Prêt-à-porter is a project developed as part of a series of type experiments appearing on the blog ‘Letritas’. Prêt-à-porter is a very expressive friendly font with a handwritten look, smooth curves and strong identity. Its counterforms make it a carefree, wild, cheerful, light and highly readable typeface. This type system consists of two Script families—Contrast and Linear—and a Slab family. The Contrast set works as a complement, providing more elegance and formal refinement. Both Linear and Contrast come in 5 weights plus Ornaments, which can be used as initial and terminal forms since they have been designed for connecting with each letter. Linear and Contrast families include ligatures and the whole font family supports 208 different languages.

SomaSkript is a natural extension to the basic Somatype font design, adding more variety to the family, all of which have similar features. Basically, by widening the uprights and maintaining the thin cross-bars it takes on more of a script-like quality, hence the name. Slanting the letters reinforces the script illusion and consequently brings a broader application to the font’s original format. When designing the Somatype alphabet originally, I always envisaged maximizing on its potential by creating an incised version. This variation not only emphasizes the implied script qualities within the name but brings out the softer, feminine side of the typeface. This evolutionary process creates a different looking font altogether and in turn the slanted version emphasizes the elegant quality even more so.

This set of initial letters is an entirely original creation, inspired by French renaissance patterns used by Bordeaux printers circa 1580-1590. It contains two roman alphabets : the first of decorated letters, the second of single large capitals, all with Garamond style, and a few fleurons using the same background pattern style. Both containing Thorn, Eth, L slash and O slash. It can be used as variously as website titles, posters and flyers design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, as a very decorative, elegant and luxurious additional font... The idea behind the font called Chaco originated after testing the deficiency shown in road signs in Latin America. The design began after a long documenting period. Throughout the various stages of the work,  there were several  tests and checks  conducted of the formal solutions implemented which, based on the results, would gradually be changed until we finally reached, in this way, its definite design. The original project for the font features three steps, namely: regular, light and bold, yet by making progress in the development, it was possible for us to perceive that by enlarging the black and thin variances, the family with 5 different weights could offer very good results in mass media, such as newspapers, magazines and television. In order to expand its possibilities of utilization, the set was completed with italics and small capitals.

Designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli, Kabrio is a sans serif typeface for the lovers of minimal design, and great curves. Kabrio features four different corner treatments to offer variation in display and logo use: the "alternate" variant features slightly rounded corners, that become even more round in the "soft" variant. Straits is an oddball fun ALL-CAPS font, a modern take / re-imagining of some old Art Deco signage and a sister to my other font Penang. The font is available in 2 weights for now, a light and a medium. In general I think ALL-CAPS steal 26 characters from you, so each letter in each case is a little different, however subtly. This being an ALL-CAPS font I imagine it will work best in Headlines and other bold statements, but buy it and find out. The font is loaded with plenty of extras and glyphs. Normal and upright italic script fonts line a well-trodden path; left-leaning fonts (or "rightalics" as they're confusingly called), on the other hand, are a rarity. Here at Eclectotype Fonts we don't like to do things too conventionally, so here's Backstroke, a laid back script with a unique voice. With contextual alternates for start and end forms of certain characters, swash versions of L, Q and Z (surely the most used initial caps!), and a handful of stylistic sets, Backstroke is a restrained script. Grandecort is derived from the OakPark family. It has lost the serifs, and has moved to a more traditional look. The upper case letters are a bit heavier than the lower case letters, but overall the letter shapes are fairly conventional for a bold, display face. In later 2018 the family was expanded to 9 fonts. GrancMitStripes was reworked to make four new faces: GrancAllStripes, GrancTopStripes, GrancBottomStripes, and GrancCaps. The last can be used as a background layer for the others. Also, The interior of GrandecortShadow was separated out to form GrandecortShadowInside. It has the same shapes as Grandecort-Regular but the spacing of GrandecortShadow and can be layered with the shadowed style to easily create bi-colored letters.
