Vinque is an interpretation of a nineteenth century Arts & Crafts revival of medieval lettering. British type designer William Morris completed Troy in 1891—a splendid blackletter typeface in the medieval style. It’s beautiful but some modern uses like UI and video game text require a less ornate gothic appearance. Vinque is simple. It avoids strong vertical blackletter strokes which can present problems for contemporary readers. The end result is an uncomplicated, crisp typeface that successfully conveys medievalness to the reader. Vinque was released in 2002 in one style: Regular. In 2019, Vinque was expanded to seven weights and italics. Language support was bolstered to support most current Latin based languages as well as Greek and Cyrillic. OpenType fractions, f-ligatures and old-style numerals are supported.

Grungy Old Typewriter is based on two typed letters, each on two pages and dated 1901. The results are eroded, rough, irregular and grungy. The final results are a vintage look. As a designer, I wanted as much flexibility as possible, so there are six versions that are designed to work together. Additionally, I decided to keep the grunge and irregularities within the shape and not include surrounding typewriter or paper marks. I leave it to the design to add those elements as desired. One note, the letter spacing is much tighter than an old typewriter. I felt that readability for modern readers suffered from the added space. Of course, you can get that same look by increasing the letter spacing in your favorite design program.

Monocto is an upright italic, clearly evidenced by the lowercase letters a, e, f, g, i, k, l, v, w, x, y and several capitals. On one hand, the design is inspired by an historical German running hand written with a pen angle of 45°, and on the other, by rational, utilitarian monospace types, similar to those designed for the mechanical typewriter during the Industrial Revolution. Diverda Serif is a contemporary typeface that is free from ornament. Created by Swiss designer Daniel Lanz, Diverda Serif is optimized for maximum legibility. In contrast to many other modern typefaces, which try to squeeze the traditional rounder forms of the alphabet into square designs, and which often attempt to equalize the widths of the capital letters, Diverda Serif remains true to the proper proportions of the Roman alphabet. The x-heights of Diverda Serif's characters are low, and the differences between curved, square, and triangular elements are very clear. Like the more calligraphic typefaces of the past, Diverda Serif's strokes exhibit contrast that is inspired by movements of the pen on paper; down strokes are heavier than up strokes. Possible applications for the Diverda Serif include magazine design, as well as advertising for fashion, design, or architectural products. Diverda Serif is also a good fit for Corporate Identity solutions.

Fondue: an eclectic-flavoured contemporary typeface. Designed by Jorge Alberto Martínez and Latinotype Team. Fondue is a type family of eclectic shapes, inspired by Art Deco designs, in particular, the lettering used by the Mexican cartoonist Ernesto “El Chango” Cabral on almost the entire publication Revista de Revistas ("Magazine of Magazines"). Far from being a copy, Fondue expects to be an adaptation of the thinking of that time to be used in contemporary context. Fondue has a cursive ductus, wide horizontal proportion and large x-height. Its friendly consistent rhythm makes it ideal for medium-sized text, headlines, branding, and so on. The family comes in 6 weights, from Thin, which reminds of the cartoonist’s loose strokes, to Ultra Bold, the version with powerful and unique voice. Fondue has a set of 496 characters that support 207 different languages.. OpenType features include standard and discretionary ligatures as well as stylistic alternates.

Sabotage is inspired by the iconic Vertigo movie poster by Saul Bass. It is a bold all-caps font that fits a wide range of eye-catching design projects surprisingly well. Check it out! Sabotage offers two versions for each letter, stored in upper- and lower-case slots. When turned on, its contextual alternates feature will instantly alternate these glyphs, preventing double letters from displaying the same letterform while boosting the nice handlettered feel of the typeface. Rabenau (formerly Lucinde), the distinctly warm and legible type family For 30 years the graphic designer Axel Bertram worked at creating his typefaces: He developed complete new alphabets for magazines and typewriters as well as for the constant demand for typefaces for use by commercial artists. He has developed wall charts the size of advertising posters as teaching aids for training commercial and graphic artists to write in a clean, classic cursive script. In the eighties he used the American Chyron computer to design a screen font for television. In the mid-nineties he discovered for himself the fabulous possibilities offered by the Fontographer font software program and explored them playfully. From the results of these experiments, Axel Bertram selected a design for further development. From 2003 onwards the calligrapher and type designer Andreas Frohloff collaborated with him on the further development and production of the 16 fonts of the Rabenau™ typeface family.The Rabenau font was inspired by many factors: From the fonts used as book covers to typewriter fonts and even printed material from England dating from the beginning of the nineteenth century (e.g. those used by the skilled printer William Bulmer), Rabenau's relatively high contrast is offset by some organic tapers, subtley rounded bracketed serifs, and a fairly generous x-height. This makes for a typeface that looks especially good in print. Its broad repertoire of weights and styles - Condensed, Poster, and Shadow - give it added versatility, and make it ideal for setting both display and text in the same typeface. Throughout the heavier weights, the contrast is maintained. The Poster Italic sparkles, and will make a fine display type for dynamic headlines, or logotypes. Monotype’s hot metal Bell series from 1931 was based on original types made by the punchcutter Richard Austin for the foundry of John Bell in the 1780s. The different sizes of Monotype’s series were not all based on the same model. As type historian James Mosley wrote on Typophile, “For 18 point and above (the metal type was cut in sizes up to 36 point) Monotype’s model was a larger type [than the model used for the text sizes], the ‘Great Primer’ cut by Austin. This has greater contrast in the capitals and a flat foot to letter a.” The digital Bell closely follows the design of the hot metal 18pt version, and is therefore somewhat lighter in color than the text sizes of Monotype’s original metal face. Nauman Neue is a modern humanist sans serif typeface made for the screen.
