Although inspired by the engraved lettering on eighteenth-century English trade-cards, ITC Vineyard has unusual characteristics of its own. The type retains some quality of copperplate scripts, but the differentiation between thicks and hairlines is not very sharp. There are a few cursive forms, but most of the letters are romanized: they are almost upright and not joining. Occasional flourishes are casually interpreted from various sources such as the lettering on trade-cards and writing masters' copybooks. “I think it is a new kind of 'copperplate script' which is not too formal and easier to read,” claims designer Akira Kobayshi. Irregularities are apparent in the angle of caps and numerals, but the face's quirkiness gives a type page some friendliness rather than cold brilliancy. ITC Vineyard is designed in two weights: regular and bold. PMN Caecilia™ is the premiere work of the Dutch designer Peter Matthias Noordzij. He made the first sketches for this slab serif design in 1983 during his third year of study in The Hague, and the full font family was released by Linotype in 1990. Volta is a robust typeface from the 1950s. A revisit to styles that were en vogue at the turn of the century, Bauer type foundry designers Walter Baum and Konrad Bauer designed this type family in1955. The form of Volta's letters are similar to those in New Transitional Serif typefaces, like Cheltenham and Century. Developed after the Didone (i.e., Bodoni) style types, New Transitional Serifs speak more to the zeitgeist of the late 19th Cntury, and were typographic adaptations to it's newer technologies. Already in the period of mass production, typographers and printers at the dawn of the 20th Century had to cope with larger print runs on cheaper materials. The robust letterforms of New Transitional Serifs were designed to compensate for this, but they were also ingenious little inventions in their own right. Form the beginning, the new, peculiar forms of New Transitional Serif letters were adopted for use by advertisers. Their robustness also allowed them to be used in virtually all sizes. Volta was designed especially with advertising display usage in mind. The x-height of Volta's letters is higher than average for serif faces. It is recommended that Volta be used exclusively for shorter tracks of text, above 12 point. Headlines look dashing set in Volta. Four different font styles are available for the Volta typeface: Regular, Medium, Medium Italic, and Bold."

RRollie is a typeface family inspired on the proportions of the Roman capital in the Augusto's age, some of them can be seen in inscriptions of Pompeii; in this particular case, it has taken an inscription from a tomb of the year 15 AD. The subtlety of the serif is hardly insinuates, helping to strut the terminals of the stems. Ascenders and descenders are very short. The thickness variation is presented quite delicate, highlighting the light-dark passage and even the agile counterblocks of the typeface. The challenge was to develop a useful font fit for any scenario and suitable for any design needs: editorial design, packaging, branding, screen use, etc. Multiple features soft, rounded shapes and large counterforms which make it well-suited for both text and display usage. The Obla font family is a modern serif typeface accompanied by appropriate italic in seven weights. Sketches of letters were drawn manually, using thick marker for creating shape and pencil for finishing details. Calligraphic origin of shapes is revealed beneath strained curves drawn on computer. All of the weights were carefully adjusted to each other. Obla is equipped with some basic OpenType features and supports Cyrillic and Latin script. Using Obla in small sizes is very convenient, because of its large x-height, and Obla is a very readable typeface. It seduces the reader with its vivacious character. The typeface is also suitable for usage in large sizes. The best choice for headlines is using the heaviest (Black) and the lightest (Thin) weight. There are two smaller family packages in offer: Obla Basic Set contains Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic, while Obla Light Set contains Light, Light Italic, SemiBold and SemiBold Italic. The "Tichy" typeface is intended for use in titles, headlines and in short text blocks, like citates. However, the typeface is legible even in larger text blocks. It's strong appeal allows the typeface's usage mixed with other graphic elements of the layout without compromising it's readability and it's presence. The typeface's simple initial module (double braked at 135 degrees straight line), the strict rules of forming the letters lead to an unique typeface - masculine, strong and still legible. The Cyrillic glyphs are influenced by the work of the great Bulgarian typographers Boris Angelushev, Vassil Yonchev and Alexander Poplilov, who developed Cyrillic further in 60-s and 70-s of the XX century. Western, East European, Cyrillic, Baltic and Turkish codepages are supported. The font file contains all the basic ligatures, alternate glyphs and kern pairs. It can be used both on Windows and MacOS based computers. The history of "Tichy" typeface began many years ago with a project for logotype design for a small company. It was a kind of designer's game to try making some letters just using one single module. Development of the other glyphs of the latin alphabet was for many years a mandatory exercise for the young colleagues in our studio. Suddenly we realized that this project matured and creation of a new typeface started.

Jackalope is a new original script font from LetterPerfect Fonts. The design is a hybrid of pressure-pen calligraphy infused with whimsy and curlicue terminals. Letterforms are free-spirited and edges are rough, simulating spontaneous writing on rough paper. In addition to the full ANSI western character set, Jackalope includes a full set of small capitals, both lining and old-style numbers, and swash lowercase alternate characters that can be used as terminal letters at the ends of words for additional flourish. The genesis and realization of Jackalope was also a hybrid process. In 1996, LetterPerfect commissioned type designer Kathy Schinhofen to provide pen-written source material based on her commercial handwriting style and specifically on a logo she had designed for its "Viva la Fonts" line of script fonts. This work was digitized by LetterPerfect’s Garrett Boge and later fonticized by former Hallmark Cards type maven Myron McVay who unified the design and contributed additional characters. The design sat unfinished for over 12 years until Garrett Boge revived the project in 2010 filling out the extended character set. Jackalope is released in two versions: Jackalope LP Regular, which is the base font for continuous text setting; and Jackalope LP Expert, which includes swash variants, small capitals, and old-style numerals which can be swapped into text for extra flourish and effect.

Pershal is something of an oddball, and that's the point. Dynamic and fast, Pershal attracts interest. Its architecture evokes growth and progress. Inspired by the futuristic styles of the 1990s, Pershal started on an aircraft ride as a sketch on a napkin. I set the concept aside for almost a decade before I went back to play with the typeface. Pershal is planned to complement applications in consumer finance, technology firms or biotechnology. As such, it has a complete set of both tabular and proportional figures. For the lowercase, Pershal features a distinctive shape that emphasizes its x-height. Its horizontal movement is highlighted by some of its other features, such as its crossbars. To emphasize growth, acceleration and inventiveness, crossbars and other elements are cut at a dynamic angle. It's a sans serif without a lot of contrast. Another unique feature of this typeface is the vast number of OpenType alternates. If you prefer a more conventional appearance to your sans, with stylistic alternates, you have that option. Altogether, there are more than seven separate sets of stylistic alternates and about 250 alternates for characters. This enables you to mix-and-match and create your own personal typeface. The design process of this font was rudely interrupted on August 11th, 2015, when my first child, Hazel, was born. Thinking up names for fonts can be tricky, as can thinking up names for babies, so when the font was finally finished, it seemed like a good idea to kill two birds with one stone, and here it is: Hazel Script. Hazel Script is a finely crafted, elegant, connecting script. I wanted to make something unique, and to this end, the contrast in the face is not based on any ductal logic, or the writing of some imagined tool. The thick parts of glyphs are purely aesthetic devices, placed to give the otherwise monoline font an interesting rhythm. The over-sized upper case letters follow a mid-century lettering skeleton, and swash forms can be used judiciously to add spice to the text. Hazel Script works "out of the box" but to really get the best out of it, use OpenType-savvy programs to unlock a world of swashes, alternates, ligatures and the like. In detail, the features are as follows: Swash - alternate forms for many glyphs Stylistic Sets - 1: script r, 2: alternate s, 3: script z, 4 and 5: more swash options, 4,5,6 and 7: access to alternate ampersands (the font boasts six to choose from!), 8: connecting forms for K, L, R, X and Z.
