Metropolis Bold was commissioned by Publish magazine for their 1990 redesign. Although other digital versions exist, I think this was the first one and is characterized by extremely pointy serifs. It is well to remember in laying out copy for Metropolis to allow plenty of white space in the layout. Metropolis is based on the 1932 Stempel cut as designed by W. Schwerdtner.

Rum Plakat is a display type developed as a display face within the type family »Rum« Rum Plakat is an alternative version of Rum Soft Sans Black. The complete family consists of Sans Serif & Serif in both sharp and soft version + the display fonts Rum Plakat & Rum Silhouette.

Wyoming Macroni is the split-serif (or Tuscan) version of the Wyoming series. The Pegged version adds a horizontal spike through the middle of the stems, which has been a popular variation of this style. Included in the family are two shadowed versions. The ShadowedInside styles can be used in layers with the Shadowed styles to easily create two-colored letters.

The Lined font started out with some scribbles - playing with lines and making shapes fold, underlap and overlap, eventually evolving into letters. This is a display/ornamental font and it was made in 2009, it's meant for decorative use and not in large bodies of text. For example it does well used as a headline font. It is proportionally spaced and uppercase only.

Printers Plant Ornaments was inspired by the decorative motifs used to fill in page space that have been around since moveable type printing commenced in the 15th century. All the ornaments are representations of plants. There is an assortment of 47 ornaments located under the character set keys. Under their respective shift + character set keys are the same 47 ornaments flopped.

Coronard is another of Greater Albion's explorations of 'Evolutionary' type. In this case we imagine a transition from Blackletter to Roman forms. Based around the Australian boomerang, Greg Bastin’s design originally appeared on private Christmas cards and individual projects. It was formalized into a font in 2002 by David Philpott (JY Circles) and brings a quirky antipodean style to the JY&A Fonts range. This display family is available in Solid and Outline forms, the latter containing patterns that parody those of Aboriginal culture.

M Curvy’s design breaks the mould of traditional Chinese characters to construct a brand new style. Carol Gothic is a traditional blackletter face closest to Linotype’s Old English. Inspired by New Transitional and Egyptian fonts, Tanger Serif has elements of a sturdy work-horse text face and finely detailed headline font. A wide variety of widths and weights support many text sizes. Typically Narrow is used in headlines, Medium in body and Wide in smaller print. Nothing is predefined, though. By combining the right widths with the right weights this traditional approach can easily be challenged. Let’s take an oversized (over 10 pt) body copy for instance. In conjunction with using a bigger size to enhance readability, a narrow and slightly lighter weight will save space and brighten text color. Tanger Serif Narrow is a slim normal rather than a condensed face. As an Open Type “Pro” font each weight includes an expanded character set, small caps, old style figures, tabular figures, ligatures, fractions etc. All these are easily accessible through OpenType features.

Here’s what happens when your trusty felt tip marker takes a trip to cartoonland. Each of Valentina’s plump characters has a rough and splotchy texture. Some letters even bounce up and down like a 3-year old. As cartoon faces go, Valentina is a bit on the imperfect side. But that’s normal for a funny face. Use it in a variety of comical situations. Make convincing captions under your own artwork or design greeting cards with it. You can even blow it up to huge sizes to create a wild and crazy look. The name "Smart Casual" says it all. This is the font to use when you want to create that smart impression without being too formal. It is based on the font "Black Tie" but it is less formal than "Black Tie". It conveys an impression of relaxed elegance without being either sloppy or too intimate. Smart Casual is ideal for invitations to stylish but relaxed events, for advertisements that are intended to create that special ambience, for posters and for announcements. Smart Casual has a full character set and has been carefully letter-spaced and kerned. It comes in two styles: Baseline and Staggered. In "Baseline" all characters refer to the same baseline (the lower part of the characters are in line), while in "Staggered" the capitals are placed lower than the lower case characters, creating a slightly more dramatic, yet formal and retro look.

Corner C is a part of Corner type family. This subfamily is designed with rounded shapes in the corners. The concept of the typeface Corner is based on variation of corner shapes in font characters, from what is also its name derived. The basis is a bitmap modular principle, to which by simple addition of “the missing pixels” in corners of the characters ( Corner A ) to the shape of diagonal ( Corner B ), curvature (Corner C), or inversion curvature ( Corner D ), three more font variations are created. The basic monolinear bitmap weight is supplemented by two more extreme thicknesses – hairline and fat weight. The character set supports the complete Latin, while the x-height of lowercase is drawn at the same height as in the uppercase characters. Corner is a strong display typeface, which allows you to easily experiment and to combine it with its mutual font variations.

In many aspects, built in a traditional way. Still, some modern details have been implemented which classic designs sometimes lack. The prime goal was to make a strong text font for books and longer texts in general. This fact does not exclude the possibilites for use elsewhere. Throughout history existing designs have often been the source of inspiration for newer ones. Delicato is no exception and looking closely, similarities can be found in the lowercase of Jeremy Tankard’s Enigma and the stems of Petr van Blokland’s Proforma. The goal is to respect these sources and turn the the typeface into something new with a unique and personal touch. Most text faces carry a basic set of weights like Regular, Italic, Bold and Small Caps. MRF wanted to expand that a little bit further and added a Medium, Alternates and a set of Ornaments to make the family complete and versatile.

Eclectotype's continuing battle against whitespace continues full cream ahead with Duckie, and fat-bottomed script that packs a whole lotta weight into the softest of punches. The forms feel familiar, like they're straight from funky disco album covers, but this is a 100% original face. Don't let its retro charm dissuade you from taking it for a spin in more contemporary settings; it might just surprise you! Now for the features bit: OpenType features include ligatures, swashes, contextual alternates and stylistic sets. The stylistic sets are 1. swap the script r swap to a normal r, 2. swap the script upper case i to a more familiar seriffed version, 3. the number four changes to an open form, and lastly, 4. loopy ascenders in the lower case close in and lose the hole. You should not use this in all caps settings. Pretty please.
