Boller is based on handwriting found on the blueprints for the Jayhawk Theater in Kansas. Thomas Williams & Boller Bros. Architects are the only names found on the blueprints. The character set is extremely limited and many of the missing characters are extrapolated from existing letters and symbols. Ideal and distinctive at large sizes.

Gold Standard got its start from a few letters found on an old Gold Certificate from 1882. From those few letters spelling out the word GOLD, the rest of the alphabet was designed to match. The lowercase design was based on lettering found on an old silver certificate from approximately the same year.

Galano Grotesque is a geometric sans in the tradition of Futura, Avant Garde, Avenir and the like. It has a modern streak which is the result of a harmonization of width and height especially in the lowercase letters to support legibility. Galano Grotesque aims to be a universal weapon not only because it works great in headlines, short and long copies but also because of its subtle neutrality. It comes in 10 different weights with matching italics and is equipped with a set of powerful opentype features including alternative glyphs, fraction, arrows, ligatures and many more. An extended character set, supporting Central, Western and Eastern European languages, rounds up the family. During the design process of the alternative glyph shapes of Galano Grotesque, the interest of creating a standalone version emerged rapidly. This was the birth of Galano Grotesque Alt. Not only because of the legible and unique character created by the alternatives, but also because this could be the small copy embracing stylistic companion to Galano Grotesque. In addition to the alternative glyphs, the height of descender and ascender was increased, supporting structure and rhythm. When finishing Galano Grotesque Alt, it turned out to not only work great in small and long copies but also to be a great performer in headlines and short copies. I'm proud to introduce: Galano Grotesque and Galano Grotesque Alt.

Construct is a technically based headline font that can also be used as body text. The font has some new ligatures that are automatically applied. Construct particularly suitable for headlines which should have a urban and technical character.

The square nature of the type means it could be used as a low resolution type. Forme Furniture Type Em – Low resolution type. Designed using *Furniture and **Em quads from letterpress printing. *Furniture: Pieces of wood or metal placed around or between metal type to make blank spaces and fasten the printed matter in the chase. ** Quads: (originally quadrat) is a metal spacer used in letterpress typesetting. VLNL Beatbox is a solid tech heavy straight stencil-face with a lot of character. It was originally designed as a logo for dj Markus Schultz back in 2004, who rejected it. His management couldn't read it, or thought people wouldn’t be able to read it. But Chef Donald DBXL found the concept interesting enough to finish it and has used it in many projects since. It was the identity font for the Battle of Amsterdam, a talent showcase in beat boxing and other skills. Beatboxing is a style of hiphop music (beats) made with the mouth and a microphone. A box is a handy container to store stuff. Like food, or fonts. We use a lot of boxes at the VetteLetters office. VLNL Beatbox is best deployed big, like in logos or headlines. Or flyers, album covers, posters and signage. As a display and headline typeface it’s got a lot of character. We could definitely see it painted on the side of a tank, or an airplane. Hand-cut wooden letters belonging to a long-defunct salad bar's signage were offered for sale in an online auction. The casual look of the lettering, the hand crafted feel and the rounded ends made for the perfect inspiration for designing Salad Bar JNL.

A 1930s-era sign lettering template set manufactured for the National Carbon Company by Wrico (The Wright-Regan Instrument Company) yielded the familiar lettering that comprises Zoning Department JNL. This rounded-end typestyle was also widely used on architectural drawings, signage, blueprints and the like.

Vintage (circa 1960s) packaging for Parker Cartridge Pen Erasers had the product description printed in bold stencil lettering featuring a squared look with rounded corners. This design has been recreated digitally as Marketing Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The 1938 sheet music for the official Coast Guard Marching Song "Semper Paratus" "(Always Ready)" offered up a hand lettered title in a bold block style with rounded corners and an inline. This is now available as Stationer JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

As the company’s slogan - "catalyzing ideas" - corporate identity focus on crossing technical expertise and personal creativity. It displays a solid square background - inspired by scientific symbols - and a fresh rounded creative attitude.

Paint Hand is based on type drawn with an open acrylic paint tube. This bold vernacular typeface with rugged rounded edges will work well for headers and captions. Paint Hand is extended, containing West European diacritics making it suitable for multilingual environments and publications.

Stencil Octoid JNL was inspired by a set of twelve inch tall stencil letters and numbers made by Duro Art Industries in Chicago. The bold type style with angled rather than rounded corners gives the font a strong feel of industry or military usage.

In the era of digital types, the round handmade cursive continues to intrigue many type designers, probably by their beautiful and graceful calligraphic origins. However, what is certainly true, is that all good traditional pen-formed script may be suitable for a wide range of fine graphic works. The Predy typeface is based on the famous style of the 19th Century: The English handwriting made by pen. It is a connected cursive in the tradition of the “ronde”.
