Linotype Cutter was designed by Georg John in 1997. As the name suggests, the font looks like it was cut out of black cardboard pieces. Each letter has a irregular rectangle black background and they combine to form heavy rows of letter elements. The strong contrasts of the font make it good for short headlines or initials in larger point sizes and combines well with almost any text font. Georg John made a second version of this theme called Linotype Schere (scissors) it is a companion typeface where the conturs of the letters are even rougher in its form.

Memo, designed by Janet Valdez of Janworx, is a digital version of her own personal penmanship, currently displayed in abundance on sticky notes all over her desk and monitor. Although its basis is in actual handwriting, it's perfectly legible, offering a casual alternative typeface for everyday correspondence or simple things, ranging from event flyers to children's birthday party invitations. Memo performs well at regularly used correspondence sizes, but at a larger size can also be manipulated in graphics software for interesting effects. The letters can be moved randomly from the baseline, overlapped, and then contoured with good results for a casual look.

According to Wikipedia, a "clip joint" is an establishment, usually a strip club or night club (often claiming to offer adult entertainment or bottle service) in which customers are tricked into paying excessive amounts of money, for surprisingly low-grade goods or services - or sometimes, nothing - in return. These establishments were rampant during the prohibition years. However, the inspiration for Clip Joint JNL comes from a more positive source - a WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster advertising "The Lure of the National Parks". A bold, classic Art Deco design, it typifies the modern and streamlined approach to lettering in the 1930s and 1940s.

This book and newspaper font was designed by Francesco Simoncini in 1958. After the Second World War brought type design to a standstill, the years of reconstruction meant a reconsideration of old values in the typographical world as well as in Europe in general. Aster is the result of this movement, displaying instead of Modern Face influence, a tendency toward Transitional characteristics and giving text a light feel.

Wistar Typewriter is a monospaced typewriter font in two styles: Regular and Faded, in both vector and SVG versions, with dashed line and underline alternatives and a bonus caps font, for a total of 14 fonts. Scientia (means 'knowledge', 'science' in Latin) is a neutral serif typeface in eight styles. It contains four weights (Regular, Medium, Bold, Black) with corresponding italics. All the styles support Western and Central European Latin, basic and Asian Cyrillic and Greek. Regular and Medium styles include smallcaps for all supported languages. In addition to the standard set of non-alphabetic characters Scientia has arrows and some supplemental mathematical symbols. The font was created by Natalia Vasilyeva. Being a professional book designer, Natalia uses Scientia in astronomy books. Scientia is a good choice for literary fiction and academic non-fiction texts. The typeface was released by ParaType in 2016.

It was our initial intention to develop a suitable lowercase for Les Usherwood's Elston typeface, based on a few characters from an old German typeface called Hermes Grotesque (Woellmer, Berlin). The new design became Creighton. Then, for good measure we decided to experiment with a 'crisper version' of this design; the result is 'Megaphone'.

I have been eager to create a pattern font, and Garamono is a set of patterns which you can simply create by typing an alphabet on keyboard. The design of the first "Fat Face" is credited to Robert Thorne just after 1800 in England. It is considered to be the first type style designed specifically for display or jobbing, rather than for book work. The first instance of Fat Face in wood type is found in the first wood type specimen book ever produced: Darius Wells, Letter Cutter 1828. This style was produced by all early wood type manufacturers. The style is derived from the high contrast, thick and thin Modern style of Bodoni and Didot developed only decades previously. The extended variation makes the face even more of a display type and not at all suitable for text. This type of display type was used to compete with the new Lithographic process which allowed for the development of the poster as an artform unto itself. This new digitization by Jim Lyles most closely follows the Wm Page cut. The crisp outlines hold up at the largest point sizes you can imagine. This font contains a full CE character set.

I used to be a tour guide and I traveled to China numerous times. Usually, the itinerary mentioned going to a restaurant in Beijing and eating ‘Beijing Roast Duck’ (北京烤鸭), a famous dish that has been prepared since the Imperial era. Typically, the whole duck is sliced at your table. The skin is crisp, glazed and thin and you should eat it with thin pancakes and thinly sliced spring onion. Of course, if I had to guide several ‘China tours’ in a row, I would often eat something else (there is only so much Beijing Duck you can eat). Peking Duck is a nice, handmade, Chinese Ink font.
