Eksja is a modern slab serif available in four weights, each with a corresponding italic. All the fonts in the family have small caps, the extended latin character set, diacritical f-ligatures, enclosed numerals (numbers in circles) and case-sensitive punctuation. The general design of the typeface has been with a strong human touch in mind. The ends of the serifs have been given a subtle rounding, just enough to take the edge off which, when coupled with the largely humanist structure of the design, creates an open, friendly and approachable design, abandoning the usual geometric severity commonly associated with slab serif typefaces. Eksja contains quite a comprehensive numerals system. Obviously, each font has the standard proportionally and tabularly spaced lining and old-style figures but, crucially, the tabular numerals share the exact same width in each font variant. That means that you can choose to use the thin, regular, bold, black and their italic forms all in the same setting and they will always line up. In addition to the 'normal' numerals there are super-script and sub-script numerals and OpenType fractions that can be automatically composed as you type. Sada is a text font designed with hand held devices and ebooks in mind. Glyphs are designed to be larger than usual and very clear with soft visual characteristics and many traditional Arabic calligraphic transitional features incorporated to improve legibility. The word “sada” means “echo” in Arabic. Even though Sada is a cursive style font it offers clearly distinguished and visually unified letter shapes in every position of a word. Sada supports all Arabetic scripts covered by Unicode 6.1, and the latest Arabic Supplement and Extended-A Unicode blocks, including support for Quranic texts. It comes with three weights, regular, bold, and ultra-light. Each weight has normal and left-slanted “italic” styles. The script design of this font family follows the Arabetics Mutamathil Taqlidi style and utilizes varying x-heights. The Mutamathil Taqlidi type style uses one glyph per every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined by the Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph, for each freely-connecting letter in an Arabic text. Sada includes the required Lam-Alif ligatures in addition to all vowel diacritic ligatures. Sada’s soft-vowel diacritic marks (harakat) are only selectively positioned with most of them appearing on similar lower or upper positions to emphasize they are not part of letters. Rufolo is a family of fonts that can be considered both aesthetic and utilitarian. It has an apparent serif, barely hinted at, whose clear past reference is a beautiful epigraphic script on the marble plate placed at the southern entrance of the Roman amphitheatre, in Pompeii. Perhaps its origin dates back to Ugarit's cuneiform writing (as Morrison suggests as the origin of the serif in "Politics and Scripts") whose characteristic triangular-shaped incision footprint produces a powerful trait that not only gives character to the writing but also facilitates its support and visual compensation of sizes with neighboring signs. Other clear inspirational references have been Robert Hunter Middleton's Stellar (1929); Albertus (1932) by William A. Dwiggins; Optima (1952) by Hermann Zapf; And more recently RRollie (2016) by our foundry. Rufolo collects the attractive characteristic of the stroke endings but the proportions of its structure becomes much more regular, the capitals are in line with a constant square module, while the above references retain the proportions of the Roman Trajan. Some endings strokes have slightly baroque reminiscence with the intention of giving it greater plasticity and aesthetic enrichment, but absolutely controlled, taking special care of the aspects of readability and expressive neutrality. Being a geometric sanserif ocr-t comes in eleven weights from ultrawhite to infrablack (brightwhite, white, silver, lightgrey, grey, darkgrey, anthracite, black, jetblack). With more than 600 glyphs it covers all your typographic needs and manages to stay at the same place no matter which width you’re using. Its readability and legibility is more than fine although it needs no kerning.
