Ronde Script (Ronde meaning "A kind of script in which the heavy strokes are nearly upright, giving the characters when taken together a round look.") is based on the original design named Parisian Ronde released in 1878 by the Chappelle Foundry in Paris. Other versions of this script include Inland French Script, French Script, French Plate, and Typo Upright. Different type foundries tied to the releases of this design include Mayeur (Paris), Stephenson Blake (London), Bernhardt Brothers & Spindler (Chicago), and ATF (Elizabeth, NJ). This style of script has been a very popular choice in designing wedding invitations and so many other formal announcements for over 130 years. Its very readable, formal and elegant with an antique or retro feel.

ArchiLogo is not a regular outline-font. It has a stencil element to it and it’s a kind of indirect, because the font is basically the space between the lines. You have to read between the lines, so to speak. It’s like one of the key elements in architecture: the space between the walls. Here’s where type design meets architecture! Chicago Ornaments is a collection of decorative cuts cast by the Chicago Type Foundry of Marder, Luse & Co. of 139-141 Monroe Street in Chicago, Illinois. This collection was shown in their 1890 Price List. According to William E. Loy, at least some of them were designed by William F. Capitain. Chicago was one of the innovative Midwest type foundries, introducing the American Point System. These designs represent the late Victorian period. After 1890, with the posters of Jules Cheret taking Paris by storm, Art Nouveau gradually began to displace Victorian style. In type design, both styles competed against each other until about the end of the century. Designers may want to consider using these ornaments when using Victorian style typefaces, like our Cruickshank, Edison and Freak - as well as faces by others such as Karnac, Kismet and Quaint Gothic. Amarone is a spiky calligraphic display typeface with some old fashioned flavour. It was designed by Carl Crossgrove, and includes an extensive set of swash caps which allow for extra drama where needed. Crossgrove wrote each of Amarone's letters by hand using pen and rough paper, and has retained some of this visual texture in the final digital design. The typeface works well at small sizes, but when used at larger sizes this texture comes to the fore. PODIUM Soft is variations of PODIUM Sharp typeface designed in 2019. Family consist of 13 styles from ultra compressed to extra expanded. Main purpose of this project was idea to make hybrid between different modular and geometric woodtypes that I found in old polish specimens: Rex, Blok, Bacarat etc. Thanks to big range of different styles, PODIUM will be perfect choice for visual identities, posters and display usage.

We named this font Scholz Secession. Fin-de-siecle Vienna, Austria is the source of this Jugendstil design from Schriftgiesserei Eduard Scholz. The original release was under the name Reklameschrift Secession. Most of the curve strokes look like commas to me. The letters are as soft and plump as the comforter on the bed I slept on in a Salzburg B&B many years ago. I was traveling with a college buddy and our next stop was Vienna. There a kind, young student named Hanna and her boyfriend took us under their wing. One of the places Hanna proudly showed us was Otto Wagner’s Majolika Haus, built in 1898, and only about 8 blocks from Secession Hall. Hanna explained to us that the style was called Jugendstil and represented Art Nouveau as interpreted within the framework of their culture. I even took a picture. After all, memories are part of who we are. Figures are old-style for text use. This font would not be my first choice for a spread sheet. Included are German ligatures ch (alt-0123) & ck (125), two period ornaments (135, 175) and lower case o and u with Hungarian long umlaut (215, 247)). A very likeable and easy-to-use font.

How should an authentic baudelairean type look like? Aesthetically beautiful, that’s for sure. Intellectual, neurotic. Uptight — oh, the conventions of the time. Easily readable — still 20 years to go until the age of art nouveau with its outrage of typefaces. It may have a vibe of a Paris salon - salute to the Parnassiens. Such a modern-class (don’t mix it with the modern-styled) pharmaceutical Antiqua. Contrasts, thin serifs, the integrity of the operating theatre. But Baudelaire is not Heredia. «Une charogne» is not that much a vivid metaphor as a drawing from nature. The baudelairean typeface should have its cavern, flow, dark side. Not to demonstrate the fragile romantic profile of a cursed poet, as Baudelaire was seen 130 years ago, but to express the real pain. A true, unattractive, egoistic, suicidal passion.

Journal type family is a low-contrast text face of the Ionic-Legibility group. It was designed at the Polygraphmash Type Design Bureau in 3 styles in 1951–53 by Lev Malanov and Elena Tsaregorodtseva. The fonts were based on Cyrillic version of Excelsior that was developed in 1936 in Moscow by professor Michael Shchelkunov, Nikolay Kudryashev et al., that in its turn was based on Excelcior by Chauncey H. Griffith, 1931, Mergenthaler Linotype. Digital version was developed in ParaGraph (ParaType) in 1991. In 2012–13 designer Natalia Vasilyeva made some corrections in original digital data, extended character set and add bold italic style. The family was rereleased in ParaType in 2013.

The Typeface includes stylistic alternates that provide the designer with endless possibilities for combinations and variations. Alius contains PS-Hinting and is therefore as legible on screen as it is on paper. The typeface comes with powerful OpenType features that will satisfy even the most demanding of designers. With more than 680 Glyphs and a coverage of over 130 languages, Alius is as versatile as it is beautiful. The development of the typeface started in the summer and concluded in the fall of 2021.

Bixa is a chromatic typeface designed for display use. Bixa comes in 13 different layers containing 11 weights for beautiful color combinations. Atwin is a modern remake of Franco Grignani’s Gemini. It is inspired by the unusual forms of the MICR numbers on bank cheques. Strangely rounded rectangles make the glyphs appear unfamiliar; an angular but also blobby design that disrupts and breaks away from tradition. Good in display sizes.
