Fizgiger is a chance to kick back and take break from designing some of insigne's more serious typefaces, like the sans serif Aberlyth. It is an extension of the ideas of Blue Goblet, but includes more frills and a more pronounced vertical stress. A clean sans serif, originally constructed as a proprietary font for a German IT-company. From the beginning it was designed to work both in print and on screen and experience shows that it performs well in both environments. First released as a commercial typeface with GarageFonts in 2002 and later with the Fountain Type Foundry (2004). During 2007-08 the family was expanded and upgraded into a full OpenType Pro package. The company Jura have since long used Stalemate as part of thier corporate identity. They have also licensed special versions with full support for Greek and Cyrillic languages. This will be available as a commercial option in the near future.

Although initially designed as a rational/geometric font, Triplex developed into one of Zuzana Licko's most intuitive typeface designs at the time. Its first extensive use was in Emigre magazine #14, a special issue devoted to Swiss designers published in 1990. Triplex was intended as a friendly substitute for Helvetica. The name Triplex refers to the three versions that make up the entire family; Triplex, Triplex Serif and Triplex Italic. Each version of the typeface comes in light, bold and extra bold. Flax Regular lives in a somewhat unusual space... it is not a normal “handwriting” font, nor is it a formal script, or a rounded italic. Flax is a slightly more formal handwriting script that is extremely legible and useful- it can stretch from invitations to packaging, to menus, to brochures to ads. The rough hand-drawn finish gives Flax some of its unique character. This is almost unnoticeable in smaller point sizes while clearly visible in display sizes. While Flax is slightly formal, it has a very friendly presence - mainly from the unpretentious rounded characters and rough finish. This typeface was inspired strongly by one of Ernhardt Ratdolt’s (1442-1528?) many beautiful typefaces. Mr. Ratdolt was a printer from the city of Augsburg, who had also worked for several years as a printer in Venice. He made many advances in printing technique and technology, including the decorated title page. Early books have a mysterious rhythm to the appearance of the text, due to small variances in letters caused by casting irregularities and ink transfer from the press. This supposed defect, which is present in this typeface, gives a pleasing effect when compared to the sterile regularity of modern printing technology. This font has been released as version 2.0 with over two hundred additional characters and improved metrics.

Maria Martina Schmitt was born in Vienna, Austria in 1950. Since 1998, she has been working as a freelance designer, focusing on cultural collateral, economic publications, illustration, type design, and logo design. Airam blends contemporary legibility with historic blackletter forms, creating a contemporary text face that speaks to the old European past. Airam certainly appears darker than most other contemporary text faces. Airam’s letterforms are slightly broken, too. They display angled joints in lieu of smooth curves. This “broken” aspect actually aids legibility at smaller point sizes. In my on-going quest for display fonts to be used with my books and on my book covers, I decided I need a squared sans serif. I started the build off of Fiscal, a font I designed back in 2006. I never liked the font, plus my tastes have changed. So, I opened it, made it narrower, increased the x-height, and various stuff like that. I made it much heavier—an ended up with Boxy. Then my brain slapped me and said, "Why don't you make a sorta modern version?" So, I did and decided to call that style Chic. But then I wanted a thin version also. Fiscal was always too heavy and ponderous for me. So, I made the Thin style. Finally, I felt I needed an italic of Chic. OpenType features didn't seem to work well with the family, so all I added was oldstyle figures. So, I ended up with another of my unique families—with two unmodulated fonts: Thin and Medium, and two modulated fonts: Chic and Chic Italic. But, I'm pleased with it. My hope is that you will like it also.

Diaconia Old Style is a new rendition of my workhorse body copy font that I originally designed to use for the body copy of "Printing in a Digital World." I became increasingly upset with the lack of lowercase numbers and true small caps. Diaconia started life as a modification of one of the Dutch Bible fonts I traced. It has changed a lot since then (although I have a hard time telling how much because I have lost the original). The plain and italic work especially well when used in very large sizes as display faces. The other four variants (small caps, heavy, heavy italic, and black) are designed for use in book production. Because I format all my own books, I was able to design fonts that met my needs exactly: lowercase numbers, SMALL CAPS font, Mac Command, Option, and Control symbols, ballot box in the section slot, and several other special characters. DiaconiaPro is the OpenType family of my body copy workhorse. Broadgauge Ornate originated from MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan in 1869 and was only available as an all caps font with numbers. Today this old beautiful wood type rises again from the archives complete with original numbers and an all new lowercase. Because this font works well with a Las Vegas theme I've decided to make the pointing hands gambling related with one set of hands rolling dice and the other holding cards. The condensed versions were created because in today's computer graphics applications people stretch and condense fonts to fit their project but don't notice the change in vertical stroke widths or line thickness. After compressing the letter shapes of each Broadgauge Ornate condensed font the vertical lines were corrected making sure they were the proper width or thickness. The results are balanced condensed versions that weren't simply compressed with out consideration for their appearance.
