This is my new, completely worked over and fine-tuned Bodoni Classic for Europe (no Greek and Cyrillic). I have added a set of elegant Swashes (B) and 2 alternating uppercase swirly Initials (C) as well as two lowercase end-letters (D). The fonts A and B have extensive kerning, which the initials (C) don't need, they are aligned to replace the standard capital letter. The lowercase end-letters (D) are aligned to replace the standard lowercase letters, so you might need to add a blank after the swirl. A FEW THOUGHTS Indie is a trendy script, result of the wide range of possibilities that can be achieved using a pointed brush. (1) “You Only Live Once” say The Strokes, (to me, symbols of indie music) so, what would represent that sensation of volatility better than a brush? As you may already know, this time inspiration came from hipsters and indies around us: We may sometimes criticise them, we may sometimes want to be like them, but the truth is that the universo gráfico they generated these past years is gigantic, full of colour and variations. (2) Brush lettering and Sign painting are fields I've been fond of since I started as a designer. Nowadays, these styles are getting a lot of attention and maybe it’s due to the undeniable mark of life that is materialised when using a brush. Facit is a contemporary sans serif text face. It is designed to be a highly legible and flexible font that does not draw the attention to itself. Instead of being original by itself it is the result of a careful examination of ancient as well as modern formal concepts. “It is by definition impossible to design an un-conventional typeface. Type is pure convention, this is why we can read each other’s written words”, says its designer Tim Ahrens. However, rather than generating an average, existing principles were consciously combined into a unique design solution: The word ‘Facit’, in its German version, means ‘conclusion’. An early drawing tablet was largely responsible for the LeakorLeach typefaces. They resemble hand lettering using cake icing or done with an ink pen that leaves lots of ink blobs or ink blots. The family has two widths, plain and condensed, and in addition to each having an oblique style, each also has a leftward-inclined style. There may not be many uses for a leftward-inclined typeface, but for those needing one, the LeakorLeach family offers two. The LeakorLeach typefaces are unlike any other faces from IngrimayneType.

Genki Desu is one of those Japanese expressions that are used a lot and don’t really mean what you think they mean. You can use it as a greeting: O Genki Desu Ka? (お元気ですか - how are you), or to say you’re feeling fine (元気です - Genki Desu). The word Genki also means ‘energy’ or ‘vigor’. I am not an expert, in fact, there’s so much Japanese I can actually speak (shame on me), but Genki Desu is one of my favourites. Maybe just because it sounds so nice!

Neuch is a neat typeface for greeting cards, children's books, labels and signs, handmade goodies packaging, and other cheerful designs. Drawn with a sharp-tipped ink pen, the letters kick their legs up and down, stretch out their tails, and hop along gaily, as if not obeying any rules. The cute characters look like they are one big family—they get into arguments, mix noisily and good-humoredly, push each other, yet always stick together. Neuch can speak several languages and has ligatures, decorative elements, and even a cat and a dog.

"Punk is not dead, grunge is not dread, skateboarding and grafitti is forever" - shouted by some (possibly drunk!) person one late night. I had these "wise" words in the back of my mind, while making this font. I wanted to capture the wildness of both punk/grunge/skateboarding and grafitti without overdoing any of them!

Wild Pen is a handwritten typeface created through an experimental pen that’s made from recycled plastic bottle. Its spontaneous strokes are very free and allow presence of drops and blots of ink. The complete family consists of five different fonts, which have the same feeling, and allow mixing them to obtain a lifelike, handwritten text. OpenType users may choose Wild Pen OT, which includes not just the five basic sets but also contains many additional alternative characters and some discretionary ligatures. Stencille Une is that long-sought delicate and refined stencil font. Unique but not gimmicky, giving it the legibility often lost in most stencil fonts. Totally kerned pairs, including puncuation.

My pet peeve for many years has been with the 'rn' in small texts, especially with my smart phone. I felt that perhaps others may have the same peeve. I decided to try and fix that with Atlantica. As you can see in poster No. 4. "With the combination of 'rn' in small text it tends to appear as 'm'. Therefore it may be read as 's t e m' instead of 's t e r n'. Altalntica has an alternate 'rn'. By invoking the < Contextual-Alternate > feature. Atlantica will replace each 'rn' - or you may individually change them if you desire". Also note the deep cuts to help legibility for smaller texts. This combination apparently does not appear in many words, but when it does it can suggest a different word as in; eastern, stern, tarnish, Tornado, Turn and in some names as well.

Compasse is a semi-condensed sans-serif family designed by Ryoichi Tsunekawa and the whole family consists of 12 style: six weights from Thin to ExtraBold and their matching Italics. The range of styles provides flexibility for title, headline and body text. And the large x-heights increases legibility and readability. The basic skeleton of their letterform was not designed over-modularly but moderately semi-modularly (adjusted by designer's experience). Therefore the typical artificiality and unnaturalness which come from module-design does not exist in this family. The sophisticated letterform and its universal, neutral, and standard design make it possible to be used across a wide range of applications in all medias, all purposes. Compasse supports almost all european languages: Western, Central, South Eastern Europeans and afrikaans.
