Based on the Batman logo, this font (and a medium weight which is unreleased) were designed especially for Rian Hughes' "Batman: Black and White" comic book. It retains the signature reversed-stress weight distribution, seen to best effect on the A.

A feminine, graceful script whose thicker horizontals create a wave-like rhythm — hence the name. Seashore is loosely based on an "eccentric" (left-leaning) penmanship style of the late 19th century. Used mainly by professional "engrossers" in certificates and tributes, or by society ladies in their stationery and invitations, it sent a message of true refinement, as the style would have been only been mastered after the more common business, Spencerian, and standard ornamental styles. In fact, unusual script styles were in such demand that type foundries of the era exploded with metal-type knockoffs of increasing fanciness. Seashore includes a wide variety of swash capitals, alternate endings, and contextual ligatures, over 900 glyphs in all. Seashore is best used in short display settings — in names and addresses on formal invitations, in menus and food packaging, or fashion and beauty contexts.

I want to create a font, which is very elegant. So I made Danizatti Script, a kind of classic decorative script with a modern twist. Online auctions continue to be a surprising wealth of font design inspiration. In this instance, a number of silk embroidered Art Deco initials inside inverted triangles inspired Deco Pennant Initials JNL. The uppercase version is white lettering on a black background – similar to the originals. On the lowercase keys is a set of initials that are black on white with a black border. Since the inverted triangles resemble pennants, there’s a solid black blank on the left parenthesis key and a outlined blank one on the right parenthesis key. In this way, the initials could be used for monograms or interspersed with the blanks to form short banner messages.

ITC Digital Woodcuts font is the work of Timothy Donaldson. Although made on a computer, each character has the look of a block of wood with a character cut into it. The forms are made entirely of lines, typical of how the result would be if they were truly cut into wood. ITC Digital Woodcuts is a capital letter alphabet including both white letters on a black background and black letters on a whitish background which looks as though the bark of the piece of wood was chiseled away for the effect. Donaldson suggests alternating the black version with the white to create a three dimensional effect.

I digitized and revitalize Hostetler Fette Ultfraktur Ornamental from the classical type specimen book from Rudolf Hostetler. He was a Swiss type designer, author of “The Printer’s Terms” designed by Jan Tschichold, of “Technical Terms of the Printing Industry” (5th edition was printed in 1995), and of "Type: eine Auswahl guter Drucktypen; 80 Alphabete klassischer und moderner Schriften" (Teufen, Ausser-Rhoden: Niggli, 1958). He also wrote "Type: A Selection of Types" (1949, fgm books, R. Hostettler, E. Kopley, H. Strehler Publ., St. Gallen and London) in which he highlights type made by European houses such as Haas, Enschedé, Deberny and Nebiolo. Jost Hochuli wrote his biography.
