  6. Teacher's Pet by Scrowleyfonts, $18.00
So often as a designer I have wanted a handwriting font that is modern, natural and realistic, simple and attractive. I created this font to meet my own need. Teacher's Pet makes full use of the knowledge I have acquired over the years designing school handwriting fonts. It contains many contextual alternates to ensure that the flow of writing is as unartificial as possible. I have been disciplined in its creation, always making and coding a new glyph to ensure this flow rather than compromising.
  7. Boedimant by Fype Co, $14.00

  8. Crippled Font by Ingrimayne Type, $9.00
Its name, CrippledFont, might lead you to think that this font was missing important characters. It is not. Rather it is a letterbat font composed of crutches and canes. It is caps only, with the lower-case keys having an alternative set of capitals. It has an extensive set of accented letters that will support most European languages.
  9. DF Staple Mono by Dutchfonts, $33.00
DF Staple Mono is a personal answer on the archaic and ‘middle-of-the-road’-forms of typewriter typefaces like ‘Courier’ and ‘American Typewriter’. The form of a staple (office supply no. 1) and its transformations inspired me during the design process. The first four weights are all monospaced and are completed with a real italic.
  10. Alchemite by Comicraft, $19.00
Turn base letters into gold, bring a norse flavor to your dialogue, and may you live happily ever after! Conjured up by John Roshell of Comicraft for Kurt Busiek and David Wenzel's 'Wizard's Tale', this font should be handled with great care, lest it turn you into a toad. Artwork from The Wizard's Tale by Busiek & Wenzel
  11. Vow Neue by Thinkdust, $10.00
As glamorous as its name would suggest, Vow Neue is the new fashion model on the typeface scene. Vow Neue loves excess without losing style, containing itself in strict forms that belie a boundless desire. Sharp edges lead into enticing curves in all the right places, making this a font that draws the eye and keeps up interest.
  12. Mordova by Holis.Mjd, $14.00
The font is done with a minimalist touch of gothic and blackletter, inspired by several music and bands that I was currently enjoying and often listened to throughout the day, where the music depicts a little visually in the form of font characters like this Mordova font, feels loud, vibrant , dark but simple and easy to read.
  13. Railway Point by Melissa Lapadula, $11.95
This typeface has been influenced by the ongoing traffic congestion in Melbourne, and its lack of functional and reliable public transport as a possible solution. The font shapes are square-edged constrained angles, reflecting the way the Melbourne population feels when using the public transport system or roads. Use as headings and body copy in any graphic situation.

  15. XLaserTrain by Ingrimayne Type, $14.95
The first release of XLaserTrain, a toy train font, was constructed by taking bits from the four LetterTrain fonts. Version 2, released in late 2010, added a great many cars with holiday and party themes. The bold version has smoke over the cars and you may have to adjust line spacing (leading) to have it display properly.
  16. Goudy Old Style by Bitstream, $29.99
Inspired by the Froben capitals believed to have been cut by Peter Schoeffer the Younger, son of Gutenberg’s apprentice, this design is neither strictly a Venetian nor an Aldine. The archaic approach and lack of the Aldine model lead us to place the face in the Venetian group. The design owes more to Goudy than to Schoeffer.

  19. Mantequilla JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
Some unusual hand lettering was found on the cover of the 1924 edition of a Spanish language novel by Joaquin Belda entitled “La Hora del Abandono” ("The Time of Abandonment"). The title was created as all lower case characters in a semi-serif style reflecting the dawn of the Art Deco movement. A new set of capital letters was created for this digital revival, along with the numbers, punctuation and other necessary glyphs. Mantequilla JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions. For those unfamiliar with the Spanish language, Mantequilla (pronounced mon-tay-key-yuh) means butter.

  21. Aure Nox by Aure Font Design, $23.00
Aure Nox inspires the chill whimsy of a haunted forest. The roughhewn forms of this decorative, sans-serif font engage the reader with a subtext of rakish charm. Surprisingly legible, Nox adds a bit of rebelious sass to text and titles, and a daring stance to astrological expressions and chartwheels. Nox is an original design developed by Aurora Isaac. After more than a decade in development, 2018 marks the first release of the CJ and KB glyphsets in regular, italic, bold, and bold-italic. The CJ glyphset is a full text font supporting a variety of European languages. A matching set of small-caps complements the extended lowercase and uppercase glyphsets. Supporting glyphs include standard ligatures, four variations of the ampersand, and check-mark and happy-face with their companions x-mark and grumpy-face. Numbers are available in lining, oldstyle, and small versions with numerators and denominators for forming fractions. Companion glyphs include Roman numerals, specialized glyphs for indicating ordinals, and a variety of mathematical symbols and operators. The CJ glyphset also includes an extended set of glyphs for typesetting Western Astrology. These glyphs are also available separately in the KB glyphset: a symbol font re-coded to allow easy keyboard access for the most commonly used glyphs. Though Nox stands well on its own as a text font, the more traditional sans-serif forms of Aure Jane pair well as an innocuous foil to Nox's brazen presence. Give Aure Nox a trial run! You may discover a permanent place for this font family in your typographic palette. AureFontDesign.com

  26. ZionTrain Pro by AndrijType, $39.00
Originally ZionTrain was built as a (probably first in Cyrillic!) navigation typeface for the Kharkiv identity project and Kharkiv subway and airport navigation systems. We wanted comprehensible, distinctive letterforms, that can help everybody on the way from Babylon to Zion. The project was used in Kharkiv promotion at homeland and abroad, but was rejected by the new government. As a corporate typeface it was used for a few cultural projects. Now it is equipped with Slavic Cyrillic and Monotonic Greek and has special Stencil faces especially for low-budget navigations (don't forget to get your own Stencil Medium for free!).
  27. Sreet Pieces by Tomatstudio, $12.00
Now everyone can create simple pieces of graffiti in an easy way. With all our experiences in the real graffiti scene combined with our skill in creating fonts, we create these "Street Pieces." This is a simple version of a wildstyle graffiti piece; you can clearly read the font; unlike heavy wildstyle, which not everyone can read clearly, your message is still clear with this font. It's very easy to use, but for a better result, you should adjust the kerning and lead manually because the real graffiti is like that, and use your own graffiti style because there are no rules in graffiti. In this package, you’ll get two fonts. "Street Pieces Line" for the line, and "Street Pieces Fill" for the fill. Don’t forget to combine with "alternate" fonts; see the preview fonts for the sample; and also add a drop shadow or extrude effect to make it more realistic.
  28. Diverda Serif by Linotype, $29.99
Diverda Serif is a contemporary typeface that is free from ornament. Created by Swiss designer Daniel Lanz, Diverda Serif is optimized for maximum legibility. In contrast to many other modern typefaces, which try to squeeze the traditional rounder forms of the alphabet into square designs, and which often attempt to equalize the widths of the capital letters, Diverda Serif remains true to the proper proportions of the Roman alphabet. The x-heights of Diverda Serif's characters are low, and the differences between curved, square, and triangular elements are very clear. Like the more calligraphic typefaces of the past, Diverda Serif's strokes exhibit contrast that is inspired by movements of the pen on paper; down strokes are heavier than up strokes. Possible applications for the Diverda Serif include magazine design, as well as advertising for fashion, design, or architectural products. Diverda Serif is also a good fit for Corporate Identity solutions.
  29. Dorset by Positype, $49.00
Dorset marks Léon Hugues first script typeface and first release with the Positype Flourish label. Built crosscurrent to a strict revival or calligraphic digitization, Dorset’s aim was to understand how a font could interact with various calligraphic influences in a single execution and how that interpretation by Léon would lead to new, exclusive design choices. The design purposely chose to connect various gestures from Spencerian handwriting and copperplate calligraphy and meld that with his initial experiments with fine, flat nibs. The result is wholly unique and useful when clear, open, and legible script typography is desired. OpenType features included in this typeface allow the user to seamlessly move from an italic to connected script, while the various stylistic sets can lead you to variations of texture and rhythm, allowing for a more personal and exact expression.
  30. Penabico by Intellecta Design, $23.90
After 13 months of hard work, Iza W and Intellecta Design are proud to announce Penabico. This is a free interpretation of the copperplate script styles to be found in the Universal Penman . London, 1741 , the monumental publication of engraved work by George Bickham (along with collaborators Joseph Champion, Wellington Clark, Nathaniel Dove, Gabriel Brooks, William Leckey and many others). This enhanced OpenType version is a complete solution for producing documents and artworks which need this kind of calligraphic script: 100s of stylistic alternates for each letter (upper- and lowercase), accessed with the glyph palette; 250 ornaments and fleurons (mostly in the copperplate roundhand renaissance style) encoded in the dingbats range and accessed with the glyph palette (plus a special set with over 50 of these ornaments accessed with the ornaments feature); an extensive set of ligatures (100s of stylistic and contextual alternates plus discretionary ligatures) providing letterform variations that make your designs really special, resembling real handwriting on the page; complete, intricate, ready-made calligraphic words; abbreviations (in many languages). The principal font contains the complete Latin alphabet, including Central European, Vietnamese, Baltic and Turkish with all diacritic signs, punctuation marks (including interrobang ). The German ‘ß’ (germandbls, eszett, sharp s) even has over six different alternate forms. And we don't forget to add the unconventional germandbls uppercase. In non-OpenType-savvy applications it works well as an English commercial script style font. Because of its high number of alternate letters and combinations (over 1500 glyphs), we suggest the use of the glyph palette to find ideal solutions to specific designs. The sample illustrations will give you an idea of the possibilities. You have full access to this amazing stuff using InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXpress and similar software. However, we still recommend exploring what this font has to offer using the glyphs palette. Two last things — we have placed some of the ornaments, catch-words and other material in supplementary fonts, for easier access in non-OpenType-savvy programs. They are: Penabico Words (see the pdf user guide in “Gallery”), Penabico Abbreviations (free font), and Penabico Extras (free font). And, when buying Penabico you get the 'Penabico EPS Bonus Set", a gift pack containing various highly intrincated frames in EPS format, easy and ready to work with your preferred vector design software like Corel or Illustrator (see the pdf in the Gallery). 34. False Idol by Barnbrook Fonts, $30.00
False Idol is based on bad rub-down lettering from 1970s pornographic magazines and home-made religious leaflets. The letterforms were intended to mimic a feeling of cheap glamour but just became seedy. Somehow an alluring beauty emerges from this mix of sleaze and chic...

  38. Oak Street by Three Islands Press, $39.00
There's a little restaurant in an old house on a sidestreet in town (Rockland, Maine, USA) called Cafe Miranda. The staff is friendly, the setting intimate, and the appetizer a basket of hot bread fresh from a brick oven. Its ample menu features such entries as "Quasi-Cassoulet" and "Gentle Sole." It's among my favorite local places to dine out. But the menu got photocopied once too often, and Cindy's personable handlettering got faded and broken. So I took matters into my own hands. And here's what I delivered to the newly computerized folks at the little restaurant on Oak Street. You, too, can travel in rather heavy felt-tip style.
  39. Certainly! Imagine stepping into a disco in the 1970s, but instead of dancing, everyone is gracefully swaying in loops and whorls, their movements smooth, connected, and oh-so stylish. That's the ess...
