamp imprints at small sizes, and very angular, distorted, somewhat grunge type when printed at larger sizes. There is a limited character set consisting of alphabet, numerals, some punctuation and currency symbols. No kerning was added to keep the hand-made appeal. Rough Print JNL is an all caps font with the letters and numbers jogged randomly on both the caps and lower case keystrokes. For a similar design with lower case, Amateur Printer JNL is recommended.

Cobbler is a friendly type family in six weights. With proportions of geometric type, Cobbler is a contemporary sans on the inside and an ultra soft display typeface on the outside. Right on the heels of the tremendous popularity wave that made Hollandse Mediaeval the most used Dutch typeface during the Great War years, Sjoerd H. de Roos was asked to design a 15 point type for De Zilverdistel, Jean François van Royen’s publishing company. So between 1914 and 1916, de Roos and van Royen collaborated on the typeface eventually known as Zilvertype, and which both parties viewed as an improved version of Hollandse Mediaeveal. Like Hollandse Mediaeval, Zilvertype was based on the Jenson model, but it is simpler, with more traditional metrics, lighter and more classic in color. This Pro digital version of Zilvertype comes expanded in all directions. It contains a roman, a bold and an italic. Each font contains over 685 glyphs, including small caps, eight different sets of figures, plenty of ligatures, some Dutch ornaments, and extended language support covering most Latin languages. Zilvertype Initials is also there to round out this distinctively Dutch text family and make it ideal for immersive text design.

The name “Parchemin” is derived from the word in old English for “parchment.” Our modern word “parchment” changed its spelling to conform with French spelling practices during the French occupation of England. The font was created to suggest an informal but antique form of handwriting written on parchment with a quill pen. The scratchiness of the old quill pen is conveyed in the roughness of the characters. The font was loosely based on the font Queen. Use this font whenever you want to suggest rough informality or antique handwriting. The characters have been letter-spaced and kerned in such a way that they join perfectly with one another giving a completely convincing imitation of genuine handwriting. The font is fully professional in terms of its character set. Spillsbury was inspired by some examples of 1920s signwriting (principally seen on the side of some vintage vans-good thing they were in a photograph and not on the move!). Spillsbury draws inspiration from these sources to provide a unique combination of legibility and flair, which echoes the charm of advertising and publicity material from the halcyon days of the 1920s. A basic range of four display faces os offered - Regular, Plain (not all that plain really!), Shaded and Shadowed. In a new departure for Greater Albion, three pairs of 'Duo' faces are also offered.
