The 1934 French publication L'Art du Tracé Rationnel de la Lettre is a vintage guide book on lettering chock full of interesting alphabets that have been an ongoing source of digital type revivals from the designs found within its pages. Monthly Statement JNL is a squared slab serif design with some Art Deco flair; available in both regular and oblique versions. This style of type evokes images of billheads, bank statements and other important documents of the era.

Graffiti is all repetition. Style, like brand logos, makes the repetition more recognizable, but style should never keep you from reading the word. Chanse Fresh was a project to make a handstyle font that wasn't self-concious and overworked - the font is clearly readable and fresh AF. Round is the base font with a thin version to create hierarchy or for longer pieces of text. Both round and thin have a "wet" drippy mop tag version best for key text. The font is all caps with alternates, so you can sub in capitals as needed with repetitive letters to change things up. This is a series that takes unfinished typefaces that were either previously ideated but not realized or were close to completion but left incomplete due to dissatisfaction with certain aspects, and brings them to completion. "Oorrnnoott" was originally a project named "Petitgothiquemignon" or "Sangoth". In the process of refining "Kropotokin", several ideas were incorporated into the design. Well, I say "incorporated," but it was designed on a whim, as usual. After all, it was started around 2005, and I don't usually leave notes or anything (which isn't the best habit), so I don't remember the emotions or thoughts behind its creation. Please consider this typeface as a very typical sans-serif font, as that is what I was aiming for when I excavated it this time. Please use it for body text, headlines, eye-catching designs, or whatever you like.

Pipeline is a futuristic and technical looking typeface. But as the name suggest it’s also earthly, (literally). Deep down underneath villages, city’s everywhere and even oceans there’s a network of pipelines. Providing us all sorts of supplies, like water and oil. Sewers wash fluid waste away. They are never to be looked upon as pretty or beautiful but purely functional. The soil peeled off and looked upon from above, a greater industrial infrastructure is revealed, cluttered like spaghetti, complex as the maze of corridors of termite colonies. I present two pipelines to you; one naked and one dressed. This typeface is very suitable for graphic, logo and poster design. It is quadratic shaped with round curves. It is modern and classic at the same time. It could be appealing for young, technical, digital, inventive and urban (sub) culture (at any age).

Kairos Sans, designed by Terrance Weinzierl, is an octagonal sans serif influenced by 19th Century Grecians, with the weights and widths of a contemporary palette. Erdogan Karayel, a master in graphic arts and a cartoon artist, has long dreamed of transforming characters made up of his own handwriting into fonts. This dream has come true with the technical support of Karayel's school friend Sabahattin Kayış, a graduate of the Istanbul School of Applied Fine Arts (Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts). The biggest problem of handwritten fonts in the font world is the difficulty of reading in long texts due to their curved and flexible letters that create spacing problems when used side by side. Toronto Subway is based on the lettering originally used for station identification and signs by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) in the Toronto, Canada, subway system. The first subway line opened in 1954. However, the original lettering remains unique. The lettering on the original signage consists only of uppercase characters and a few bits of punctuation in two weights: Regular and Bold, introduced in 2004. The Toronto Subway fonts were developed from rubbings of the lettering etched into station walls and photographs of painted signs. The overall style of the lettering is very mechanical, almost naive, yet still having a certain amount of elegance. This style was followed as much as possible in creating the extra lowercase, punctuation and other special characters. The Toronto Subway family was expanded in 2014 with the addition of the Light and Black weights.

Surfoid is a bold, soft, hazy, lazy and sleepy font-dude that is most happy under an umbrella at the beach holding a drink with an umbrella in the glass. It’s fun, fun, fun until daddy takes the T-Bird away because of the problems that too much fun creates. It’s a rounded off, a little blurry on the lazy edges and would never want to be a serif font. The design of VLNL Mais started out as a thought experiment – "How would it look if you dressed up FuturaBlack in LatinWide serifs?” DBXL drew up the first sketches on graph paper in 2014. Although the concept looked promising enough, it ended up dormant in a desktop folder. To be resurfaced recently when covid-19 started spreading and we were asked to all stay home. The final design ended up with a distinct latino flavour due to the long spikey serifs. They look like tortilla chips. And as maize is the main ingredient in many South-American and specifically Mexican dishes – tortillas, burritos, nachos, tamales, tacos – a name was quickly found. VLNL Mais was designed by DBXL, and can be used for logos, headlines, flyers or posters (and not just for Mexican restaurants). It can be found in the VetteLetters vegetable section.
