Golemi Display is a reverse-contrast fat face font inspired by the Caslon Italian specimen from 1821. It is intentionally designed to keep its wood type feel—the overall chunky body with rounded junctures to imitate the old look. However, compared to its prototype, Golemi is redrawn to have smoother shapes with a modern look. Golemi Display is suitable for large applications, such as headlines for editorial design, branding, webpages, and environmental design. It is currently a single styled typeface disposed for extension.

Influenza, whose name means 'the flu' in a number of languages, is a fat, single weight typeface. It's a bastard typeface, each character stands alone as an independent angular structure. Some characters have stylised blackletter features, some are quasi-bitmapped, some are blends between upper and lower case. This also inspired the name since the flu virus changes every time it comes around, it's a new disease every time you have to stay home under the covers drinking hot tea.

François Boltana was a French prolific lettering artist during the late 20th Century. He created the Stilla typeface in 1973. Stilla is a cursive “Fat Face”-style design, reminiscent of the first large advertising and display types produced in the wake of the successful Bodoni, Didot, and Walbaum text faces. Because of this pedigree, Stilla is the perfect headline choice for applications that look back to the 19th century. Stilla could also be used for very short headlines or big logos.

REALLY fat faces seem to be popular these days, so here's my take on one. The strokes have been expanded to the brink of illegibility, but the letters remain distinguishable, especially in context. Also included are alternate versions of the letter A—suitable for use as first and last letters in a word— in the ASII circumflex and ASCII tilde positions. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Humboldt is an ultra fat headline face. How bold can you go? Humboldt is an experiment to push the boundaries of character recognition: Its forms are extremely bloated yet highly distinctive. Open type savvy features provide an unexpected embellishment: small capitals, both lower case and upper case figures and several alternate glyphs are intrinsic in the design. Humboldt makes nice headlines and striking poster typography or logotypes. It can to some extent be used for setting even short phrases of text.

On the very northern edge of South Tucson lies an Old Pueblo institution, Le Caves Bakery, Home of the Vegetable Donut. That’s what they were called when Le Caves opened; now you’d say Vegan Donut, or No Animal Products Used. Radical concept in the Brave New World of 1935. I started with the letters from their sign and extrapolated the rest of the font from those. Deco Donut Fat is extrapolated from Deco Donut. If you want a donut, type a 0 (zero).

Bullish is a clean, contemporary, geometric font family. There are 12 fonts in the Bullish family, Light, Medium and Bold. Each with a lower case, small caps, lower case oblique and small caps oblique. The small caps versions have small caps in place of the lower case alphabets. The Oslo Stitch is a technique used in Nålebinding, a kind of fabric creation predating knitting and crochet. I have no particular interest in Nålebinding (nor in knitting), but I needed a name with ‘stitch’ in it and this is what I found! Oslo Stitch font is a nice, handmade, all caps font, which you can use for your book covers, posters and anything else that needs a bit of stitching up.

Friday Freak PB is a playful font inspired by the titling of the 1976 Disney film, "Freaky Friday". This font has a slightly clumsy stumble to it, adding to its personality and appeal. Mantika Book was originally conceived and drawn parallel to the first Agilita drawings. *[images: pencil drawings] It took several years before having a chance looking at these designs again. But then, my first impulse was to turn this alphabet into a new sanserif, which was to become Mantika Sans. This was the starting point to conceive a super family consisting of different design styles and corresponding weights. The initial drawings of Mantika Book were refined and an Italic was developed to go with it. The aim was to create a modern serif typeface which is reminiscent of humanistic Renaissance typefaces, yet without following a particular historic model. Its large x-height for one is far away from original Renaissance models. Mantika Book was designed as a companion serif typeface to Mantika Sans that can be set for lengthy texts as in books, hence its name. It shares the same x-height with Mantika Sans but has longer ascenders and descenders, making for better word shapes in long, continuous reading. The approach of an ›old-style‹ looking typeface with large minuscules makes Mantika Book also a choice for magazine text settings where one often needs smaller point sizes to fit in a multiple columns layout. The unique details of Mantika Book are the asymetric bracketed serifs in the upright font and its higher stroke contrast than usual in a Renaissance style. The stems are slightly curved inwards. Also, the Italics have a low degree of inclination, which makes longer passages of text set in Italic rather pleasing to read. Another feature Mantika Book shares with Mantika Sans is that all four weights take up the same line length. It covers all European languages plus Cyrillic and Greek, is equipped with lots of useful scientific symbols [double square brackets, angle brackets, empty set, arrows] and the regular weight has small caps. There is a kind of an old-style feeling to Mantika Book, yet these citations were turned into a contemporary serif typeface with a soft but sturdy character.
