Technically a crowbar is a straight metal rod used for digging. The tool I had in mind when I named this font is called a jemmy or pry bar, but I guess I liked the name crowbar better. Crowbar font, like its namesake, is a very useful tool: its brush-like appearance fits any design, especially if you are aiming for the ‘scary’ look. Comes with a toolbox full of diacritics too!

Low Def, short for Low Definition, is inspired by fonts displayed on old CRT televisions / monitors, sometimes with quirky characteristics. From video game consoles, home computers to the dim noisy arcades. With it's lower resolution analogue signal shown through scanlines, it created a smoothened look that blended together the pixels on CRT displays. The family consist of 5 different widths, from Extra Narrow to Extra Wide. Roman, Cyrillic, Katakana & Hiragana are supported.

Dynamic and urgent in style, Delux draws influence from '50s science fiction pulp magazines and hand-painted military letterforms. Delux evokes an era when the future was neo-plastic, solid-state, isotopic bright (and everything was better with fins and chromium plating). Both retro-futuristic and nostalgic, Delux embodies a time when there was no melancholic longing for the past, just a naive burning optimism that 'things to come' would be better.

In the heyday of "Tin Pan Alley", a song plugger was one whose job it was to bring a publisher's song to the attention of performers, show producers and radio station executives; the forerunner of the promotion man who visited disk jockeys with new record releases in the hopes of getting them played on the air. Song Plugger JNL was based on hand lettering spotted on some late-1920s-early 1930s sheet music.

Belmont JNL is named for an avenue in the Bronx, New York famous for once being the location of the Belmont Estate, which was the home of the Lorrillard tobacco family. The Art-Deco-era hand lettering from some vintage sheet music is the basis for this type design. During the 1950s a quartet of teenaged Italian-American singers took the street's name for their vocal group, naming themselves Dion and the Belmonts.

Cosmata is geometric sans serif family of 10 fonts suitable for both display and reading use. Inspired by Futura, Cosmata developed its own complex, unique life. To that end, I've included alternate letterforms for a finely-tailored typographic experience. The rhythm, kerning, and spacing have been lovingly crafted for an elegant reading experience. Lettering has an unusual way of adapting itself to many needs. The type style for Sporting Chance JNL was based on metal house identification letters used for Welcome Home JNL. The same type of block design was prevalent in 1920s-1930s era window signage via die-cut foil characters. Yet we tend to nowadays associate block lettering with sports-themed items. Attica is a slab typeface with inverted contrast that was inspired by Caslon’s Italian type and by Aldo Novarese’s Estro, published by the turinese foundry Nebiolo. We wanted to develop a wood type typeface and we designed the complete alphabet with a flat long brush and slowly we did the whole character set. Attica contains a big set of icons and dingbats. This font was created in honor of my husband for our 12th wedding anniversary. 14 years ago, I met this tall, skinny guy from Indiana in the lobby of a hotel in Hong Kong. We talked. The next day, we had lunch together. And that night we had dinner together. And the next day. And the next. We met just before my 19th birthday, and on my birthday he took me to the top of Victoria Peak, where we looked out over the city of Hong Kong- such a beautiful place to begin a lifetime of love! We spent 4 months together in Hong Kong, falling in love with each other and with the beautiful city we were privileged to call home for that short time. We married the next year. We've lived in Indiana, Texas, China, Kentucky, and Florida over those 12 years of marriage and have welcomed 2 daughters into our lives. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he completes my life in a way I didn't know was possible. And I know that I'm blessed beyond words to have a supportive, wonderful, encouraging husband who is also a loving, involved, caring dad to our daughters. This font is for you, Keith!

Sign Helpers JNL is a collection of silhouette images carefully redrawn from two distinct sources. Prior to their bankruptcy in 1984, the Holes-Webway Company of St. Cloud, MN produced thousands of their "Webway" sign kits that were utilized by merchants, libraries and schools throughout the country. At one point they included in their sales catalog a selection of die-cut images for embellishing sign work. In the late 50s and throughout the 60s, the Joseph Struhl Company (now known as Magic Master Industries) produced cling vinyl sign kits for business, and a home movie titling set for do-it-yourself film makers. This set also featured die-cut embellishments. A generous selection of designs from both kits have been faithfully re-drawn in digital form to pay tribute to two innovative companies. Other fonts based on products from these companies are Sign Kit JNL (Webway® Sign Kit), Cling Vinyl JNL, and Sign Maker JNL (Magic Master® Sign Kits). Zierde is a take on early advertising, small-copy grotesks of the late 19th/early 20th century, and is largely inspired by Miller & Richard’s own range of Grotesques. More importantly, Zierde is accompanied by a large set of ornaments (+200) which hark back to the look-and-feel of the early-modernist arts and crafts movement. The ornaments in, and presentation of, Zierde owe much credit to J.G Schelter & Giesecke’s 1913 type specimen book ‘Die Zierde’. The strong functional uppercase sans-serifs alongside luscious, beautiful patterns in ‘Die Zierde’ make for beautiful combinations. This early-modernist use of grotesk alongside ornament looks bizarre in the eyes of us used to seeing sans-serifs in more formal, sterile settings. The face itself retains some historical flourishes such as the eccentric leaning angle of the italics, the long cross-bar on the ‘G’, the gammy-leg of the ‘R’, a strange ampersand and some irregular terminals across the weights. Zierde is display face meant for headlines, titles, short-copy, labels and logos. It comes in caps and small caps, Latin and Cyrillic.

Delphi grew from a logotype Lily Feinberg produced using Greek-column-inspired letterforms. As that concept expanded to include more and more letters, the typeface had its beginnings. Intertwined, kinetic, and deliberate, Delphi carves itself onto the page and screen, encouraging variation and experimentation. The letterforms’ unique construction and predispostion for experimentation inspired two varying sets: Delphi Dio, comprised of two-line strokes, and Delphi Tria, built of both 2- and 3-line strokes. With a design as elaborate, yet tightly tuned as this, the desire to add more and more was irresistible—you'll see a number of stylistic, swash, and titling alternates (and even more hidden away in further stylistic sets). Because Dio and Tria could only hold so much, alternate cuts were produced to better organize your options: the Delphi Alt fonts feature certain letter styles and stylistic alternate sets distinct from those in Delphi. Delphi’s sophisticated, striking letterforms make it an ideal display face for use at large sizes, and with so many unique details and alternate letterforms, it’s simply fun to use.

Marit Otto about C-Nation: The building typeface. Although the 70ties were very liberating and progressive, still girls played mainly with dolls and sweet things and boys with all kinds of challenging stuff. They did all sorts of basic scientific experiments in mini labs and of course built cool things with Meccano building sets. As a girl I was perfectly happy with the toys I had access to. But at the same time I was very curious about all the adventure toys and discoveries my brother did. It also made me wonder why the grown up people thought that our world could be separated so easily by separating our toys in pink and blue sections. At this day of age Meccano is probably hopelessly old fashioned and far to manual. Children of today are fed by fast images and cool animations on screen, they learn, play, communicate and relax in the same space, the digital space. The special feature of Meccano was that even though it was very basic there was the promise you could create anything. It might even contribute to a logical mind. The typeface I designed refers to the Meccano feel. It is a creative typeface. A bit masculine and bold looking perhaps but after the first impression a subtle and refined female touch is revealed. It has links to architecture and associations with metal constructions like ‘The Eiffel Tower’ and (old railway) bridges. I am convinced that we all think of that as very charming man-made objects.

Quaderno Slanted is a light and monolinear script, accompanied by the heavier weights. This connected script combining elements of the traditional Italian script Bella Scrittura. Quaderno is suited for middle length texts and headlines and evokes both vernacular and commercial lettering of the 20th century and a typeface for school book purposes. You can also overlap them and get a double stroke effect.

Borba is light, fresh and friendly at first glace. It's simple, modern and elegant due to its monoline and minimalistic form. It is really readable which makes it perfect for long texts but it looks great in titles and short sentences as well. To sum up, borba is a universal typeface which may be used whenever you need a stylish and modern typography.

Trump Mediaeval is an Old Face font developed by Georg Trump between 1954 and 1962. All cuts have both normal and old style numbers and their robust characters make them suitable even for inferior paper. Light and legible, the open forms of the lower case letters allow this font to be legible in text with as small a point size as 5.

Churchward Isabella is a five weight typeface family originally designed during the 1980's by the late type designer Joseph Churchward, from New Zealand. A straightforward, geometric sans serif, it is a no-nonsense, highly legible workhorse design, readable on screen as well as in print, for text, headline and display. The family includes Light, Regular, Medium, Bold and Extra Bold.

Spike was designed as a Latin type family, with the characteristic triangular serifs, but with more character and range of weights than the more common latin faces available. Resist Sans is a free-spirited neo-grotesque that embodies both the innate desire for revolt and a tendency towards uniformity. »Supra Mezzo« – designed by Gert Wiescher in 2012/13 – is an unusual addition to the Supra family, a weight in between the normal and the condensed width. This cut comes in very handy if you need to put lots of text into a relatively small space without loosing readability. The compactness with great legibility makes Supra Mezzo absolutely unique. The light and normal weights and the dominant x-height with its high ascenders make for easy reading of long copy. The heavy and x-light weights are great for elegant headlines. Montix is a narrow, constructed type family that developed by the German designer Diana Fischer in 2003. With five weights (light, light italic, regular, regular italic, and bold), Montix is a particularly effective small family, especially when used for headline or display purposes. Montix's letterforms have relatively long ascenders and descenders, which compared with its horizontally compact body gives it its unique style. Words or lines of text set in Montix would look best when some amount of white space is left around them. Because of this, the faces are well suited for logos and corporate identity uses.
