Beckinslade is a lovely elaborate blackletter face, released just in time for Christmas, but useable at any time of the year. Caslon Antique is a decorative American typeface that was designed in 1894 by Berne Nadall. It was originally called "Fifteenth Century", but was renamed "Caslon Antique" by Nadall's foundry, Barnhart Bros. & Spindler, in the mid-1920s. The design of the typeface is meant to evoke the Colonial era. Early printers would reuse metal type over and over again, and the faces would become chipped and damaged from use. Caslon Antique emulates this look. Despite the name, it is not a member of the Caslon family of typefaces. The renaming is believed to have been a marketing maneuver to boost the popularity of a previously unpopular typeface by associating it with the highly popular Caslon types. Toshna is a classic garaldic typeface family offering three real optical type sizes. The Display weight for titles and headlines is kept very tall, thin and graceful. The Book weight for body text is drawn essentially wider, more round with robust, bold details. The punctuations and accents strictly serve the demands of body text. They are substantially bigger and more readable. Despite the fact that the width is running economically, the user notes the fonts ‘big face, that qualifies for eye friendly long texts.

A Bitstream version of News Gothic that was created by Morris Fuller Benton for American Typefounders and first appeared in 1908. There is the standard American sanserif of the first two thirds of the twentieth century with narrow proportions and a large x-height. Despite, or perhaps because of, the font’s unconventional relationships in proportion and form, News Gothic has long been a popular typeface for almost any use. Tabac Big Glam probably stretches the Tabac super-family’s boundaries the furthest. While it’s based on the serif version, it achieves an especially surgical cleanliness and extremely sharp typesetting by completely letting the serifs go. Hebron Hebrew is a font that contains 22 Hebrew letters along with five word ending letters that are automatically activated when used in Applications such as Apple-Pages and MicroSoft-Word. Piano Keys is a musically-inspired font. It can be used for commercial as well as educational projects. In other versions, I tried to accurately replicate the pattern of black and white keys across the character set. Of course when used, the randomness of text and characters often produced less than realistic results when needed. This version allows black and white keys to be accurately arranged, if desired.

SK Eliz is an eight-bit old-school geometric font based on pixels. Despite the old school, the font looks modern and simple. The font is built on a clear geometric grid, verified to the last pixel. F.W. Woolworth was once one of the giants of the variety store chains, along with the likes of Kress, S.S. Kresge, McCrory’s, Neisner Brothers, Ben Franklin and others. In 1960, the company brought out a new corporate logo with a type design harking back to the Art Deco style of the 1930s and 1940s. A photo of one of their old store fronts (despite having only eight letters to work with) inspired the digital interpretation of the signage as Bargain Shopping JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The sheet music for the 1939 tune "Chico's Love Song (Ma-La-Ja Fa-La Pas-Ka Lah-Ta) [Cuban Double Talk]" may have had an odd title, but the main portion of it was hand lettered in an interesting style. Condensed letters with rounded corners complemented by sharp lines and angles give the characters an almost futuristic look, despite the fact that they were designed during the Art Deco era. This became the basis for Song Composer JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

When my Taiji teacher gave all of his students a handwritten card with their name on I noticed that he had an unusual and beautiful handwriting. I persuaded him to write out each of the standard glyphs for me in return for me doing some repairs to his trousers! Earth Encounters Family is the result.
