Salish is a sans-serif typeface inspired by the art of the Salishan tribes in the Northwest Americas. The Unit Gothic series was released by Hamilton Manufacturing Co. in 1907. This sans serif family features one of the first multi width/weight type 'systems' anticipating the Univers font system by 50 years. This set of 7 fonts was designed to aid in press room efficiency and with its incremental variation in widths gave poster printers unprecedented flexibility in fitting copy while using consistently harmonious fonts. LTC Goudy Initials has been a best-seller since it was reformatted to font format by P22 in 2005. We decided that while it works very well at medium sizes, when it was used extra large, the outlines were not as true to Frederic Goudy’s 1917 drawings as they could be. We decided to redraw from the ground up—and here we have the NEW LTC Goudy Initials! Meticulously redrawn by Miranda Roth, these ornaments referenced original proofs of large sizes of Cloister Initials. In our quest for artwork for this project, we even arranged a quickly sold out recasting of the 120 point size and have produced a limited edition letterpress print from this casting This new digital version features two additional layers to allow for quick colorizing of the central letter and/or the floriated background. This font was created while looking at the various shapes my handwriting consistently took, especially in the ways that letters would have breaks in them. Over the course of a few months I continually tweaked the letter forms and shapes, and lo and behold, I developed Deco Sans. This family currently only includes a thin weight, as I'm only one person, and very busy with college. I'm continuing work on a regular, bold, and possibly a future italic weight, but these may not be released for many months to come. As this is a very thin font, it should be used at sizes no smaller than around 16 or 18pt as it tends to get lost in whitespace, and looks best at large sizes. As such, this weight should be considered more of a display font than a text font, however, I predict a regular weight to be very readable and much more useable for the everyday.

Jason Uncial, a unicase font, was created by Dutch designer Coen Hofmann. Uncial hand writing began to spread in Europe at the time of the late Roman Empire (200 A.D.). It influenced both the Carolingian Minuscule as well as our present lower case letter forms. Uncial fonts are still very much in use. It is used for headlines, display, titles, certificates, and not surprisingly, very much in Ireland or for anything with a Gaelic/Irish or Celtic touch.

Originally created in 2014 but redesigned and improved in 2020, Remah Pro is an eclectic and versatile sans serif font family consisting of 5 weights, from extra light to extra bold with its respective condensed. Cruz Quaste is a calligraphic medieval type, drawn by Måns Grebäck between 2018-2020. While traditional in character it is yet original, and could be described as a reinvented Gothic style. Its blackletter style it works great in historical contexts, or to give projects a tough feeling. Cruz Quaste contains OpenType features such as alternates and ligatures. The font is multilingual and supports all Latin-based European languages. It contains numbers, punctuation and all symbols you'll ever need.

Created by German designer Jürgen Weltin, Linotype’s Agilita is a contemporary humanist sans serif family with a wide variety of weights, including both ultra thin hairline options and heavier, dark type. Agilita has rather classical proportions; its clear ascenders and descenders lend more distinct word shapes. Weltin’s design has a dynamic, yet strong and very functional appearance with a fine but clear emphasis on the horizontals. This traditional approach makes it a versatile typeface for large-scale text setting, but it can also be used in complex information design projects, and orientation systems, for example. Hence it was developed carefully into a wide range type family system consisting of 32 styles. This even covers the requirements for display and headline setting. Corresponding condensed weights are suitable where horizontal space is scarce, as in narrow columns and tables, for example. The Agilta Hairline and Agilta Ultra Thin styles were especially made for display use. These fonts should be set at a minimum size of 20 pt for printed project, and about 40 pt on output to laser printers, depending on the paper used. Agilita’s character sets include special symbols and signs that may be used in dictionaries; like arrows for lemmata and signs for cross references, idioms or colloquial language. There are two sets of arrows available in each weight for use in orientation systems. Each font in the Agilta family is built according to Linotype’s Extended European character set guidelines. These offer support for more than 48 Latin-based languages used in Western, Central, and Eastern Europe, including Baltics and Turkey.

Greenbriar AEF bears resemblance to blackletter, crisply drawn and creating a hypnotic rhythm through the interplay of stroke and counter, wieght and width. The Greenbriar numbering scheme is based on the weight and width axes of a multiple master from which the instances are generated. The first number in any of the series (1 through 5) relates to the width The second two numbers (20 through 80, in 20-unit increments) relates to the weight within the width series. Mix and match the series for a hypnotic typographic extravanganza!

Nana is a classic joining script with long ascenders and descenders, that is based on a set of unique but forgotten initials that were designed in the roaring 20s and 30s in Paris.

Berimbau is a whimsical narrow hand-drawn typeface. It’s stylish, versatile and loaded with amazing OpenType features that do their magic in OpenType savvy applications. Its sprightly swashes and twisting stylistic alternates (say that 3 times fast!) play together to deliver a really cool contextual feature that, in a push-button way, substitutes the first letter in a word with its left swash version and the last letter with its right swash version (please type a space before and after the words).The feature also applies stylistic variants to some of the intermediate letters. Which button to push? The Contextual Alternates one! If you're not a one-click-way-person you can pick your preferred glyphs through the glyphs palette. There you’ll find at least 4 variations for each letter: left swash, right swash and 2 regular forms that correspond to the upper and lower case keys. Some letters also have a 5th variation that acts as stylistic alternate. This font is conveniently packed with the ‘access all alternates’ functionality, so when you click on a glyph at the glyphs palette you’ll see all variations available for it, making it easier to choose the one that will fit better. A bold weight was made to provide that extra-strength when a bit of… boldness is needed. Please note that it doesn’t have the advanced OpenType features (but is still very charming!). Yet, both weights have a handy set of ornaments for added yumminess.

My wife name is Yasemin. After building this typeface, I wanted to honor with my wife’s name. I think I fully reflects the character I created in my mind. I created ornaments and connected glyphs. Yasemin is an OpenType font that contains 1045 glyphs. Ligatures, alternates, starting, endings, a wide range of latin languages and a set of ornaments. And words specially designed to use in advertising slogan, stationery for weddings, birthdays, etc. TIPS: Try using Yasemin at a 20º angle so that the slanted strokes, ornament become perfectly vertical. Having the decorative ligatures feature (dlig) activated is a good option to see letters dance. TECHNICAL: It is absolutely recommended to use this font with the standard ligatures feature (liga) activated. It makes letters ligate perfectly and also improves the space between words. In 2009, a book from 1897 in the library of the University of Wisconsin caught David Berlow’s attention. It was set in a clear text face—a predecessor of Bookman—cast by the Western Type Foundry who called it Custer. Upon noting how well the typeface worked in sizes of 6 and 7 points, Berlow developed it into a member of the Reading Edge series specifically designed for small text on screen. Custer RE was a broad and approachable typeface drawn large on the body with a tall x-height to maximize its apparent size when set very small. This was the beginning of the newly expanded series; in 2020, Berlow added new optical sizes and weights, growing the original design’s versatility up to headline sizes.
