Grotesk Polski FA developed in 1998-2006, was inspired by the Polish eminent pre-WWII text typeface - Antykwa Półtawskiego. Adam Półtawski designing his antiqua had took into consideration the special qualities of Polish language. He designed unique letters: k, w, y, z and R, K, Y. Another unique element of his typeface was polygonal dot. Grotesk Polski keeps all that shapes and goes further. It is a contemporary sans serif in four cuts: Regular, Italic, Bold and Stencil. The proportions of the typeface were rebalanced to give it a neo-grotesque form with a Polish twist.

Lucifer Sans is a modern sans serif font rooted in Scandinavian geometry and minimalism, mixed with a healthy dose of black metal and irreverent attitude. This is my roughly handprinted typewrite-ish font. It has all the cool and classic moves of the traditional typewriter look, but with a more rough attitude due to the contextual alternates (which offer 6 different versions of each letter!)

Most fonts include uppercase and lowercase letters. Some experimentally-minded designers have proposed unicase typefaces as well: rather than having two different forms for a given letter, unicase fonts have one, chosen from the upper- or lowercase forms. Ambicase Modern takes the next step, offering not "either/or", but rather "both/and". Scan is literally a barcode font, made of actual barcodes, shaped in De Stijl style. It is a monospace, all-caps font with two different barcodes per letter. K-Block was inspired by a hand-lettered sign by a young lady by the name of Kristina Lee. It captures a light-hearted, youthful feeling and is not intended to be taken too seriously. It was drawn for fun and is fun to use. Its very inconsistency insists on being casual and relaxed. Probably better for a birthday party announcement than a bank letterhead. Can you imagine a Just-For-Fun National Bank? K-Block Solid compliments K-Block and provides a stronger presence when required. For two-color work, K-Block can be layered on top of K-Block Solid to provide a different color outline for a very effective presentation. Full Western European character set plus alternate g and y, as well as a Th ligature. If you have a drawing program like Corel Draw, you can easily convert the alternate g and y to curves and stretch out the tails to underline an entire word. Yngreena is a serifed typeface with calligraphic origins. In updating it in 2011, I began to add alternative letters and reached the point where it made sense to create an alternative family of faces rather than include all the alternatives as part of an OpenType font. The letters K, R, V, W, Y, f, g, k, t, v, and w are tamer in Yngreena Alt. As a result, though it is still a decorative text face, Yngreena Alt is better suited for lengthier blocks of text than is the original Yngreena face.

Chico was by designed by Javier Mariscal and Josema Urós specifically for the final roll of credits in the animated film Chico y Rita. The goal was to design a typeface with a good readability but that conveyed a strong script character and, in some way, tuned to the style of line used throughout the film. Using a modular sans-serif as a template, Javier Mariscal reinterpreted the forms freely, while maintaining gridlike proportions. Chico can be useful for comic-book lettering, editorial work and display applications.

Zamenhof is a family of five fonts that can be used singly or in combination to create a variety of bold, yet elegant, display styles. Inspired by Russian hand-lettering that appears to have been based on Jakob Erbar’s Phosphor, Zamenhof is essentially a Latin interpretation (with Cyrillic and Greek) of a Cyrillic interpretation of a Latin type design, with many changes along the way. (For example, all the Latin-only letters are quite different between the two designs: D, F, G, J, K, N, Q, R, S, U, V, W, Y, Z.) The Inline and Inverse styles of Zamenhof are the basic fonts and can be used effectively on their own. The Plain and Outline fonts — which I recommend using only in combination with the main designs — were created specifically to be combined with Inline and Inverse, as underlay and overlay layers, respectively. (You will need an application that supports layers, such as Adobe InDesign or Photoshop.) Zamenhof supports most European languages as well as modern Greek, and of course, Russian and other languages that use the Cyrillic alphabet. Needless to say, as Zamenhof is named after the father of Esperanto, it also supports Esperanto (as do all fonts from CastleType).

Advertising Gothic is based on a style of fonts from the 1920s which was commonly used in advertising and poster design. The style is clearly influenced by the Art Deco movement. It combines deco style decorated initials with dramatic capital letters. The font comes in two different versions. Advertising Gothic Plain features initials which do not have the deco decorations and less fancy letter forms. Advertising Gothic Deo features deco embellishments on the initials and more elaborate versions of the main letter forms.

This is a large group of typefaces inspired by those borders and patterns you see going across documents from the Middle Ages and Medieval times, eventually becoming this collection of fonts where you can scroll various repeating patterns across a page, for example. You can get a repeating pattern that scrolls seamlessly by repeating the same letter. The default text displaying on the web-page is bbbbbbbb, for example. There's over 2 dozen basic styles, and each style has 52 designs within it, using the characters Upper Case A - Z and lower case a - z, with the lower case being the negative/reverse colour of the Upper Case version, it will be the corresponding design just reverse coloured and with an edging strip. There's also a space - but nothing else. The styles in these fonts usually have groups of six characters (A to F, G to L, M to R, S to X), and where the second group is a variation on the first - usually thicker lines - and the third grouping is another variation on that, usually thicker lines again, making the first 24 letters. (Sometimes there's three groups of eight characters). The pattern within a group normally starts off plain then gets busier as it progresses - such as there'd be a more complex pattern of circles and diamonds as you go through the letters. Then the letters Y & Z are somewhat different to the rest. There's four versions starting with Z, and they're a little bit different, and they're grouped in fives - getting bolder as you progress through the letters, but with similar patterns within each group of 5, and that makes the first 25 characters. The letter Z character is extra busy. Again, lower case is the reverse colour of the Upper Case. Mostly you can get patterns and borders that combine seamlessly by using letters within the same group of 6 or 8 (like maybe abdcedcb). There are a few occasions when that doesn't work out, because there may be circles or diamonds at the sides of the letters that don't match up with another letter that has a different pattern at the side. But you can create a pattern with the exact level of complexity you want perfectly easily. You can see examples of this in the poster images. Neighbouring letters without embellishments at the sides of the letters will usually fit together. Have fun with it, that's what it's there for. aah yes fonts

FunCity is a family of typefaces designed for multi-layered use. There are six levels of letter thickness from thin to extremely bold and all styles of the family represent basically a different variations of the same letterforms. As the same letters in every typeface in this family use the same amount of space, it creates a possibility of overlaying and using more than one style simultaneously, which lead to almost endless variations.

"Whimsy Comic" is a display font featuring charming and playful characters. This font exudes a sense of cheerfulness and lightheartedness. It offers four styles: regular solid, regular shadow, italic solid, and italic shadow. These variations allow you to experiment with different looks for your designs.

Brandon Printed is based on the famous Brandon Grotesque typeface. It has an eroded, printed look with variations of every letter by using different styles. With several different styles like a shadowed version, an inline version and a double printed version you can create a lot of lovely combinations. The Brandon Printed package also contains a set with 95 Extras like arrows, catchwords, stars, emblems numbers & lines. Brandon Printed has a high level of detail, so it may process more slowly in some applications.

Primrose Gardens is a lovely, loopy all caps font. Mix and match loopy capitals with plain jane lowercase letters for a whimsical vibe. The loopy alternates are coded as uppercase letters for ease of use. Hit shift on b, e, k, m, r, w, and y for a loopy alternate. Includes characters for Western European languages.

Gjallarhorn is based on uncial-style lettering by artist Willy Pogany from his titles for Padraig Colum's classic collection of Scandinavian myths, The Children of Odin. It has various peculiar letter forms, and the font includes two or more different versions of many of the characters. An excellent example of stylized hand lettering by one of the great decorative artists of the Art Nouveau period.

Mastadoni is a bold headliner/masthead typeface, with high vertical contrast in a Didone style. That's the starting point at least. There's much more to this font than another modern clone. It is a specialized (only one weight) typeface that comes in five optical grades. Use G1 at very large sizes and G5 at smaller sizes. The grades can be combined so that the thins of type set at different point sizes appear the same thickness - a very useful feature for magazine layouts. Optical grades could also be used in circumstances where a logo needs to be size-specific; the text on your bistro sign can afford to be more delicate than that on your coffee cups. This is a typeface with a big x-height, small cap-height and stubby ascenders and descenders, which contribute to an overall appearance somewhat different from must Didones, and make for some interesting layout possibilities in tight spaces. Mastadoni features a number of useful OpenType features. All fonts include standard ligatures and automatic fractions. In the discretionary ligature feature, you'll find the esoteric "percent off" glyph. Just type '%ff' with dlig engaged and there it is! Case-sensitive forms are available in all the fonts. The contextual alternates feature performs a subtle trick that resolves an optical illusion whereby two ascenders next to each other appear to be different heights. The Roman and Italic styles have a different group of stylistic sets as follows: Roman: SS01 substitutes a less decorative 4; SS02 is a different eszett; SS03 substitues the # with an attractive numero glyph; and SS04 gives an alternate K. Italic: SS01 and SS03 are the same as in the Romans; SS02 gives you more bulbous variants of v, w, and y letters; SS04 is a single storey g; SS05 changes C, G and S to non-ball-terminal varieties; and SS06 changes the swash versions of E, L, N and Q (when the swash feature is engaged). Speaking of the swash feature, the italic fonts feature swash capitals from A to Z, and swash variations for lower case h k m n v w and z. Lastly, the discretionary ligature feature in the italic fonts has vi, wi, KA and RA ligatures. Mastadoni is a typeface that would find itself immediately at home in glossy magazines, while offering a different aesthetic palette from the more standard choices of Didones.

Monocto is an upright italic, clearly evidenced by the lowercase letters a, e, f, g, i, k, l, v, w, x, y and several capitals. On one hand, the design is inspired by an historical German running hand written with a pen angle of 45°, and on the other, by rational, utilitarian monospace types, similar to those designed for the mechanical typewriter during the Industrial Revolution. As the writing tool touches the paper, a double-square with broken corners is produced, which then, according to ductus, transforms itself into letter components that are either 90°-verticals or 45°-diagonals.
