PODIUM Sharp is Extended version of DUDU typeface designed in 2012. After many years I’ve decided to rebuild and develop this typeface by adding new masters and weights. Finally PODIUM Sharp consist of 234 styles: from ultra compressed hairline to extra expanded heavy. Main purpose of this project was idea to make hybrid between different modular and geometric woodtypes that I found in old polish specimens: Rex, Blok, Bacarat etc. Thanks to big range of different styles, PODIUM will be perfect choice for visual identities, posters and display usage. For better comfort of using PODIUM I’ve prepared new idea of styles naming based on Frutigres’s Universe and Climbing evaluation. First digit means width and the second weights of style. (So for example style 1.1 is ultra compressed hairline, 6.5 is something like regular and 9.13 is ultra expanded heavy.

Hawking is a slab typeface with slightly squarish shapes and a rational, modern look. The font has a minimal modulation, generous counterforms and relatively large x-height with lowercase ascenders extending above the cap-height for more legibility. A companion piece to Mulgrave, this font is the intermediary design between the chunky Victorian style that Mulgrave reproduces and the Ministry of Transport sans introduced in 1933 and digitised as Ministry. Although they date from between 1910 and 1933, these signs show the beginnings of several features Ministry later incorporated, notably the thinner strokes and the more modern forms of the G, M, R and S. The letter widths are approaching a monospace - the L, F and E are relatively wide compared to the W and M, a feature that may have something to do to the casting process. These idiosyncracies were all ironed out when the first version of the MOT alphabet was produced. An older typeface belonging to a family of sans serif fonts known as Grotesque (or Grotesk in the classic spelling) has been re-drawn by Jeff Levine and released as Album Cover JNL. The font's name is derived from the fact that this typeface was found on many long-playing record jackets during the 1950s and 1960s. To add a look closer to that of hand-set type, there are minute variants in some of the heights of the characters.

Diaper Bag is a ding bat font providing images related to baby: bottles, pacifiers, rattles, cribs, bassinets, safety pins, and some random things like umbrellas (for a baby shower), expecting moms, storks, baby feet, teddy bear, rubber duckey, booties, teething ring, etc. You can use these to make baby shower invites, baby announcements, and anything you can customize with your own design. Some years ago I designed Chalfont as a sans face. All the characters have a top heavy look when viewed straight on, however, as most type is read at an angle with the top further away than the bottom, this top heavy look is diminished. Chalfont Roman, although re-drawn with some alterations, is still basically the same face but with a top left serif giving more emphasis to the top heavy characteristics. I have also added a set of non ranging numerals.

The wealth of vintage hand-lettering styles found in a 1941 edition of the Speedball® Lettering Pen instruction book has allowed Jeff Levine to re-draw a number of them in digital format for today's designers. As with other fonts in the Eckhardt Series of sign painter-inspired styles, this font is named in honor of Jeff's good friend Albert Eckhardt, Jr. Al was quite the talented sign writer, and ran Allied Signs in Miami, Florida from 1959 until his passing.

2030 font is inspired by the typography of the early 20th century, the Futura of Paul Reener, Cassandre and Charles Loupot’s works and, on a broader level by modernism and art déco mouvements. Geometric, with classicals proportions, this typefaces is a re-interpretation, in a actual form, of the alphabets from this period. Architype Universal is a collection of avant-garde typefaces deriving mainly from the work of artists/designers of the inter-war years, whose ideals underpin the design philosophies of the modernist movement in Europe. Their ‘universal’, ‘single alphabet’ theory limits the character sets. Architype Tschichold is a faithful rendering of Jan Tschichold’s 1929 experimental alphabet which was influenced by Bayer’s single-alphabet. His design was never put into production. This re-creates his original geometrically constructed design, including some phonetic characters.

Carve is an African font that was inspired by fonts such as Othello and Neuland designed in the mid-1920s. Rather than attempting to re-create these fonts in a digital form as so many others have done, I have tried to capture the “spirit” of the period and emphasize the “woodcarving” style of the font, while simultaneously giving it a contemporary feel. As a result the characters differ markedly any of the original styles and have much less of an “Art Deco” look to them. To further modernize Carve, I have included all the characters required for a full character set (lower case, as well as all punctuation, numerals, diacritics, special characters etc). The result is a thoroughly modern re-interpretation. The numbers (0 to 9) bear no relation to any originals but, I believe, are fully in keeping with the upper and lower alphabetic characters of my font. Carve comes in two styles: --Regular: contemporary, angular African style --Incised: exaggerating the chunky, hand-carved "woodcut" effect. The "in-line" effect has been hand-crafted to avoid the mechanical effect of computer-generated inline effects.

A bold retro-future font ~ cosmic, weighty & groovy. Each letterform began with a rounded edge box as the base and ovals as a way to create negative space. In instances where the oval was not enough, a series of simple additional arced or straight cuts were made. What resulted is a unique and original font with a lot of personality. Stylistically, the font has a space-age vibe while possessing sleek, futuristic characteristics that ultimately make it feel fresh. It is not meant to be a go-to font for articles with a lot of text, but meant to expand ones library and in the right moment it will bring a lot of energy and major impact. Trade Gothic inline is a quirky display companion for Trade Gothic Next, offering five different voices, and a whole lot of personality. The lighter weights are graceful and elegant, embracing negative space to give the sense that the letters are halfway to disappearing. Designer Lynne Yun has incised the darker weights with a super thin inline that emphasises the heaviness of the letters, and creates a reassuring chunkiness. “If I kept the inlines the same, it created a lot of visual noise,” explains Yun. “I wanted each weight to be different enough, so in the end the weight and width of the letters was increasing and decreasing in size, and the inlines were too. The black is almost like an extra black, because the inline is smaller. It's about trying to have different voices for each weight.” Trade Gothic Inline is available in five weights, from light to black.

First published in 1939 by Stempel, Renner Antiqua is a classic serif text typeface. Designed by Paul Renner, the father of Futura, this design stands out as strikingly different from his other designs. The letterforms are relatively compact and space saving and the strokes have a strong contrast to look as if made by a pen. This design is extremely distinctive and individualized, but without being overly distracting. Notice many of the small details such as the serifs on the uppercase C, E, and L and the bar at the top of the uppercase A. Also observe the special curve in the bowl of the lowercase b, the dot of the i, and the tail of the y. This design is wonderful for extended amounts of text at 10pt, but the subtle details will be fully appreciated when used larger for titles and display settings.

The font name comes from the Dutch word "Rijk" meaning "rich". I'd like you to consider Rijk as a good Pinot Noir: medium bodied, offering succulent juicy berry flavors, accentuated by delicate aromas of coffee and vanilla oak. PunkRocker is a bold condensed sans-serif with three versions and plenty of attitude. The font "Gaidar" named in the honour of Arkady Gaidar. He was a Soviet writer, whose stories were very popular among Soviet children, and a Red Army commander. He died in combat fighting with German nazis in 1941. Few generations of Soviet kids are raised on his books and a number of films were made based on his stories. Uranus is a futuristic font inspired by space and extraterrestrial civilizations. The proportions of the letters are wide, the elements of the letters have organic curves, reminiscent of the design of streamlined spaceships. What gives the font a special character is the excessive contrast between the upper element and the crossbar in letters such as A, B, E, F, K, P, R. In these letters, there is a barely noticeable intra-letter gap in the form of a line. Due to this contrast and rounded elements in these letters, a negative space of a triangular shape also turned out. Particular attention should be paid to the broad language support for the font. The font has support for Latin, extended Cyrillic, and Korean (2780 base syllables). Total glyphs: 3562. Uranus is well-suited for large typography, logos, and any other design related to futurism and space.

Kiosk is a prominent display typeface pair. It is a sturdy condensed sans serif and an eloquent brush script. In addition there are textured “print” versions of them both. Kiosk fonts work as a pair or as themselves. Sans is great for sturdy headlines, menu titles, packaging or any such, the bigger the better. ITC Wisteria was designed by Michael Stacey, a Florida-based artist and graphic designer. An ardent collector and recycler of vintage graphic design and typography, Stacey is especially intrigued by the lettering styles of sign painters and show-card lettering artists from the days when most display typography was hand-rendered. ITC Wisteria is one such style, taken from the 1930s, which he has updated for digital imaging. His goal was to retain the loose, casual feel of handlettering, while imparting what he calls “the crisp finish of current precision typography.” Like the plant it was named after, ITC Wisteria is both rugged and beautiful. The design is a constructed brush script that successfully melds the strength and dynamism of strong character shapes with the grace of script letterforms. The split-brush strokes, although obviously constructed, also impart a sense of immediacy to the design.

DF Korolev is a 72 weight geometric sans serif family based on lettering by an anonymous Soviet graphic designer from the propaganda displays at the Communist Red Square parade in 1937. It has been named in honor of Sergey Pavlovich Korolyov, or Korolev, considered by many to be the father of practical astronomics. Rational and robust, it is also elegant and refined. Tracings done in Illustrator over a photograph featuring this type pinned down some of the basic character shapes. These were then imported into FontLab, where the full glyph complement was developed. The lower-case has been designed from scratch, and adheres to the structural logic of the uppercase as closely as possible. The complete Korolev super-family includes standard, italic, condensed, and compressed versions, each in five weights. Try the ‘rounded’ and ‘rough’ companion families. The Alternate families come with a double-story “a”.

Groovy started out as a prospective variant in the ‘Flashback’ series but very quickly established its own distinct appearance, especially with the lower case letters blending into the format so well. There wasn't any preconceived idea to design a retro looking font in principle, it simply evolved that way, but I do think it has several characteristics reminiscent of style genres from the '70s. It’s probably quite subliminal and like me, you may find yourself thinking, what does that remind me of? The double-entendre'd title is quite apt too, not merely for reasons of its outwardly retro appearance but also because of the considered, rounded elements forming the negative spaces throughout. The font also has something of a chameleon-like personality, being both adaptable and capable of having a trendy / fun appearance, or alternatively something solid and stylish, depending on the use, as demonstrated in the banner examples here.

Shàngó is CastleType’s beautifully-rendered interpretation of Professor F.H.E. Schneidler's elegant titling typeface released in 1936 with the name 'Schneidler-Mediaeval mit Initialen'. This latter design is usually referred to as Schneidler Initials. Although early on Medium and Bold weights were added to the somewhat delicate design of Shàngó, it seemed there were other possibilities that might be useful for display use. So, for the last couple of years I have been working on and off on a monoline version of Shàngó. This new design maintains the classic letterforms of the original, but its relatively even strokes gives it a more solid appearance, making it useful where a more modern, masculine look is needed. This new family is called Shango Gothic and is available in four weights: Regular, Medium, Bold, and Extra Bold. Shàngó Gothic is a member of the extended Shàngó family (Classic, Chiseled, Sans, Gothic).

Superb is a new typeface based on real brush pen script and also influenced by lettering shapes from the sixties and seventies. The font includes various swashes with volume and curls.. Superb’s letters got high contrast and some psychedelic curves. This font includes negative figures and a full alphabet set with cut out shapes. Nearly a hundred human heads, in three dingbat files. The whole series comes from the sketchbook: the original ink drawings were then digitized and refined to create vector outlines. Rather than perfectly smooth, geometrical shapes, the Entestats, like their close relatives in the Capsbats series, the Entestats retain a handmade look and feel. The Entestats are ready-made illustrations, though of course they will appreciate being enriched with colours, textures, an imaginative layout... and use them for a variety of projects. Use them small, as spot illustrations or as big as a whole page or page spread.
