Celluloid JNL was modeled from a few samples shown in a 1947 sales catalog for changeable letter directory boards and the various styles available for these signs. Censorship JNL joins the wide array of stencil-themed fonts from Jeff Levine. An advantage to this particular design is the larger amount of stencil sections per letter or number. When used with a plotter/cutter, stencils in excess of 12 inches high can be cut into masking material without the cut-out characters becoming floppy or unstable.

Advertising Gothic is based on a style of fonts from the 1920s which was commonly used in advertising and poster design. The style is clearly influenced by the Art Deco movement. It combines deco style decorated initials with dramatic capital letters. The font comes in two different versions. Advertising Gothic Plain features initials which do not have the deco decorations and less fancy letter forms. Advertising Gothic Deo features deco embellishments on the initials and more elaborate versions of the main letter forms.

Winner of the "no prizes for guessing" category, Overlapper's main feature is that the letters overlap slightly. I thought it best to just come straight out with it. In case there's someone just recovering from a lobotomy. There's an extended character set with accented letters and extensive punctuation, in case you need to do anything more than basic displays and titles. A long time ago, I used to work in a Pundak near the Dead Sea. It was a typical halfway restaurant slash gas station and you could order the usual dishes: fries, schnitzel, salad. Of course, this typeface has nothing to do with that Pundak; I just thought about the time I spent there when I created it. Pundak font is an all caps contoured affair. Ideal for packaging (not just Schnitzels…), headlines and posters. It comes with all the diacritics.

I keep experimenting with handwritten fonts, shapes and lines. I want the font to set the tone, the atmosphere, and look like an inscription made in a hurry, but still readable. Riposte is a powerful and carefully-integrated handwriting font. You should use it where you want to create a strong impact but want to avoid heavy, boxy, formal fonts. The cloth-backed tape was invented some time during World War II, and also proved itself useful as a base material for lettering. VLNL Duct was originally designed by DBXL as a logo for temporary Amsterdam restaurant BAUT. DBXL imagined an owner taping the name on the window of his shop using Duct tape. The font was used for all communication of the restaurant. Duct is a sturdy, rough all-caps typeface that will stick to anything.
