In many aspects, built in a traditional way. Still, some modern details have been implemented which classic designs sometimes lack. The prime goal was to make a strong text font for books and longer texts in general. This fact does not exclude the possibilites for use elsewhere. Throughout history existing designs have often been the source of inspiration for newer ones. Delicato is no exception and looking closely, similarities can be found in the lowercase of Jeremy Tankard’s Enigma and the stems of Petr van Blokland’s Proforma. The goal is to respect these sources and turn the the typeface into something new with a unique and personal touch. Most text faces carry a basic set of weights like Regular, Italic, Bold and Small Caps. MRF wanted to expand that a little bit further and added a Medium, Alternates and a set of Ornaments to make the family complete and versatile.

Irpin Type is an original font dedicated to the city of Irpin. Intended for everyday use, for books, logos, corporate style. It can also be used in posters and presentations where a confident character is needed. This font suits a large size, but it has good readability even in a small one. This is a modern slab serif with geometric shapes, inspired by the Ukrainian avant-garde of the 20th century. It has characteristic alternates for "G", "a", "u", and "&". Irpin is a city of Ukraine in the suburbs of Kyiv. On March 24, 2022, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine in order to celebrate the feat, mass heroism and resilience of citizens, shown in the defense of their cities during the repulsion of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the city was awarded the honorary title "Hero City of Ukraine"

Introducing Terrapin! I named this after listening to a song called "Terrapin on a Tightrope." Considering the fact that a terrapin is a kind of turtle, it makes that song title seem pretty harrowing! This font has heavy roots in one of my favorite lettering styles. It's rough, scrappy, and likes to do its own thing. It has a full uppercase and lowercase set, numbers, punctuation, and lots of extended Latin characters for language support. It also includes alternate versions of 17 lowercase letters. Where Terrapin really shines is in the ligatures. I've written separate two- and three-letter combined forms for some of the most common letter combinations, and a few uncommon ones to boot. There are almost 100 ligatures in here, all PUA-encoded so everyone can access them (and also coded so if your software does automatic ligature replacement, they'll pop right in).

Raljon is a display typeface created by designer and lettering artist Mark Robinson. It is a collaboration between the Mmarkk and Teen-Beat Graphica visual design studios. This single font was created over a period of five years. Mark took great care in finessing each character and making sure that each character would stand on its own and yet simultaneously, be an integral part of the whole. The typeface is inspired by Gothic letterforms, horror novels, speed metal bands of the 1980s, techno and electronic music of the 1990s, and Washington, DC football teams whose stadiums lie in the Maryland suburbs. While it doesn’t have multiple weights, Raljon does have a deep depth and breadth. It has a seemingly endless amount of alternate characters and ligatures. There are nine letter Ms, eight letter As and Fs, seven Rs and Ts, and the list goes on. Even the figures have alternates.

Naïve Sans is a sans serif handwritten font designed by Fanny Coulez and Julien Saurin in Paris. Our goal was to draw a font with finely irregular lines that give a human and whimsical feeling. We drew five finely balanced weights to assure a good readability whatever the size, with contrasting upstrokes and downstrokes to add an unusual, fancy touch. We also designed five shaked versions with different lowercases and uppercases, to improve your designs and bring a more organic and playful feeling. Humanex is the first text typeface of Sébastien Truchet. He created it during the year of postgraduation ‘Systèmes graphiques, typographique & language' in Amiens. The beginning stages of the font development involved calligraphic research based on humanistic ductus. Sébastien’s goal was to introduce modules in a lineal structure. Downstrokes and upstrokes are homogeneous. Links between stem and curve are straight. It gives solidity and thickness to the typographical composition. The first version was a Semi Bold version and its italic. This typeface gave a blackest text. You can see the first display typeface, Humanex Ultralight. Sébastien kept the Semibold structure in order to make a thin typeface. Its goal is to give support to the Semibold version. It is a good typeface in big sizes. In order to add a better legibility, Sébastien built a Book version to have a brightest grey of text. The reading is more comfortable.

Smooth with the roughness and made from scratch, Miser sans serif font family was designed by Mislav Serdarušić and it's name is derived from designers name. Miser typeface blueprints were somewhere in the subconsciousness of the designer but have seen first light of the day in September, 2021. during the Covid pandemic. Inspiration comes from handwritten technical letters of designers parents and graffiti explorations. It comes in 12 styles (6 weights with pairing Italics) with all Latin European language characters which are in daily use(without Greek or Cyrillic). Designed in contemporary appearance with innovations on some letters. Basic ligature set is included. It is suitable for magazines, books and websites, various graphics and paragraphs. Claude Duflos was a French engraver and printmaker at the end of the 1600s. He produced a great number of beautiful plates, executed principally with the graver very neatly finished. At the base of his work we can appreciate his legible lettering carefully executed with his particular ductus. During this period three different hands were developed in France: Ronde (an script deriving from “Civilité”), “Lettre Italianne” and Bâtarde Coulée that is a modification of ronde. The hand of joined letters, which lent itself to a rapid writing, became a model for English round hand or copperplate style. CDuflos is our typographic interpretation of the lettering style produced by Claude Duflos. CDuflos is presented in two versions: Basic and Extended Pro, which include diacritics for Central European languages. The Pro version also comes with a set of decorative glyphs including ligatures, alternates and swashes, including terminal letters and a set of ornaments.

Uranus is a futuristic font inspired by space and extraterrestrial civilizations. The proportions of the letters are wide, the elements of the letters have organic curves, reminiscent of the design of streamlined spaceships. What gives the font a special character is the excessive contrast between the upper element and the crossbar in letters such as A, B, E, F, K, P, R. In these letters, there is a barely noticeable intra-letter gap in the form of a line. Due to this contrast and rounded elements in these letters, a negative space of a triangular shape also turned out. Particular attention should be paid to the broad language support for the font. The font has support for Latin, extended Cyrillic, and Korean (2780 base syllables). Total glyphs: 3562. Uranus is well-suited for large typography, logos, and any other design related to futurism and space.

During the last ten years of his life, Hans Eduard Meier (dec. July 17, 2014), together with Max Schläpfer, developed an innovative concept of a new Swiss Schulschrift (handwriting script for schools) called ABC Basisschrift®. His life’s work is crowned by the fact that now, since the fall of 2014, and beginning in Lucerne, this new didactic will replace the old Schnürlischrift in Switzerland. In contrast with the Schnürlischrift, the idea is to guide a child in three steps to learning a personal handwriting. ABC Schule 1 is for the first grade, ABC 2 starts to introduce the first connections and ABC 4 Ligaturen is designed with many ligatures to serve as a good example for handwriting. This script font is inspired by the flexible nib strokes to create a concatenation of refinement with character mixing the contrast with pronounced but rounded angles. This angles along with the inktraps give the font a better performance when printing. Texts will have a very even rhythm due to its consistency on the stroke’s angle and spacing. Where the heck does a name like Chaloops come from? You know that Chihuahua that used to sell the tacos? Chank's mother-in-law calls him Chalupa. And the American pluralization for that must be Chaloops, because that's her nickname for her two little spoiled fuzzball dogs. Another comic variation on Chank's whimsical handwriting, Chaloops is bouncy, quirky, and light-hearted like the Chauncy fonts. But Chaloops has more squiggles and its stroke terminals are mostly square. Just like you. Chaloops the font comes with a few alternate characters to give your designs a more authentic hand-drawn look. It all started with the letter S. I drew it, I liked it, I based a font around it! This is Pickled Limes, a tall and narrow single-case font. It's built clean from the ground up, for ultra-sharp lines and corners, as well as super-smooth curves. The slightly flared ends and quirky character mix make this font a ton of fun to use on its own, but it will also pair well with tons of hand-written styles! I've branched out on this one; in addition to over 300 Extended Latin characters, I've also included Unicode's 256 Cyrillic and 121 Greek characters for even more language support. Add in the 90+ alternates, ligatures, and catchwords, and Pickled Limes clocks in at just over 1000 characters. Before the Great War, there were great posters. Posters of elegance and grandeur. Posters calling people to the pleasures of sunny southern France and to the perfections of northern Italy’s dolce vita. Le Havre, based on a poster by AM Cassandre, was one of my first typefaces that took inspiration from this genre. Now, the golden memories of years past are the inspiration for insigne design’s new Gineso Titling as well. Gineso revives the retro forms of past poster design with its newly crafted sense of humanity, which is amplified by a great variety of texture options. While the new forms are perfect for posters, this titling font is also ideal for bringing the charm of pre-war Southern Europe to a new bottle of wine, to fine foods and beverages, and to high-end logotypes. For the grandeur and elegance you need in your titling, look to Gineso Titling.

New Kakuji is designed from the Kakuji style of characters originating during the Edo period of Japan. New Kakuji has expanded the historical character set to include the surnames from the ancient Chinese text: Hundred Family Surnames, as well as the most common surnames in Japan, in addition to many other historically and culturally significant words, going well beyond the scope of characters that were used in the Edo period. No other font has expanded the character set of the Kakuji Style to the same extent as New Kakuji. A Latin alphabet expansion inspired by the old Kakuji style has also been included for western audiences and designers. New Kakuji contains over 500 Chinese/Japanese characters along with over 200 additional Latin characters or symbols. The solid and blocky style of New Kakuji is ideal for seal designs or other branding designs and should be used at larger point sizes.

The 1928 logotype for Sertal Toiletries consisted of a stylized woman's head, a very snaky S, and five fine, fat deco caps spelling out the rest of the brand name. From these five clues, designer Nick Curtis divined the rules" of the typeface and drew a complete alphabet, including a lower case. The result: ITC Scram Gravy. The finished product could be described as Bodoni on steroids. Tight curls in characters like the 'm,' 'r' and 'y' soften the lower case and give the design a light-hearted flavor. ITC Scram Gravy takes its name from one of many running gags in the screwball comic strip "Smokey Stover," which had folks alternately splitting their sides and scratching their heads from 1935 to 1973. Those familiar with Bill Holman's strip will recall Smokey's car, the Foomobile, and one of his famous nonsense declarations: "No foo-ling, that scram gravy ain't wavy.""

Groovy started out as a prospective variant in the ‘Flashback’ series but very quickly established its own distinct appearance, especially with the lower case letters blending into the format so well. There wasn't any preconceived idea to design a retro looking font in principle, it simply evolved that way, but I do think it has several characteristics reminiscent of style genres from the '70s. It’s probably quite subliminal and like me, you may find yourself thinking, what does that remind me of? The double-entendre'd title is quite apt too, not merely for reasons of its outwardly retro appearance but also because of the considered, rounded elements forming the negative spaces throughout. The font also has something of a chameleon-like personality, being both adaptable and capable of having a trendy / fun appearance, or alternatively something solid and stylish, depending on the use, as demonstrated in the banner examples here.

Although a conjunction of different styles were a reference during the design process; the art deco style left a more noticeable influence in the final design. Knoedel, also has clear references to geometric and slab serif fonts. The design is intended to be applied on headlines or short text fragments. Knoedel offers full coverage for all languages using Latin alphabet: whole Europe, America, Oceania and on a big number of African and Asian countries. Besides the standard ligatures, Knoedel, additionally, has more than 200 discretionary ligatures and a generous number of borders and ornaments. Knödel (Knoedel) is a traditional dish from Austria and the southeast of Germany; made of dumplings of different ingredients usually boiled in salted water. It is not high-end cuisine but still, it accomplishes its aim of soothing hunger.

Costanera is a neohumanist typeface with both soft strokes and endings, which is inspired by 90s typefaces. It has an organic aspect and curved finials associated to the early calligraphy, while its straight angles give Costanera a technological and futuristic impression. Costanera weights go from thin to black, thus it can be used in short-impact phrases ideally using Black or Thin weight and extensive texts selecting the Book version. On the other hand, due to its calligraphic-futuristic features Costanera is perfectly suitable for different fields, such as vanguard technology, architecture, and signage topics. This typeface is composed of a Normal and Alternative version, adding 32 weights in total. Stylistic sets, small caps, ligatures, lining and old style numbers, fractions, circle numbers and arrows are part of the Opentype features. Moreover, this project comes with 790 glyphs that allows to write in 219 languages.

I am a HUGE fan of Bernard Cornwell’s ‘The Saxon Stories’. Ever since a television series has been made, the series of books is also know as ‘The Last Kingdom’. I have read them all, at break-neck speed and I can’t wait for the next book!! Wintanceastre (Winchester) is based on a 10th century Latin manuscript. I have tried to stay close to the original letters, but since Latin does not have all modern glyphs, I found myself designing the missing ones. So, before you scold me for having made a font that is historically inaccurate: it was never meant to be an exact replica, nor would anyone want an exact replica, as it would be useless for modern texts and designs. Wintanceastre comes with a whole bunch of ligatures and alternate glyphs. Use it for any design that needs a little ‘Dark Ages’ look!

Frau Becker is a very dynamic and readable handwriting script that looks great in text sizes. It is a self-confident, expressive and strong character design. How old is Frau Becker? Is she an insurance agent, a surgeon or a designer? We do not know exactly but one thing is for sure: she can be found at any place where special, high-end design in conjunction with a reliable typographic basis is demanded, e.g. for posters, books, ad campaigns or magazines. Frau Becker is different from all other classical scripts – it is outstanding! Due its excellent readability, it is a precious and exceptional text font with styles as regular, bold, and Headline (bold condensed). The character set includes Basic Latin, Basic Latin 1, Latin Eastern Europe, small caps, plenty of ligatures, old style figures, index figures, and some special characters including a skull. Wow!!

Sumergible Script is a striking font that simulates it has been written with a dry pointed brush on textured paper. Its purpose is to decorate and accompany photos, illustrations and textures by letters designed with a generous horizontal spacing between lowercase which reinforces the idea of hurriedly and interrupted cursive calligraphy. In that sense it is spontaneous and useful to form vibrant words and sentences, shining short messages on book covers, posters and other graphic design media. Sumergible Script has new alternative letter forms that are activated with OpenType features creating hierarchy changes in writing. With Swash for example, you can change the character case with metric and similar proportions. With Titling it becomes even more expressive capitalization. Other OpenType features are: Fractions and Superscript. In short, Sumergible Script is designed to mix and match words and short phrases with a vital and expressive handwritten feel.

The Keiss type family is our interpretation of the popular nineteen century Scotch Roman typefaces. We intended to keep a very classic approach while introducing a couple of new elements that differentiate this type family from it’s ancestors. This design, with short descenders and ascenders, along with three very distinct optical sizes makes this type family well suited for contemporary newspapers. The Title and Big versions range from Thin to Heavy, with matching italics, in order to be used in big sizes and stand out in the design. The Text ranges from Thin to ExtraBold and is a standalone type family for text usage, with narrow proportions and wider and open italics for improved text setting. The Condensed versions, ranging from Thin to Bold, don’t have italics, although they can be matched with the italics of the Title and Big versions, due to the fact they are very condensed.
