I originally wanted to call this font Instant Pudding. When I was a kid, we sometimes had instant pudding (the ‘add cold milk and rest in the fridge’ kind) for dessert. My brother and I loved the stuff, especially when some of the pudding powder had not dissolved and had turned into brightly coloured speckles! But this font, alas, did not ‘feel’ like instant pudding, so I hunted the internet for other, more obscure, puddings. I found Spoonbread. Apparently it is a pudding-like Southern American dish, made from cornmeal. I have never tasted it, nor do I particularly like corn (most of it is GMO anyway), but the font and the name became friends. And who am I to tear this beautiful relationship asunder? Spoonbread - use it for your packaging, your books, your posters and your games. And when you make Spoonbread, use organic cornmeal!

The Typeface «Mixcoatl» by Elia Salvisberg was developed as a part of a course at the Lucerne School of Design and Art in 2016. Based on the book «The Empire of the Inca», a display-font has been created, which is inspired by the graphic language of the South American Empire of the Incas. At the beginning, only capital letters were designed but there was the desire for a complete typeface – which is why the missing signs were added. The font is based on a grid, so the characters are constructed equivalently and a uniform geometric font arose. The name was adopted from the god of hunting who plays an important role in the mythology of the Aztecs and appears in various forms. The uppercase letters can also be represented and combined in two alternative character-sets, so there are a lot of opportunities to combine uppercase words in different forms.

My goal with this font was to create an easily legible script font which would work for a wide variety of purposes. This font retains my personality within the characters as they were initially based off my own handwriting and later tidied up to create a set of consistent characters. Having that handmade feel and personal touch certainly gives it a hint of authenticity.

Brandon Text is the companion of the famous Brandon Grotesque type family. It has a higher x-height than the Grotesque version and is optimized for long texts, small sizes and screens. This special Office version of Brandon Text is especially for all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint …). It contains just the 4 basic styles which are style-linked and can be easily accessed by the “I” or “B” button in Office. The fonts are manually hinted so their appearance is also optimized for these applications.

While designing ITC Spirit, Patty King was influenced by classic typeface styles. Tertre is a display/short text typeface with a wide range of applications from signage or posters to menus and pricelists; branding, packaging or publishing. It is named after Place du Tertre, a square located at the top of Montmartre—a hill overlooking Paris, made famous by the artists of the 19th and 20th Century. Like in Galette, the letters have no overhangs and the stroke thickness of capitals and lower case letters is identical, making hinting or anti-aliasing more uniform at any point size and zoom combination.

Linotype BioPlasm is a display face created by Italian design Mauro Carichini in 2002. It distorts and deletes parts of letters, creating the appearance of a living, typographic organism in pages of text. Lines set in Linotype BioPlasm seems bubble to the surface, and always hints at some sort of unrevealed secret. Although only parts of most letterforms are visible, the high x-heights of Linotype BioPlasm's letters make its text surprisingly legible for such a concept-font. For usage in products ranging from Sonic to Science, Linotype BioPlasm may be the font for you!

Sys is a condensed font designed to work well at small sizes (i.e. phone books, maps, or the like) but it has enough personality to be used at big sizes, too. This charming font, with its hints of the exotic, originally carried the rather prosaic name of Show Card Roman. It appeared in the book "Art Alphabets and Lettering: an encyclopedia of lettering including the most important standard alphabets and such classics as are in most demand for the use of engravers, designers, and all lovers of art" by the evidently rather verbose J. M. Bergling (1866-1933). As a nod to its exotic overtones, the font is named after the 1872 utopian novel of the same name by Samuel Butler.

Polynesiac was discovered deep in the jungle on a cave wall on Gilligan's Island. "I was looking for ancient pictographs, and I find this crap instead!" says designer Wesley Poole. The Shad is the almost illegible cousin of the >> Chiq. As the name suggests - it consists of the shadows of the letters. And the bolder the font style, the stronger it is. The “Light” only has a thin shadow, while the “Black” casts a very deep, broad shadow. Shad only consists of the letter shadows, the corresponding letter remains transparent, i.e. without filling. The “metrics”, i.e. the spacing and character widths, correspond to those of Chiq, so that both fonts can be placed congruently on top of each other.
