The Monotype Janson font family is based on types originally cut by the Hungarian punch-cutter, Nicolas Kis circa 1690. Named after Anton Janson, a Dutch printer. The original matrices came into the hands of the Stempel foundry in Germany in 1919. New type was cast and proofs made; these were used as the source for Monotype's version of Janson. The Bitstream version of Caslon Bold of the American Type Founders, 1905. Based on William Caslon I’s first English Old Style typefaces of 1725. Caslon modeled his designs based on late 17th century Dutch types, but his artistic skills enabled him to improve those models, bringing a variety of forms and subtlety of details. P22 CoDependent is a revival of the Independant typeface from 1930 created by Dutch designer Johannes Nicolaas Coenraad Collette along with Jos Dufour from Belgium. Independant was released in metal by the Belgian division of the Amsterdam Type Foundry in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the independence of Belgium from the Netherlands. Despite the name, the two fonts contained in the set, Regular and Shadow, are not codependent upon each other. They can be used alone, but together they can create a dynamic two-color option. There have been other fonts inspired by and revived directly from Independant, but this version adheres the original design with the added consideration of how the shadow version will overlap.

Brouwerij means Brewery in Dutch. I just liked the name and it seemed to fit the font quite well. As for me, believe it or not, I’m not a beer drinker! I can’t understand why people go nuts when the word beer is mentioned. Like it is something special (after all, it is the third most consumed beverage after water and tea). Like you are not a man when you don’t drink beer! Brouwerij is a pleasant all caps font that comes with interesting swashes for the upper class letters. You can (obviously) use it to promote your home made brew, but any other drink can use a bit of Brouwerij as well.
