Dom Casual is a very condensed script, almost monotone, with irregular vertical strokes ending at different heights, and which suggests a freehand effect. It was designed by Pete Dom in 1951 for American Type Founders. As its name suggests, the Dom Casual font gives the appearance of a quick brush-like lettering and is suitable for setting titles, subheadings and short copy. There is some variations of stress in the rounded letters.

Built in 1928 in Wichita, Kansas, the Uptown Theater started out as a movie house, but today still exists as a dinner theater. Online images of this vintage venue’s perpendicular wall sign show the theater’s name in an Art Nouveau influenced angular style with rounded terminals – similar to that of pen drawn sign lettering of the era. First published in 1938, Letters and Lettering by Paul Carlyle and Guy Loring was a textbook on lettering examples and how to do them. On one of the pages was found a solid black (counterless) Art Deco sans serif design that in its many variations so typified the era. Two pieces of vintage sheet music (“Honeymoon Hotel” and “By a Waterfall”) from Warner Brothers' 1933 musical “Footlight Parade” featured a hand-lettered bold alphabet with a touch of the 1930s Art Deco influence. These song sheets served as the basis for Pocomoke JNL. As informal and casual as the design is, its strength is in the boldness of the letter forms (which showcases the era of pen-and-ink display lettering).

ArgentaBobbed is an informal, "hand-printing" font with little balls that some people, often children, like to add to the ends of strokes. Maybe it could be called a ball-serif or dot-serif font. The family has six members. Each of the two weights, plain and bold, have oblique styles. There are also two variants: ArgentaBobbed-Wig is squiggly handwriting with the dots, and ArgentaBobbed-Squish is condensed handwriting with dots.

Geulwoll is a Korean word for letters. HU Geulwoll is a handwritten font that conveys a calm feeling by creating a lyrical and old atmosphere. In order to emphasize the feeling of writing with a marker, each end was made to fall diagonally, a characteristic of the marker. The Standard version of the Norden font family (see Round and Display) is "a standard sans serif" font. However, the significant detail and difference is that it comes with slightly rounded end corners, which makes the font “easier on the eye”, especially at large sizes compared to traditional fonts with sharp-edge corners. This little but important difference gives the font a commanding yet poised presence, without it imposing itself, as it were.

A piece of hand lettered sheet music from the era of the "Roaring Twenties" served as a model for Raccoon Coat JNL. It was a time of Prohibition, bathtub gin, flappers and college boys decked out in beanies and raccoon coats. College pennants, ukuleles and "23 Skidoo" were all part of the youth culture during this period; which gave us such dances at the Charleston, the Black Bottom and the Lindy Hop.

The hand-lettered title on a piece of sheet music for 1938's "Don't Be That Way" (as recorded by Benny Goodman) featured squared letters with rounded corners, slight variants in line thickness and interesting "overhangs". Additionally, some letters closed off on one end while others were opened, giving the impression of a slight "maze" effect. This unique song title was enough of an inspiration to be turned into Musical Arrangement JNL.

Neue Schwabacher is a revival of a revival. Albert Anklam modified the medieval letter forms of Schwabacher according to the fashion of the fin-de-siècle era, and his font was first released by Genzsch & Heyse in 1876. Modeled from Jeff Levine's Parkitecture JNL, its roots go back to the popular typeface best known as Eagle—a lettering design most associated with the NRA posters of the Depression era.

ITC Eastwood is the work of British designer Martin Archer and is named for Clint Eastwood. Archer was looking for a plain oldstyle typeface with open lower case forms and used Stempel Garamond as his starting point, although the result ended up well beyond its origins. In small point sizes the typeface looks interestingly rough while at display sizes it looks like a 16th century French typeface and its unique details come forward.
