This font was inspired by the bricks of my wall, I stared at them all the time thinking, wouldnt be great if fonts live in cooperation with bricks, and then, it came to my mind…A font family that shows naked bricks, like it is RIGHT on the middle of design process. The main features are the informal and wired look that make it worthwhile for bands and informal invitations, flyers, for concerts or infantile designs.

Abalda adds to the number of “bad-taste” alphabets as seen on faded commercial inscriptions painted on neglected old houses. To enhance its warm character, some picturesque discretionary ligatures were added. Knip, in Dutch, means ‘cut’. You can tell by the glyphs that I made this font by cutting out the shapes from black paper, gluing it onto white paper and photographing the result so I could digitalise it! I don’t make too many cut out fonts, as it is a lot of work and it often leads to nothing. Besides that, I depend on the paper supply from my kids and they happened to have black paper this time!

Once upon a time (a.ka. 1984), there was a Goth band who called themselves "Hemingway's Shotgun." As a symbol of his commitment to this band, the bass player acquired a tattoo of a shotgun on his forearm. Unfortunately, this tattoo wasn't very well drawn: the barrel was much too short, and was much thinner at one end than the other. The tattoo rather resembled a small, cordless, rechargeable hand-held vacuum cleaner. Thus, the band "Hemingway's Dustbuster" was born.

Wine Cellar JNL is a bold, yet casual display face found on some 1930s-era sheet music entitled "Everybody Wants a Key to My Cellar". Since the subject of the song had a number of good times underneath the house, it's a fitting name for the font. The hand lettering for the original song sheet showed strong influence of the 1920s and the Art Nouveau style, and has hints of the popular metal type "Hobo" in its character shapes.

Falena is a type family designed by Gianluca Boffito. This simple, easy-to-read, geometric-style sans serif family is published by Typoforge Studio and consists of 18 weights (together with italics). It has more than 300 glyphs per style (including special characters). Falena works equally well in long form type settings and for titles, headings, posters. For our modern/futuristic fonts collection we wanted something truly science fictional, so Dave Nalle designed the Alecto font, an original design with a futuristic look, but some echoes of the type designs and lettering of the Arts & Crafts period. The German Standards Committee suggested the light Neuzeit-Grotesk’ font in 1970 for use in official signage, traffic directional systems, etc. The typeface had been designed by Wilhelm Pischner and appeared with the font foundry D.
