Minimal, modular, modern—at first glance, Materia shows a contemporary flair, combining pure, strong geometrical form with a subtle, distinct appearance. Actually, the design was inspired by lettering from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century that still can be found in the East of France. While its formal origins date back as far as this, revived e. g. by the constructivists into the nineteen twenties and later on by Dutch information designer Wim Crouwel in the nineteen-sixties, the visual language of Materia still speaks of the »future«. Following a minimalistic concept the font is formally built on a grid. Wherever optical curves are needed for a smoother, more comfortable shape of letters than a simple rectangular block, diagonals cut off the egdes – like a diamond is cut to achieve more beauty. Thus headlines and texts set in Materia are given a certain »egdy« feeling, whereas their tonality is still kept well-balanced, keeping concentation all on information in a nonconfomist way. Materia comes in eight styles, from elegant Thin to attention-forcing Ultra. Even a regular Italic is available, following the classic type-set-principle. Two of the styles are explicitly designed for display use, Shadow and Code. Both are ready for combinations with Bold or each other respectively, the layering of Shadow and Code e. g. allows astonishing effects or highlighting within the letters. For OpenType-users Materia is a real Pro, containing accented Latin letters for over 70 languages, small caps, old style, tabular and lining figures and special condensed titling all caps for cases in which space is all that counts. How useful all of the above mentioned is may be seen in the book David Lynch – Lithos, designed by Koma Amok, published in 2010 by item éditions, Paris, and Hatje Cantz, Germany, which was typeset completely in Materia.

Deck is a font inspired by old decks of playing cards and even some old tarot decks. Deck is an all caps font; the lower case letters and the punctuation are actually different playing card and tarot symbols like: hearts, diamonds, spaces, clubs. This font is great for designing your own deck of cards.

My beautiful mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2011. Our family's resolution was to love my mom through this time- to stay by her side and remind her each day that she is not alone and that she is loved as she walks this difficult road. This font was made in her honor.

Keep up that great western tradition with Buckle Bold! Buckle was created to be a contemporary twist to old "cowboy" fonts. It is bold while retaining a narrow width. When reduced down, it has a slightly worn look caused by the reduced double diamonds inside the capitals - which does not look out of place at all.

Dottie is based on a matrix of dots. It was inspired by the output of old, cheap, dot-matrix printers. In addition to Dottie-Regular with round dots, the family group includes DottieDiamond with diamond dots, DottieSquareTwo with square dots that do not overlap, and DottieSquare with square dots that overlap to create horizontal and vertical bars.

Norma was my second sans serif. You can find a few details in common with Dialog, but the graphic impression of Norma is totally different.Every typeface has some characters that are the favourites. In Norma I simply love the lowercase roman a. Don't you, too, think that it is perfection itself? Norma was released in 1994.

Baldione is a highly stylised variation upon a classic Didone typeface, incorporating a globular decorative 'ball' or 'blob' in each character's design. The result has a feel of the 1970s about it somehow and works well in poster and advertising designs with a hint of the outré' about them. Cryptic is a font family of caps and small caps whose unique design was inspired by Morse Code. The traditional dots and dashes have been re-imagined as diamonds that you can read from top to bottom on the letters themselves. Secret code hidden within the letters, hence - Cryptic. This font family is truly versatile! The letters are all based on the character shapes of the Naked style, and all the diamonds have the same proportions, so you can stack and layer as many as you like to create a custom look for any project. Cryptic is perfect for website headers, posters, t-shirts, billboards, book covers, SVG cutting files, and anything else you want to add a little mystery, intrigue, or glitz to. Please note that some styles are better suited for larger scale projects to show off the fine details.

Acton is a deceptively simple, grid-based design. Though derived from a 2 by 3 arrangement of blocks, it uses white spaces to allow for more complex shapes – for example as the R – where the underlying 3 by 5 arrangement is apparent. It also departs from this strict grid-based logic for characters such as the the T, L, f and r, whose cross-bars are shorter than they would otherwise be in order to promote optical evenness. No elegant solution could be found for the V, which in geometric fonts can appear very similar to the U, lacking as it does the cross-bar that can differentiate a square A from the capital form of the n. However, the resultant diagonal retroactively proved useful on the lower-case e and a, characters that otherwise would have more uninteresting design solutions.

IronType (formerly known as Ironman) is an extra bold geometric titling face in the Art Deco poster tradition. A warm sense of strength and playfulness runs throughout this design. Triangular-shaped crossbars are some of its distinguishing characteristics. The face also contains some very amusing alternates. The tails of the alternate cap K and R extend below the line and the alternate cap N has a hump instead of a diagonal stroke. A handy set of lowercase letters with lining and smaller figures are also included. IronType Extra Bold is now available in the OpenType Std format. Some new characters have been added to this OpenType version. These advanced features work in current versions of Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Creative Suite Illustrator, and Quark XPress. Check for OpenType advanced feature support in other applications as it gradually becomes available with upgrades.

A smooth contemplative Antiqua with aspiring to the sky ascenders, inspired by the Quietism philosophy. Clarity of the mind is achieved by bringing the body into a state of calm and contemplation, and this is reflected in the design – the quiet horizontal serifs (body) are opposed to the peaky soaring ascenders (mind). When designing AM Sans One, it was a great challenge for me to develop a modern sans serif, which despite the large number of existing fonts in this sector has its own unique character. Starting point for the design concept was the cap O, designed as a rectangle with rounded corners, and not as usual as a circle or oval. The O should form the basis for the whole alphabet. Another feature are the characters with oblique starting and end strokes such as "A, V, W". These have not exactly straight, diagonal lines, but have a slight curvature. Thus, these letters do not look too geometric. Also the cap K deviates slightly from the usual shape which makes AM Sans One different from other already existing fonts. I could well imagine applying this font for areas such as engineering or architecture.

The Miramonte™ Pro Family was designed by Steve Matteson in 2006 as a friendly sans serif design suitable for user-interface design, corporate branding and publishing. The name means 'behold the mountains' in Spanish, suggesting the rustic, unrefined type design. Miramonte™ Pro Family is based on Stanislav Marso's humanist sans serif released by Graphotechna in 1960. This revival includes a cursive style italic rather than a sloped roman. 🏆 Selected for the 12th Biennial of Brazilian Graphic Design. Graviola Soft is a juicy type family. It is based on our Graviola typeface, but we didn’t just round its corners. We redrew every stem and terminal so they would look just right. Combined with curved diagonal strokes and alternate glyphs, Graviola Soft makes for a super friendly typeface. The family consists of 16 fonts, from Thin to Black and matching italics. While the intermediate ones work for body text, the extreme weights look specially beautiful at display sizes. Each font contains 530+ glyphs, supporting more than 90 languages. Stylistic sets provide alternates in two groupings (a, v, w, y and G, g, &). We think Graviola Soft works best on packaging, logotypes and headlines, but we’re eager to see what else you can do with it.

Slinky Chic, svelte and slinky, FS Sophie was inspired by and designed in partnership with ATTIK UK. With clean lines, simple, elegant curves and dynamic forms, it brings a feminine sophistication to text and headlines in publishing and advertising. Kinky FS Sophie’s engaging simplicity arises from its construction, using a modular set of core, rounded shapes and straight strokes, drawn and then repeated to create letterforms. An extra technical detail of occasional, short 45-degree diagonals adds a distinctive little kink to Sophie’s cool exterior. Alchemy By some kind of typographic alchemy, the combination of simple curves and lines with unexpected twists to the shapes of characters creates an unusually spirited and lively design in all three weights and their italic sets. Born for the spotlight, FS Sophie is a natural for big headlines, pull quotes and other high-profile text elements.

Notaris ('Notary' in Dutch) is a hand-drawn, all caps didone-style typeface. It is a little rough, a little uneven, but lively and elegant as well. Comes with an abundance of diacritics and, lo and behold, some end-ligatures as well.

Jambo ('hello' in Swahili) is a cute and bouncy typeface. I guess you can say that it is didone-ish in nature, but comic would also be an apt description. Jambo has generous curves, swirls and curls and comes with a jumbo amount of diacritics.

An old brass stencil of the word 'large' was spotted for sale in an online auction. What set it apart from many other vintage stencil items was the beautiful, hand-punched Western letters with a diamond-shape center. Those five letters served as the basis for Old Chisholm JNL, which retains the look and hand-made charm of the original metal stencil.

The design of Gondolieri has its origins in an experiment to combine aspects of Didone and Tuscan typefaces. The result has a continental 'Italianate' feel. If you wonder what lies behind the name, just look at the lower case 'f'...definite overtones of a Venetian Gondola here, and throughout the design. Gondolieri is offered in regular and bold weights, as well as a simplified form for smaller text use. All of these are available in three widths. Mountain is a digital revival and extension of Teutonia, an old metal typeface released by the Roos & Junge type foundry (Offenbach am Main, Germany) in 1902. Teutonia’s design was popular during both the Art Nouveau and the Constructivist eras, where similar letterforms could be seen as far away as the Soviet Union. Although it slipped under the radar during the 1930s and 40s, this style feels extremely contemporary today. Mountain’s underlying geometric feeling is reminiscent of pixels and grids, suiting it for application with music and art, as well as history. Yet this typeface is not as static as it seems at first glance; playful diagonals—like those seen on the capitals D, L, P, and W—enliven the otherwise stern horizontal and vertical motion. Teutonia was a simple upper and lowercase display type. Mountain adds upon these by adding small caps and obliqued italic companions, rounding out this typographic toolkit.
