Dragonflight Pro is a script collection of four modern calligraphy fonts. Each glyph was hand-drawn with a brass folded pen dipped in ink. The tip of the folded pen resembles the shape of a dragonfly’s wing, hence the name. By tilting the pen variations in line width are made. This produces fun, expressive letters with a spontaneous personality. The regular and rough version of Dragonflight Pro have alternate glyphs that can either be accessed by the swashes feature, stylistic set 1, or the glyphs panel, depending on the application you are using. There are lots of discretionary ligatures that offer even more variation. By typing _1 to _10 you can access bonus swashes that are part of Dragonflight Pro Regular and Rough. Both fonts have 567 glyphs. Dragonflight Pro Sans is an all caps font with 402 glyphs, also hand-drawn with the folded pen, that compliments the other styles perfectly. Dragonflight Pro Extra offers an additional 117 swashes, doodles and ink splatters. With Discretionary Ligatures activated you can type an underscore in front of a letter and (when available) this gives you the rough version of the glyph.

Mariachi is a new condensed version of our Maison Luxe font which is a revival of an old 1800's classic ornate French font. This new 2021 condensed version takes this old classic to an all new level by adding small caps, italics and a new solid black version. Mariachi is perfect for headlines and logos from advertising to product labels, t-shirt lettering and restaurant menus. Fill fonts are also part of this family, new to this font style is the half fill font for creating a two color effect on the letters, you'll need an application that works in layers to use the fill fonts in Mariachi. Hickory is the revival of an old unnamed font dating back to 1852 and was sold through a few different type foundries including Bruce, MacKellar Smiths & Jordan and James Conner's Sons. By the year 1900 this font disappeared from the major type foundries, now with the digital age of type we're proud to revive this old classic font that hasn't been used in over one hundred years. The original font was only available as an uppercase with punctuation and an ampersand. Today the character set has been updated to include a new lowercase, numbers and accented characters for Eastern, Central and Western European countries. Three fill fonts have been created for the Hickory font making it easier for you to add different colors, textures and patterns to the letters. You will need an application that works in layers such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator in order to use the fill fonts, some fill fonts may look good as a stand alone font, the Hickory fill fonts however do not look good used apart from the Hickory main font. A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane—simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. Tessellation patterns are eye-catching and visually appealing, which is the reason that they have long been popular in a variety of decorative situations. These Tessie fonts have two family members, a solid style that must have different colors when used and an outline style. They can be used separately or they can be used in layers with the outline style on top of the solid style. For rows to align properly, leading must be the same as point size. The birth of the monospaced types dates back to the past. There was a need for the creation of typesets for typewriters. The difficulty was to align the different glyphs in the same width. This led to particular problems with letters like “M” and “l”; the former seemed to be squeezed into the same width of all letters and the second one appeared way too streched. Despite – or perhaps because of – the impression of the typewriter is still popular with Graphic Designers. Nowadays there are even monospaced versions of primarily proportional types; for example the the Sans Mono designed by Lucas de Groot or the DIN Mono. Then again, why not the other way round?! In the first half of the Nineties, Erik Spiekermann developed a proportional type named ITC Officina based on the Letter Gothic. According to a survey on the 100 best fonts of all time conducted by FontShop, ITC Officina is in an eighth place, far ahead of its forerunner. This was the reason for me to create a wider design with a Serif and a Sans Serif based on the queen of all monospaced types – the Courier.

Tsotsi, a recent addition to the Scholtz Fonts range, is highly legible, strong, African and contemporary in design. It is a sans serif font, however, the gently splayed terminals to the strokes subtly hint at a serif. It has been designed to be easy on the eye and readable at all font sizes and can be used either as a body (text) font or in headings and larger scale design. The font has an irreverent insouciance which is suggested by the verticals which all vary from true perpendicular by a few degrees, and by the slightly top-heavy nature of all characters - hence the name "Tsotsi" -- a rascal who is very sure of himself (and a little big-headed). Above all, however, the Tsotsi (both the font and the person) has an appealingly cheeky and mischievous style. It includes characters for English, French, Italian, German, and Portugese. all upper and lower case letters, all special characters as well as all numerals and punctuation. The numerals are mono-spaced so that they will line up correctly in columns of figures. The letters of the alphabet are correctly kerned so that they appear correctly in text.

A three-dimensional all-cap font for title use, Thorowgood Sans Shaded was released by the Fann Street Foundry of W. Thorowgood & Co. in 1839. Interestingly, it more closely resembles Figgins' Four-Line Emerald Sans-Serif Shaded of 1833 than Fann Street’s own Grotesque Shaded of 1834 (with light and shadow reversed). The idea of a shaded font is of an outline font whose letters have each been extruded through a die and then viewed from the lower right to reveal the third dimension. That third dimension has also been referred to as a shadow. Vincent Figgins' 1815-release of a shaded serif typeface was the first known of many shaded faces, as the other foundries rushed to bring out their own versions. Thorowgood Sans Shaded may be gainfully used today as a eye-catching headline font, just as it was so popularly used in the early nineteenth century. To assist with the usual all-cap letter-spacing problem, the following pre-kerned pairs are included: AT, AV, AW and AY. Milton Glaser’s Kitchen Typeface from the mid 1970s exemplifies the bold 3-D art deco revival genre that was a trademark of the Glaser style. This typeface resulted from his involvement in the design of the The Big Kitchen in the World Trade Center’s concourse in New York City. The new P22 Glaser Kitchen takes on the technical challenge of overlapping 3-D shadows by offering two styles. P22 Glaser Kitchen Regular is spaced out so that the shadows do not overlap the white spaces of the neighboring letters. Whereas the P22 Glaser Kitchen 3D Fill and 3D Shadow can be used layered on top of one another to achieve the tight spacing intended by Glaser. P22 Glaser Kitchen was based on original drawings and phototype proofs from the Milton Glaser Studios archives. Typographic punctuation and sorts were imagined by James Grieshaber to work with Glaser’s design, as well as diacritics to accommodate most European languages. Over the years there have been many typefaces that borrowed heavily from the Glaser designs, but these are the only official fonts approved by Milton Glaser Studio and the Estate of Milton Glaser.

Roughmarker font consists of two handwritten scripts, a slant (regular) version and upright. This Script fonts are manually handwritten with quick and rough strokes. We write them on paper until we find a very proportioned form. Then we scanned and took the selected glyphs to be processed into a font. The biggest challenge in making textures fonts are the very many node points, many node points make the font processing performance a bit slow. At first we tried raising the node parameters to 2000-4000 points in one glyph. This is a big number, but if this number is lowered it will eliminate the impression of brush and natural look. We repeatedly look for gaps to minimize points so that the font capacity is not too large and comfortable when typed. This script font is equipped with ligature as well as several alternate according to handwriting habits, very effective in the sense of not too much but often used. This font is the great choice for contemporary brands, especially for businesses in fashion, urban style, websites, trends in architecture, cosmetics, and energetic lifestyle themes. In the collection of vintage and historic images available online from the Library of Congress is one of the exterior of the Town Talk Diner in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Regrettably, on May 28, 2020, the Town Talk Diner was damaged by vandalism, and subsequently destroyed by a fire that engulfed the building early on the morning of May 29th due to civil unrest following the death of George Floyd. The restaurant first opened in 1946, closed in 2011 and subsequently re-opened under new ownership in 2014 with French cuisine, then from 2016 until its demise as an American bistro. While this was not known at the time of selecting the image for a typographic model, subsequent research on the diner turned up these facts. The large vintage sign above the entrance was in big, bold Art Deco letters with rows and rows of bulbs for illuminating the name at night. Coffee and Danish JNL, modeled from the image of that sign, is available in both regular and oblique versions. Perhaps, in a way, the type design will serve as a bit of historic recognition for a popular eating spot.

The font family features the characteristic details peculiar to Dutch serifs—these are the asymmetrical shape of serifs and an irregular slant of ovals. For example, in the letter “o” there is no slant, but it is present in p-q. In TT Jenevers, both lowercase and uppercase characters are of a large size, which makes it a rather display typeface. Sydonia Atramentiqua is a strange creation. The inspiration was the first releases of "Malleus Maleficarum" (actually the typography used there). I decided I wanted something strange, so Sydonia came into being. Like a blood of all witches who were being hunted down by Malleus Maleficarum's "fans" for their skills and beliefs. Why Sydonia? Sydonia von Borck was a witch from my area. It was probably the last woman executed for witchcraft. The genesis of the name. Sydonia was THE WITCH, and by the name I added "Atramentiqua". It is a combination of the words "Ink" (polish "ATRAMENT") + "Antiqua". The idea of ​​spilling a font is historical. The former Zecer composition was not perfectly sharp. As it was a "wet job", there were always light exits behind the lines. Who supported me? The GENEALOGIA project has been carried out for several years in cooperation with the Academy of Art in Szczecin and the National Museum in Szczecin. The project's supervisors are prof. Waldemar Wojciechowski and MA Patrycja Makarewicz, who runs the Visual Communication Studio. Some information: Sydonia was like that! This is not an everyday font. It is a stylized font, used to imitate old prints made by Zecer. The first version of Sydonia Atramentiqua was created in 2018 for the purposes of the exhibition at the National Museum in Szczecin.
