In many aspects, built in a traditional way. Still, some modern details have been implemented which classic designs sometimes lack. The prime goal was to make a strong text font for books and longer texts in general. This fact does not exclude the possibilites for use elsewhere. Throughout history existing designs have often been the source of inspiration for newer ones. Delicato is no exception and looking closely, similarities can be found in the lowercase of Jeremy Tankard’s Enigma and the stems of Petr van Blokland’s Proforma. The goal is to respect these sources and turn the the typeface into something new with a unique and personal touch. Most text faces carry a basic set of weights like Regular, Italic, Bold and Small Caps. MRF wanted to expand that a little bit further and added a Medium, Alternates and a set of Ornaments to make the family complete and versatile.

Fulgora is a sort of ‘calligraphic typography’ or ‘typographic calligraphy’, depending on the point of view. Inspired by late-medieval Bâtarde and Civilité blackletter styles, the Kannada and Sinhala writing systems from Southern India, Celtic uncials, and diverse vernacular Mexican scripts, Fulgora was created straight from pen on paper as a personal calligraphic style where fantasy in the chief ingredient. The idea to take it to the digital realm came later, as an extension of the creative process. To this end, originals for each character were made, directly traced with the nib with no retouching, then vectorized to be digitally assembled. Work has been done on spacing and kerning with the aim to digitally reproduce an utterly calligraphic outcome keeping the natural, imperfect, manual finish of all signs. On the one hand Chateau is almost palatial but at the same time it has a quite earthy personality as represented by the stenciled strokes. However, this stencil effect serves to refine the strokes by creating the illusion of a completed thin stroke. Chateau is more of a hybrid roundhand script with its contrasting ornate capitals. Originally a fortified residence in France was called a Chateau. Today there are many estates with true Chateaux on them in Bordeaux, but it is customary for any wine-producing estate, no matter how humble, to prefix its name with "Chateau". This is true whether the building itself is a magnificent palace or a shack. The distinctive chateau architecture was in inspiration for the name of this script. Calluna was born more or less by accident. When I needed a little break from designing Museo I was just fiddling around a bit to see if maybe a full slab serif would be something to have a look at. The first thing I did, of course, was to put slab serifs on the stems of Museo. When I did, something nice happened. Slab-serifs with a direction! I ended up using the idea for something I always wanted to do: making a rather serious text face. The goal was to make a text font, but one with enough interesting details. In the end it all came down to finding the balance in a typeface between the robustness needed to function as a text face and enough refinement to look good as a display font. Frederic W. Goudy designed three weights of this friendly-looking sans serif font from 1922-1929 for Lanston Monotype in the United States. In 1864, a new edition of ‘Labèrnia dictionary’ was published. The book is commonly known under this name as a homage to the author. The typeface used in this publication has been taken as the main reference for the design of a new type family. Labernia is a didone design that includes several variations in width, weight, and contrast. Labernia is a stylish typeface, which pushes its design features to the limit. The high-contrast strokes—seen in most modern typefaces—give a delicate softness to the titling cuts of Labernia.
