Hansplatz Grotesk is a sans serif type family of nine weight. Influenced by Akzidens Grotesk, Hansplatz typeface bring a new approach to this utilitarian style of grotesk. With more square proportions rather than geometric style, Hansplatz grotesk aimed to ease typesetting job when arranging a words or paragraph easily. In 1905 the Parisian typefounders Peignot & Cie. issued their Série 16. This clear roman with a large x-height and an italics soon enjoyed a great popularity. Coen Hofmann’s drawings made for the Seizième follow the original Peignot Série 16 as close as possible. The regular font has the original small caps, while all members of the family are enhanced, next to the ranging ones, with old style figures. Also superior and inferior figures are available. The original series did not have a bold version. This was, however, carefully drawn for this digital rendition. The Série 16 and its versions for the composing machines were much used for the type setting of scientific publications. That is why a comprehensive set of mathematical and sundry characters are added to the Seizième fonts. Next to the accented characters for the several West and East European languages the Seizième was also enhanced with a Cyrillic, also available in regular, italic and bold versions.

Buddy is the new companion sans for Contenu, the book font family designed for my book on font design design. Originally, I called it Compagnon, but that seemed to pompous. Then I called it Aide, but that was too formal and dry. It's a loose, free, easy to read sans, so when my wife suggested Buddy, it clicked. This is the 4-font Buddy family of Regular, Italic, Bold, & Bold Italic. I made a new, more limited feature set for these fonts due to their designed usage, but there are still small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, numerators, and denominators. The bold is closer to a black, and the italics are only slightly slanted obliques. If you need a strong black in caps, use the small caps of the bold.

Cassia - a dynamic ‘Egyptienne’ with contrasting Italics and a classical appearance. More individual and agile and less cold than most Slab Serifs, it joins impetuosity with vitality. Pistol Twelve JNL is a novelty version of Jeff Levine's Twelve Oaks JNL wood type font, with the addition of random bullet holes in the upper case characters. The font design was suggested by fellow type designer Ray Larabie. Pistol Twelve JNL is a two-fold pun. Initially, this conveys the obvious fact that the design is a variation of Twelve Oaks JNL with bullet holes... but the name is also a play on an old, old joke. One person asks the other: "Would you care to join the Pistol Club? You drink 'til twelve and..." Well, you get the picture!

This late 19th century design conjures up early 20th century Dutch DeStijl lettering with a mostly strict adherence to right angles and minimal stroke modulation. Geometric began its life as a metal typeface from the Central Type Foundry, circa 1884. Soon after, this design was officially licensed to Morgans & Wilcox and was shown in their 1890 catalog in Regular, Light and Condensed Light variations. After acquiring Morgans & Wilcox, Hamilton Manufacturing offered Geometric Light Face Condensed as their own No 3020 and the Geometric Light Face as No 3021. HWT Geometric has been expanded digitally to include a Regular Condensed version. A heavier wood type specimen was found from an unknown manufacturer and digitized as it was found, resulting in the HWT Geometric Shopworn and Shopworn Inked variations. These digital versions all include a full Western and Central European character set of over 380 glyphs.
