Because of its great contribution in graphic design we have decided to pay tribute by expressing our gratitude for being an icon in the design world, the most recognized type designers of the last years have been part of that type foundry and for being source of inspiration for new designers. If there was an American Typeface Hall of Fame, Bank Gothic, designed by the great Morris Fuller Benton would hold a place of special distinction considering this design has survived so many trends in typographic fashion since being introduced in 1930. Its just as desirable today as it was over eighty years ago; arguably more. Today, Bank Gothic is a very popular choice as a titling face for science fiction books, posters and countless television and movie titles. It is also a popular typeface for use in computer games and digital graphics. GroupType’s 2010 revival of this American classic is true to the design, the period, and Benton’s aesthetic. GroupType worked with some of the most talented and experienced type designers that were historically grounded and sensitive to this design project. Fortunately, Mr. Benton has left us a large selection of other great typefaces for insight and guidance. GroupType’s new revival includes the original three weights in regular and condensed style plus two new distressed fonts. All have a new small cap and lowercase in each font necessary for 21st century typography.

In most cities during the 1950s and 1960s the corner pharmacy or soda shop was a mainstay of teenage life. It was a place to hang out with friends, hear the latest hits on the jukebox and indulge in everything sugary from malted milkshakes to banana splits. During this time, a popular form of window advertising was supplied by the Coca-Cola Company to promote its product being served by these locations. Specialty window decals designed to emulate drawn (raised) Venetian blinds "bookmarked" by the soda's logo were adhered to the shop's windows, with a space provided to add in customized lettering. The store's name or its specialties were applied to each window pane, and this formed a consistent border at the top of all of the shop's windows. Although few visual images exist of this specific bit of advertising nostalgia, an old record album by a late-1950s singer named Chip Fisher called "Chipper at the Sugar Bowl" provided a somewhat usable sample for what is now Soda Fountain JNL.

Labyrindo is inspired on the classic Labyrinth. The oldest known labyrinth is 3200 years old and is to be found in Greece. The mythological king Minos held the monstrous son of his wife ‘Minotaurus’ prison in a labyrinth. Much later the labyrinth made his appearance in the medieval churches, this time as a pattern on the church floor. During the Italian renaissance the multiple gate labyrinth came in fashion. Paths led trough green hedges in beautiful palace gardens. These hedges where perfectly cut in rectangular shapes. Mainly meant as an aesthetic statement. Besides the origin of the physic labyrinth, it has always been a great source of story-telling and myths. I mention a few personal favourites (film) like, Pan’s Labyrinth (a journey to the underworld), Labyrinth (with David Bowie) and the Shining with Jack Nicholson (where a horrific scene takes place in a labyrinth). Not the most cheerful stories but fascinating and intriguing. A Labyrinth is mind boggling and mysterious but wonderful. I made graphic translation in this typeface.

Archemy is a restricted and obscure branch of Alchemy that deals specifically with the life, generation and transmutation of Metals. The Archemy font is primarily a magical and alchemical alphabet. It was created on initiative of Senior Zadith, in order to properly quote older alchemical manuscripts, without the need to insert handwritten symbols. The font combines a unique and elegant Roman alphabet with a set of the most frequently used planetary and alchemical symbols that are common in the Western Mystery Tradition, and as used by those involved in the Royal Art. The Archemy font contains a selection of symbols that are still used by practitioners of the Art today, and for the sake of completeness, a selection of less used and more arcane symbols that can be found in older alchemical texts. In addition a Hebrew Alphabet is included, which will supply practitioners of the Art with the glyphs related to Cabalistic studies. The Hebrew Alphabet in this font does not include vowel points, since they have no place in ancient Hebrew, nor in the Western Mystery Tradition. Lionheart is the digitization and expansion of Saladin, a neo-gothic typeface designed by Friedrich Poppl, long after he established himself as one of the greatest German designers of all time with some of the most “ausgezeichnet” scripts and text faces to ever come out of Europe. This typeface, though lesser-known among Poppl’s other masterpieces, was one of the first in its genre to abandon blackletter influence and attempt letter variations based strictly on Roman alphabet shapes. Poppl’s idea spawned a whole generation of neo-gothics that can now be found on many a movie poster or book cover where the design must hint at secrets and dark sides. Lionheart succeeds with the idea of gradual curves leading to sharp concave or plano-concave terminals, to effectively build serious letter forms that speak of historical mystique and mystery. This font was was named after Richard I, King of England for a decade in the late 11th century. He reportedly exchanged many gifts of respect with Saladin, even though the two kings were on different sides of the Crusades. Lionheart comes in all popular font formats, with some alternates placed in accessible cells of the character set.

Gay Pride is a celebration of freedom, human rights and the right to love whoever we want. It’s a memorial for the battles, the lives lost and the pain suffered while fighting for a growing list of equal rights. But let’s not forget there are still places where LGTBQ community is repressed and persecuted. As Letter crafters we love seeing the signs people design for their different pride parades, and we wondered… Why don’t we create a collection of handcrafted lettering to share some love and to add a typographic realness to the party? Love Wins Font is a series of 60 phrases handwritten with expertise and love specially designed to celebrate diversity. The lettering was crafted with different calligraphic tools creating diverse aesthetics. You can use them to create your signs, t-shirts, stickers, poster, banners.. all you need is to spread love during your Pride Celebrations (or day-to-day life!).

Linotype Punkt, from US designer Mischa Leiner, is part of the TakeType Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contest 1999 for inclusion on the TakeType 3 CD. This font, from US designer Mischa Leiner is available in three weights, light, regular and bold. The basic forms are those of a robust sans serif, however the figures are composed of evenly placed dots, hence the name Punkt, the German word for dot. This distinguishing characteristic lets this font look as though it appears on a background of light. One other unique trait of this font is the nature of the three weights. The figures of each weight have exactly the same measurements, the same width, breadth, etc. The only variable measurements are those of the individual dots making up the forms, making the bold weight much darker than the light while retaining the same outer contours. Linotype Punkt should be used in larger point sizes, as when it is too small the dots blur together and rob the font of its 'light'. The font is therefore best for headlines in large and very large point sizes.

This script font was inspired by the type used in Leyden by Jan Seversz to print Breviores elegantioresque epistolae [...], author Francesco Filfelo, circa 1509. The original font contains all lower case characters, except w, eth, thorn, lslash, oslash and so... and almost upper case. In addition, one set of small lombardic initials were also nearly complete. It take place instead of the Bold style (in only one package)offering a real and rare complete historical printing set... The original small "a" hight was 2,8 mm !, the upper case hight no more than nearly 5 mm, the initials hight almost 15 mm, covering nearly two lines. This font includes "long s", naturally, as typically medieval and also a few ligatures, but not any variants. We have entirely recreated some characters, upper, lower and initials, to fill gaps. It is used as variously as web-site titles, posters and fliers design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, menus, certificates, as a very decorative, elegant and unusual font, besides its historical scrupulous reality... This font supports enlargement as well as small size.

Galvantur is a sans serif font, suitable for a wide range of applications. The main characteristic of this font is the slightly alien feel it can invoke, allowing it to really appear different and stand out, comparative to what other sans serifs may look like. The multiple styles included can further help customize your designs and projects, whether it's a body of text or an attention grabbing title. For example switching a block of text from regular style to oblique, can drastically change the overall appearance and feel of said text.
